Gaju - One

Gaju - One
Chapter 100 - Why?

The remaining sixteen Candidates used this three days of preparation time in different ways.

Gaju and Tian spent their time as usual like nothing had happened. They also did not intend to hunt the other Candidates because according to the broadcast of the Island Manager, they both had already escaped to the next Stage. So there's nothing more they need to do.

They also knew that there was no such foolish candidate to try to come to their door and find trouble with them both.

Koma calmly meditated as usual and calmed his soul. For Koma who can easily finish off the lives of the Elves with the strength of a level 3 fighter who is as strong as Griffin. Provided that Koma did not intend to save lives with monsters like Gaju, Tian, Gama or Koga, Koma was confident he would pass through to the Fourth Stage easily.

Gama had fun with Tsa and didn't think about this exam at all. He believes in his ability, the only obstacle for Gama is the existence of Koga. Koga considered himself a leader from a long time ago.

Gama was eager to see Koga's reaction when he came to the Complex and intended to hunt down his Team members. Will Koga protect them or will he just hand over his members?

The true nature of a person will be seen when he is experiencing a crisis.

And Gama was very curious as to what Koga's real figure looked like. A true leader, or just a petty man who uses others for his own personal interests?

Somewhere else.

The Nine Empty Candidate, known as Songlan, smiled sinisterly as she glanced at the compound.

He who was previously the Vice Chief of Team Koga and finally decided to escape, could now pat his chest proudly. The decision that he had never imagined but finally he took because of the circumstances.

After a failure in his mission to hunt down Gaju a few years ago, Songlan kills the Duma and decides to survive alone.

At first, Songlan was so shocked and perky that as she tried to become a lone wolf, Songlan enjoyed a fairly high status since the First Stage because of Koga. Standing beside Koga, Songlan also gained a shower of light and influence from the dominance of the Leader.

Songlan could easily get all her wishes from the other Candidates who had always revolved around Koga.

But, being a lone fighter was very different, Songlan had to do everything by herself. He is also responsible for all the needs of his own life. No one else will serve him as he used to.

Songlan also realized that the power without apps was a toothless tiger with no fangs.

He did have above average physical attributes, but his combat experience was minimal. By wandering alone in the Forest, Songlan slowly honed his skills. Songlan also slowly realized all his weaknesses and perfected his fighting style.

Not from theory, but from experience. Not from the story but from the severity of the attack.

Slowly but surely, Songlan changed. To become stronger. Become a real fighter. Who rely on his own abilities, not the shade and protection of others.

Songlan also realized that the only one she could trust and would never betray was herself. And he managed to get the serum enhancement like the one used by Koga.

The only similar serum that did not fall into the hands of Team Koga out of the three available serum sets.

For this Exam, Songlan had a clear target. He's finished off the Duma. He only needed to pluck the grass up to its roots, killing the life of the Duma soulmate named Aen.

The beautiful, nosed-nosed Semitic face flashed across Songlan's head. He knew Aen a long time ago. A beautiful girl who had a weak physique but above average intelligence.

But of all that, perhaps the only greatest misfortune that Aen had was his soulmate named Duma. A Candidate with no merit whatsoever compared to the other Candidates and managed to escape to the Third Stage just because of luck.

"I'm sorry Aen. But, this is what I have to do," Songlan murmured softly.

Songlan's memories also suddenly carried over to her own soulmate, One Empty aka Sako.

Songlan took a deep breath. For years wandering alone in the Forest, hunting and fighting for survival, how he wished for Sako to come looking for him and offer to accompany him through the day.

But, all of that was just a dream.

A logical choice and probably will be made by all women.

Songlan took a deep breath. Everything had already passed and he had already lost his sense for his soulmate. He was just curious as to what the reaction of all his former Team members would be when he returned later.

"What are we gonna do?" ask Gasa.

"We'll see, then" replied Tia slowly.

Tia and Gasa were indeed a couple who counted as less fortunate. In the past, they thought that by relying on Koga, they could seize the opportunity to become stronger, but reality was not as beautiful as hope.

Koga used points from his Team for Songnam and Tien.

Tia who feels that she is more meritorious to hold disappointed for many years.

"Koga, in a moment, all eyes will look towards your Kingdom and make your Team members a target. I will use that to take a chance in narrowness," muttered the cynical Tia.

Em just stayed in his room. Supposedly, with the status he had as a Koga soulmate, he could be considered the Real Queen in the Koga Team, but the truth was not so.

For years he tried to be a good soulmate for Koga, but never once did he get a reply.

He could only regret his fate for being born with a physique that he hated so much.

The physique that made it was not at all considered in Koga's eyes.

He looked at his face and body in front of the mirror. The more he noticed the shadow of himself, the more disgust and resentment peaked in his chest.

"Why?" a question he had already spoken back was heard from his lips.

The beautiful Caucasian face that she had but hated so much was seen sneering towards her. Em then took an object from in front of him and threw it into the mirror and made it break apart.

Em then cried in his room.

"Why?" his whisper was soft in between his cries.

Why is the world so unfair?

Maybe that's the question sentence in his head.

A question that will never be answered by him.
