Gaju - One

Gaju - One
Chapter 16 - Unknown Factor

Day755

A month after the program enters its second phase. The lives of the Candidates on the Island changed drastically. Something has changed in a better direction. Some are getting worse but many are not experiencing any meaningful change at all.

Gaju is one that has not undergone many meaningful changes. He kept up with his daily routine before the second stage began. Just make time for classes in the morning by spending time reading books in the Library or library.

The rest of the time is used the same as before.

Another thing that is different is that now Tian always follows wherever Gaju goes. Gaju was initially troubled by that. But after a month of walking Gaju finally got used to the presence of the little girl named Tian around him.

Tian was originally very curious about the Strange's daily routine that he could not predict at all.

But after a few days of following him, Tian began to understand Gaju's daily activities.

Tian feels a little disappointed, as Tia, his best friend, says, there is nothing special about Gaju's life. He reads books, studies and practices just like any other candidate.

Perhaps what distinguishes Gaju from other candidates is that he likes to be alone. He also did not like to hang out with other candidates. In addition, he enjoys practicing at his favorite spot which does have a beautiful view at sunset in the afternoon.

But other than that, there is nothing special about Gaju training. Routine martial movements, routine power training movements to increase muscle mass and all other normal exercise routines.

Tian was confused. Is his brain deceiving him? Why does Tian's analytical ability always fail when trying to analyze Gaju?

There is always an 'x' factor that Tian does not know and makes him unable to guess what Gaju will do in combat or combat conditions.

Such as his brain ability to have problems analyzing Gaju, why would Tian be able to easily do that for the other 38 candidates? What happened to Gaju? What makes it special? That kind of question had filled Tian's head these past few days.

Don't blame Tian if he spends his time thinking about this seemingly trivial matter. As a strategist, such a thing is indeed the main point.

Strategists develop their ability to quickly recognize enemy characters, determine the outlines of the abilities and weaknesses of each enemy, then by combining external factors such as the location of the fight, weather, vegetation, rocks, and other factors, even wind conditions and air humidity are also. After that the Strategist will do a thorough analysis to get a plan or scenario of the fight that brings himself or his team to victory.

Therefore, the most important requirement for the Strategist is to have good knowledge and memory to recognize the terrain and environment. And have above average analytical skills to be able to produce battle scenarios quickly and precisely.

And the main enemy of a strategist like Tian is the unknown factor, the unknown, the factor that cannot be accounted for in his analysis. Because a scenario with an uncertainty factor in it can overturn everything.

From winning to losing, from surviving to being a corpse.

Gaju is the biggest unknown factor for Tian.

From a long time ago, Tian had been paying close attention to Gaju because of that. After 2 years during the First Stage, Tian had yet to discover the reason that made Gaju so mysterious to him.

Tian kept trying to find the secret that the Strange was trying to hide. Time after time, day after day, and without the little girl noticing, Gaju was no longer a mysterious object moving beyond his analysis, Gaju being something truly special in Tian's eyes.

Until this second, when the Strange had been his soulmate for more than a month but Tian was also still unable to analyze the ability possessed by Gaju, who was now sitting in front of him.

"What book did you read anyway?" tian asked towards Gaju who was sitting in front of him and was engrossed in reading books on the table.

"If it's not important, why read it?" reply Tian while scowling, "so bad this brat, there is a beautiful girl in front of him even engrossed in reading a book that is not clear," inner Tian in heart.

Strange indeed, all the intelligence capability that Tian possessed, seemed to be puffing up when he was near the Strange. Tian so easily carried away emotions and less able to use his logic properly and correctly according to the instructions in the book.

After throwing his face away for a while, Tian again turned his gaze toward the book cover held by Gaju.

'A Manual of Accounting by Peter Deadman'

Wtf, what the hell is that book? Even Tian had only heard the words 'acupuncture' once'.

Tian's curiosity was slightly piqued, "what the hell book is that?" tanya Tian towards Gaju.

Gaju put his book on the table and looked towards Tian, "there was such a rich forehead, Tian!!" gaju said while taking a deep breath.

"Yes, but you answered the book doesn't matter, Gaju!!" tian replied as he glared back at Gaju.

"Make you unimportant, make me important" replied Gaju.

"Do you know what is important to me or not?" tian replied in a defiant tone.

"You're the most genius candidate of his brain on the Island. I'm sure all the books you think are important must have been read. If you do not know what this book is, it means, this book is not even at all you consider to exist," said Gaju slowly.

Tian fell silent after hearing Gaju's words, "The clothes just analyzed me?" ask in your heart while confused.

"Didn't Gaju just analyze me and his analysis right? That means, Gaju's analytical capability is the same or maybe higher than mine right?" batin Tian was still with a stunned face and looked towards Gaju.

"But if it is like that, why has Gaju never once ranked in the top three? Or did he intentionally cover up his abilities? What is the value of Gaju IC and PA?" several questions instantly sprung up in Tian's small brain which moved swiftly to think of all the possibilities that were happening.

Duakk.

The slow sound of a book hitting Tian in his head, Tian paled in pain and looked towards the main suspect who hit him just now, Gaju.

Tian immediately scowled furiously towards Gaju.

"Don't think things through" said Gaju slowly and instantly felt like a hammer being smashed into Tian's chest.

Gaju's words were 'spot on' and precise about what just crossed Tian's little head. Tian sneered towards Gaju in reply.

Gaju looked towards his wrist then stood up to head towards Canteen. It's lunch time.

Tian smiled and followed the Strange from behind. That morning, a fact about Gaju was discovered by Tian. A fact that suggests that Gaju may be just as intelligent or even more intelligent than himself.
