In a room in the Management Complex, several people were looking at the results of the first written test held for Candidates. They were busy giving the assessment and when all the test results were assessed, they collected the paper and took it to a room on the third floor of this building.
Although Candidates are not allowed to enter into this Management Complex, the Management must still wear their masks while in the Complex, except in the personal dormitory of each Manager.
With the exception of the Professor.
And this time, the Manager who brought the stack of test papers led him to the Professor's room. Shortly after, he was already standing in front of the room he was referring to. After standing for a few seconds, the door of the room opened itself.
The Manager went inside in a respectful manner and waited for signs from the Professor who seemed to be busy in front of his computer screen floating on the table. His hand moved to press the keybord button in the form of a three-dimensional hologram in front of him.
“Ya?” ask the Professor to the Manager who is still standing behind him.
“I brought the results of our first written exam from Candidates, Professor,” replied the Administrator slowly.
The Professor turned his head slowly towards the Manager who directly lowered his head when they looked into the eyes. The figure of the Professor who looks like a scholar wearing glasses and hair filled with white gray looks like a scary figure for the Manager.
And they were right about that.
Professor is the mastermind who initiated the program now implemented on the Island. A heinous program that seeks to create an efficient killing machine by eliminating the concept of humanity in children called Candidates.
Candidates will be raised and educated without the affection of parents, siblings and the environment normally. They will not know the concept of social, they will only be taught the concept of survival of the fittest. The strongest and brightest will survive. Until finally, the winners will be the mainstay weapon they print from the mad program initiated by Professor.
Program codenamed “Lone Wolf”.
“Leave the file on the table,” said Professor Short.
The Manager quickly placed the file on the table and nodded his head before he left the room as soon as possible. Just like the other managers. He's here for the money. Every manager who works here is given a salary that is several times the amount they receive in the world out there.
But the unique terms and ways of working must also be met by the prospective Management. They will also be rotated once every month, alternating with other workers who will serve here for the next month. Everything was like that, from the Servants, Chefs all the way to the Guardians who served in the guard tower.
Only one person has never left the Island at all, just like the Candidates, he is the Professor. In his room, there are hundreds of screens that always monitor every corner of the Island that he can monitor at any time, whenever he wants.
When the manager came out of the room, the door closed itself. The professor glanced back for a moment and quickly waved his hand. The pile of paper containing the answers of the Candidates floated into his palm.
Already since this afternoon, Professor was eager to see the test results of the Candidates. Perhaps to the Managers, those children were just a bunch of poor children who were educated to become the strongest warriors on the Island. But to the Professor, they were all his children.
The Professor quickly read the results of the forty Candidates one by one. It took him less than a minute for each piece of paper he read. And quickly also the Professor can conclude the level of ‘knowledge’ owned by the Candidates after these two months they are on the Island.
The Professor then waved his hand towards the keyboard that was in front of him and a list containing forty Candidates names appeared in front of him. His attention immediately turned to the top ten who got the highest score from their first test.
The Professor's eyes were immediately fixed on a picture of a smiling little girl and underneath it were two words, Three Eight. Candidates who have the highest score for their first knowledge test.
The little girl was just wrong in answering the 5 questions that were already determined by the Manager. The professor smiled as he looked at the photo of the little girl who had now been enlarged and filled half the screen in front of him.
But, suddenly the Professor felt that something was terribly wrong as he checked the Candidates' answers. Professor is a genius who relies on logic. There is no dictionary in his head to use feelings or feelings to judge things.
He quickly picked up the pile of paper and went back to researching it one by one. When he found a sheet of answer paper that had a score in the top ten of the Candidates and was two points below Three Eight, the Professor stopped and read it carefully.
A few minutes later, the Professor suddenly laughed loudly in his quiet room, “Kampret!! You think you can fool me?”
The professor quickly waved his hand and typed an input of data into the boy's bio-data whose name was written on the paper he was still holding. Answer paper belongs to the Three Seven.
On the screen floating in front of the Professor, Gaju's photo was plastered next to the Three Eight. A new score is seen in the test results column written under the name Gaju.
Score 100, perfect score.
“I live longer than you, next time, if you want to try to trick me, try to be a little more ingenious. Don't pretend to be wrong on easy questions, but pretend to be wrong on complicated questions.”
“How could you be wrong on a simple question? Whereas in difficult questions, all questions you managed to answer perfectly,” murmured Professor with sparkling eyes while staring at the photo of Three Seven.
The professor then wanted to enter the score test result data into the central database when he suddenly stopped continuing his movement, “the Kampret boy deliberately answered wrongly, that meant he did not want his true abilities to be known. And that means he's creating camouflage for himself. He wants to cheat all his friends.”
Hahahahahahahahaha.
The professor laughed again in his room. Laughter louder than that when she discovered that Gaju had deliberately been wrong in answering her written test questions.
“Bokah, I like your way. From the very beginning, you were already aware that the other Candidates were your enemies and you deliberately hid your abilities.”
The professor looked at the photo of Gaju with a gaze as if he had found a diamond in a pile of trash. Quickly, the Professor's two hands changed the input data of Gaju's score back to 90. Without hesitation he pressed enter on his keyboard key. And at that very moment, all Candidates receive and know their test results wherever they are.
