Roka pulled up Kiran's arm to greet their comrades who now seemed astonished after hearing Kiran's justification of Roka's speech. They were surprised not to play because everyone knew that Kiran had been very anti-women. Although they regret because the beautiful girl was already not alone, but on the other hand they were also happy for Kiran's happiness.
Meanwhile, Roka was busy pulling Kiran towards the opposite direction to the other students who were now flocking towards the field. After feeling that he arrived at a place that was not too crowded, Roka released Kiran's arm.
"What are you doing here?" asked Roka while wiping the sweat on her forehead.
"Gue was told to take some files in the teacher's room. I also want to nyamperin Chandana for a while actually, but even already on the field," Kiran explained. Since then he has been going around in circles and even going to Language classes to meet Chandana.
Roka nodded in understanding, "Gue just met him, again the same Naya. Surprisingly, Naya avoids it from me. Why do you think he is?"
Kiran looked at the buildings standing tall before her, trying to guess. After thinking for a while, he said, "Maybe he thinks you're still angry. It will be directly samperin. I have to rush to the teacher's room, I've been waiting for."
"Aah elo mah!" grumbling Roka who inevitably had to let Kiran go even before her unrest was resolved.
After seeing Kiran walking towards the teacher room, Roka walked lazily towards the ceremonial field that was already seen full of students who had lined up neatly. With a slight rush, Roka looked for an empty gap to join the ranks before the teacher of the mats approached her.
As usual, the ceremony held after a long holiday is always long because the mandate of the supervisor of the ceremony and the directions given for the next semester cannot be categorized a little. Although initially quite calm, the more daylight makes the atmosphere on the field start to row because many students complain of heat. Some of them are also fun to chat and let go of longing with fellow friends after a long time without seeing.
No exception Roka was busy joking with some of her friends from the next class. Generally, men do have a wider association than women. Although not really close, boys tend to be able to adjust and talk a lot compared to women who are generally only able to joke and play with friends who are close to them.
Several times the teacher tried to discipline the students just by walking closer, but not infrequently they have to pull or pull children who are too rowdy to the back of the line to get punishment after the ceremony this morning is finished.
"As children usually do, for the next three days the curriculum and teaching and learning hours are still not intensive. Your activities may be colored by cleaning, sharing books and schedules, and socialization activities. And as you know, the school futsal team managed to pass the initial selection and successfully participated in the national futsal tournament. Today, Mr. Arman will direct several classes to help support the futsal team that will compete in GOR. As long as our team continues to qualify, each class will have a turn to be a supporter. The tournament will take place 7 days from now. So let's pray for them to be able to boast the name of the school once again!" exclaimed the headmaster at the end of the message he delivered.
The entire field cheered his support. Every year, futsal teams always managed to qualify until the semi-finals but always failed in the round or in the final without ever managed to bring a single championship trophy. This time, of course, they all hoped for victory for the futsal team so that everyone compactly prayed as the headmaster led a joint prayer from where he stood on the podium of the ceremonial builder. Almost all the students looked earnestly clenched their hands, not least Roka, Naya, Ratih, and Chandana.
After the prayer session, the headmaster ended his commission, making the students who complained of heat cheerfully cheer.
The sun is rising. Cloudy sunny weather this morning spouts beautiful scorching shades in the eyes. Dozens of students from the class who had been asked for his cooperation by Mr. Arman were seen gathering next to the school gate to wait for the shuttle bus to arrive. Although Roka's class was not one of them, she and some of her friends volunteered to participate in their support. Along with Roka, Chandana and Naya are also seen in the same neighborhood waiting for an invitation even though it is not their turn to be a supporter.
Since then Roka did look fun to joke with his friends, but it is undeniable that he continued to steal a glance towards Naya at least ten times in one minute. To be honest he intended to walk there and invite Naya to talk, but seeing the crowd makes Roka decide to be patient a little longer and will only invite Naya to talk later when they have arrived at GOR.
After nearly half an hour of waiting, two uniformly patterned buses stopped right at their school gates. Mr. Arman with the help of some children of OSIS began directing children to get into the bus in an orderly manner. Although it is natural that every high school student must have a wayward nature, but when compared to other school students, the, students of Tunas Kelapa High School are known to be orderly and disciplined enough when it comes to things like this because they tend to be easily organized and conditioned.
For approximately five minutes arranging all students to sit and get into the bus neatly, Mr. Arman gave a code to one of the bus drivers that they were ready to leave.
The driver nodded then drove quietly along with the bus he was driving. Another bus followed from behind shortly afterwards.
To get to GOR which is located in the city center, they need approximately 20-30 minutes. Some students seemed busy chatting to fill the free time. Some others seem busy playing mobile phones or listening to songs so that without feeling, they finally arrive at GOR.
With the direction of Mr. Arman, all the students walked in an orderly manner towards the futsal stadium. The atmosphere in GOR is very crowded because many students from other schools also visit there. Many food and beverage traders open small to medium stands around the futsal stadium area.
Roka who had been trying to refrain from approaching Naya decided that this was the most appropriate time for her. He thought that he could not have the opportunity to talk to Naya if they had entered the stadium. Therefore Roka walked quickly while splitting the group to be able to reach Naya.
"Lord! I want to talk!" Roka blocked Naya's arm from behind, making the girl flinch in shock.
Naya looks at Roka doubtfully, then tells Chandana to go in first and find a chair for her while she will catch up later.
As if understanding, Chandana nodded and then walked into the stadium with a group of other Tunas Kelapa High School students. Leaving Roka and Naya in front of the stadium door.
"We're moving out there, right?" Roka was still holding Naya's arm as she slowly pulled the girl to find a seat so they could talk more comfortably.
Roka stopped at an iron bench located under a medium-sized mango tree. He then invited Naya to sit down and follow him after making sure the girl had been sitting comfortably.
"I'm sorry," Naya said softly as she lowered her head. Apparently Kiran's guess is right. Naya still feels guilty for Roka.
"Gue already took your mother," Naya tried not to cry. He felt really guilty towards Roka.
Roka smiled as she shook her head slowly. His fingers stroked gently on Naya's smooth cheeks, "No, you didn't take anything from me. It is precisely I who should apologize for being angry with you. I know you're not wrong, but I just vent everything by avoiding lo like that."
Naya looked up, she felt a little embarrassed because this was the first time she was soft and melancholic after a long time being a super cute tomboy girl, "Lo not angry? I mean, now we're half-brothers. I'm your brother!"
Roka fell silent. It is true that indirectly now they have become stepbrothers. But they still have no blood relation. He also did not live with his mother and lived with the Father, "Gue can't wait for the younger brother?"
Naya smiled angrily, "Elo mah!"
"Nay, I love you. I like it the same you. I want us to be together! You want to, right?" Roka removed her hand from Naya's cheek and grabbed the girl's wrist. Trying to channel his beliefs to the girl he believes also has the same feelings as him.
"How's mama? If he knows"
"Mama gave me permission. Do you know that Mama's sick?" Roka asked doubtfully. Again he had to go back to remembering the fact that his mother would not have much time left.
Naya looked down sad, "Yes. My mom never wanted medication. The only medicine he wants to take is just a painkiller like a multivitamin so he looks fit. The last time to the hospital, the doctor said about 3 months. And now it's been 2 months" Naya couldn't say. Although Rosa is only a stepmother, but for Naya the woman is very meaningful.
"means... In less than a month?" Roka asked softly. His throat was dry when he said that.
Naya nodded weakly. Maybe now he feels sad, but Naya is well aware that Roka must be much sadder than she is. The man had been separated for years with his birth mother, labelling his mother a traitor and living tormented by resentment and anger. Now when all the truth is revealed, he must face the fact that his mother's age is not long.
"You want, I want us to be happy, Mama first. I want you to think about Mama first. After that, we think about us. About me the same lo. How's it?" Naya. He thinks maybe for now they should focus on Rosa first before thinking about their relationship going forward.
Although feeling a little sad, in the end Roka agreed to Naya's proposal. He had to think about his mother even more considering the time that the woman who had given birth to him was now no longer long. For this time, Roka must be willing to put aside her ego.
Upon seeing Roka nod, Naya gave a small smile. Slowly, he touched Roka's cheek with his hand. Gently stroking the fur-free cheeks then landed a kiss there, "Gue also love the same lo."
Roka glared. His lips tightened because the heart seemed to stop beating. He felt Naya's warm breath blowing on his face as the girl briefly peeked at his cheek. After performing the action, Naya threw away her face while blushing in embarrassment while Roja was surprised with wide-eyed eyes.
Happiness and wrong behavior overwhelm both of them. For a while, Roka and Naya were silent in their respective places, trying to neutralize the heartbeat and the blissful feeling of happiness.
"Let's go in," Roka tries to break the silence and awkwardness between them by taking Naya inside the futsal stadium.
Naya nodded while linking her fingers with Roka's fingers. They walked slowly with each other hand in hand, astonishing the few pairs of eyes that looked at the two.
From a distance, Chandana who saw Roka and Naya walking up to him on the row of spectators could only smile knots. As he and Kiran had guessed, Naya and Roka did indeed really like each other. Seeing Naya with a blushing face and Roka with a bright smile made Chandana conclude that the two people had made it through the storm that had confronted them.
Roka greeted Chandana and invited Naya to sit next to the girl, "Udah started?" Roka asked.
Chandana shook her head slowly, "Still warming up."
Roka nodded then looked straight at the field. There, Kiran along with Edy and their other teammates seemed to be warming up and stretching. Several times Edy was seen trying to provide direction and input to his colleagues before the game began.
Satisfied by the attention of Kiran and her school futsal team members, Roka looked towards the opposing team who were also warming up. In terms of posture, they are slightly taller and contain than most members of the Coconut Shoot High School futsal team. Roka researched and looked at the faces and postures of the opposing team members. According to Roka, his school team will win easily this time because after making observations, none of the members look serious. They looked lazy and reluctant, as if they did not want this match.
In contrast to the school team that looks passionate and determined. Edy even patted his friends on the back several times to channel his passion and confidence in them. To this day, Roka secured the victory of her school futsal team. He was sure Kiran and friends would be able to achieve victory easily.
Whistle blown. The referee enters the field and directs the team captains from both sides to conduct a coin toss as a means of determining who will kick off to start this first half. From the stands, the supporters began to cheer as the players began to enter the field. There, Roka smiled meaningfully, impatiently waiting for the victory of her best friend.
Back then, no one realized that the victory of today as well as the days that followed would not be entirely happy. Because later, there will be a price to be paid for all the pride they managed to get.
