Chapter 20 (Flashback Ha Ru and Young Min)

"Have you come?" yong Bin said, seeing Won.

Won immediately sat down and saw Min Jae's state of fear.

"Did you call me?" said Won.

"I heard you know something?" ask Yong Bin.

"What do you mean, dad?" said Won who pretended not to know what his father said.

"Did this stupid man kill people?" asked Yong Bin without further ado.

"How did you know?" ask Won.

" Basic humans are useless. Tomorrow you will go to America and never expect you to return" Yong Bin ordered.

"I beg you not to send me out of the country. I can't live there. I'm going crazy. I beg you" said Min Jae kneeling before his father.

"Are you going to stay here and humiliate me? " said Yong Bin.

"I'll just shut up and live like a dead man. I pledge. Don't send me there" Min Jae replied.

"Remove this useless creature from before me" Yong Bin ordered the bodyguard in the room.

Min Jae tried to get to the bodyguard and pleaded with his father but in vain.

"Are you not getting married?" yong Bin asks Won after Min Jae is dragged out.

"No. And I hope you don't take care of my personal life like last time" Won said.

"Basic men are useless" said Yong Bin.

"Then I'll leave if there's nothing to talk about anymore" Won said, leaving her father alone.

"The children's base is useless" Yong Bin said after Won left.

After Won comes out suddenly Min Jae's mother comes to him and begs Won so that he can help Min Jae.

"I beg you, I don't want to part from Min Jae anymore" Min Jae's mother asked as she held Won's hand.

"Keep your dirty hands away from me" Won said with a creepy look.

Min Jae's mother immediately let go of Won's hand and went back to pleading but Won didn't care about her and just left.

Won returned to his car with a feeling of annoyance, when he felt irritated suddenly his phone rang. Won gets a call from Ha Ru.

Ha Ru

Where are you?

Won

Outer. What was?

Ha Ru

I miss you.

Won

I'll pick you up, where are you?

Ha Ru

I'm still in the office but I don't have a job.

Won

All right wait for me there.

Won goes straight to the police station where Ha Ru works. Shortly after, he arrived and saw Ha Ru standing outside. Won got out of his car and hugged Ha Ru because she missed Ha Ru so much. As they hug, Man Ho, Eun So and Young Min see them.

"It wasn't the doctor we met" Eun So said.

"It's true" added Man Ho.

"Do you know him?" ask Young Min.

"She was the doctor we interviewed. I didn't think she was Ha Ru's boyfriend" Man Ho said.

Ha Ru and Won get in the car, as do Young Min, Man Ho and Eun So who plan to go to the captain's house. They continue their journey.

"Where are we going?" ha Ru asked while in Won's car.

"My house. I'll show you my house" Won replied.

"So have you thought about it?" ask Won.

"Think what?" ask Ha Ru.

"To stay with me" Won replied.

"Ah, sorry. I was really busy to the point of forgetting that" said Ha Ru who felt guilty.

"Then I will move to your house, besides my current residence is a gift from the office so it doesn't matter if I move" Ha Ru explained trying to reduce her guilt.

"really? Then tomorrow I'll send people to pick up your things" Won said.

Soon they arrive at Won's house, Ha Ru looks surprised by Won's magnificent home.

"Do you live alone in a house this big?" asked Ha Ru who was amazed.

"not anymore. I'll stay with you now" Won said.

"Aren't you going to take a shower?" ask Won.

"I don't think so. I didn't bring a change of clothes" Ha Ru said.

"I can lend you my shirt" Won said.

Ha Ru looks hesitant because this is her first time staying at a man's house especially she is her own lover.

"I have no bad intentions. If you don't want to I won't force it" said Won, who saw Ha Ru's reaction when she offered him her shirt.

"No pa-pa, I also feel sticky and want to take a shower. Then I will take a shower first" Ha Ru said.

"But where's the bathroom?" ha Ru asked who stopped her footsteps because she only realized that she did not know where the bathroom was.

"Disana" Won said as he pointed at one of the doors in his house.

Ha Ru immediately rushed into the bathroom and closed the bathroom door.

"Relax Ha Ru, don't overdo it and look like this is her first time for you" Ha Ru said as she looked in the mirror as if she was talking to herself.

"This time I won't reject it. I also want this" Ha Ru assured herself.

While Ha Ru is feeling a turbulent feeling in her heart, Young Min, Man Ho and Eun So go to Jang Man's house with soju.

"Captain... Are you home? Open the door" cried Man Ho from outside his house.

Hearing someone call him from the outside, Jang Man immediately opened the door and saw the three members of his team in front of his house.

"What are you doing here?" ask Jang Man.

"We say something" said Young Min while showing him the drink he was carrying.

They enter Jang Man's house and see how messy Jang Man's house is.

"Have you never cleaned?" ask Man Ho who saw Jang Man's house.

"Don't talk much and just sit in a clean place" Jang Man said as he picked up a glass for them.

"Why did you come here?" jang Man asked as he placed the glass on the table.

"We know that you will later drink alone so instead of drinking alone we want to accompany you. Because we are all feeling upset" Young Min explained as she opened the soju bottle and poured it into the glass.

They also drank the soju that Young Min had poured.

"I'm sorry" Jang Man said after drinking soju poured into a sizable glass with a single gulp.

"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault" Young Min said.

"I really want to catch the culprit. I just wanted to do what was my job, but I didn't know why it was so hard. Is it this hard just to do what we were supposed to do as cops" said a visibly drunk Jang Man.

"We also apologize, captain. If only we could find a clue for sure we could solve this case" retorted Man Ho who also looked drunk.

"It's not all our fault. It's all the corrupt inspector's fault. How could he take criminals off like that?" said Young Min.

While they were intoxicated to relieve their stress, the inspector they hated was talking to someone on the phone with a smile on his face. But the inspector had no idea he was being watched by someone from afar.

Elsewhere, Ha Ru, who was at Won's house, finished bathing and put on a bath robe when she came out of the bathroom.

"I'm done. Where's my shirt?" asked Ha Ru timidly.

"This" Won said as he gave his shirt to Ha Ru.

"If you're done changing clothes, we'll have dinner together. I've prepared dinner for us" Won continued.

Recording the two had dinner together, Ha Ru who looked awkward did not dare to look into Won's eyes and Won who realized it could only smile at Ha Ru's funny behavior.

"Why are you smiling?" ha Ru asked who saw Won smiling.

"It's okay. You are so beautiful today. How long have I not seen you, today I am happy to see you. I thought today would be a bad day for me but it wasn't. It's the best day of my life" Won explained.

"really? I'm happy too. Forgive me for being so busy that I don't have time for you" said Ha Ru, feeling guilty.

"I understand. But why did you come home early today? Have you caught the perpetrator? " ask Won.

"Yet. This is all because our inspectors released the suspects who were arrested without our consent and all the cases we have dealt with are at a dead end. There were no clues at all" Ha Ru explained who looked sad after telling her what was happening in her team.

"What are the cases you're dealing with?" ask Won curiously.

"It's actually a secret" Ha Ru replied.

"really? Then you don't have to tell me" Won said.

"No pa-pa. I believe in you so I'll tell you. My team's handling murder cases and two of them are related to each other, I think. But all of them there is no definite clue" Ha Ru explained.

"What's that case?" ask Won again.

"The murder case was in a suitcase and also a high school girl who died in my apartment neighborhood" Ha Ru explained.

"Oh yeah, weren't you at my house when the girl died? Don't you know anything when you get home?" ha Ru asks who hopes Won sees something.

"Actually I saw something that day" Won told a lie.

"What do you see?" asked the curious Ha Ru.

"I saw a man seem to run in a hurry while I was in the car" Won said.

"really? Was that man recorded in your black box" Ha Ru asked.

"Maybe" replied Won.
