Chapter 18 (Flashback Ha Ru and Young Min)

Soon they reach Min Jae's house and see how wide Min Jae's house makes them think that this case will be difficult to solve because Min Jae is most likely a child of people influential.

They knock on Min Jae's door and without hesitation Min Jae opens the door for them. As expected the police would come Min Jae looked calm and unopposed even when they handcuffed and carried Min Jae, Min Jae still looked calm. Ha Ru who observed Min Jae's behavior suspected that Min Jae already knew that the police would arrest him.

"How can he be that calm?" ha Ru said inwardly.

Ha Ru who feels strange with Min Jae's behavior attracts Young Min to tell Young Min his suspicions. The moment they were far enough away from the other members Ha Ru stopped.

"What's wrong?" asked Young Min who felt strange with Ha Ru's attitude.

"Didn't you feel weird? He looked very calm when we caught him and entered his house as if he already knew that we were coming" Ha Ru explained.

"I'm sure he already knows about this and there are others who are helping him" Ha Ru added.

Young Min who finally put aside his ego began to think about Ha Ru's words and he also felt strange about Min Jae's behavior.

Elsewhere Won is calling someone.

"No problem, I can handle it" Won told someone who called him.

"We can't do anything because the book doesn't have time to clean things up. They don't have direct evidence so we'll be safe" Won continued.

"Alright, leave it to Mr. Park the rest" Won said as he hung up.

"Basic humans are useless" Won muttered after he turned off his call.

They arrive at the police station and place Min Jae in the investigation room. This time Ha Ru and Young Min are going to investigate Min Jae.

Ha Ru and Young Min look at Min Jawa who is sitting quietly feeling suspicious especially Min Jae can still smile.

"Lee Min Jae, we're currently interviewing you as a murder suspect so please tell me the truth. Do you know Hyo Min?" ask Ha Ru.

"Hyo Min's? min Jae asked pretending not to remember.

" Han Hyo Min's. You were caught by CCTV entering his apartment" Young Min said.

"Ahhhhh.... Han Hyo Min's. I just remembered. Yes, I know him" said Min Jae.

"Do you know that Hyo Min passed away this morning? " said Young Min.

"What's? Hyo Min is dead? how come?" min Jae said with his bad acting.

" Did you go to Hyo Min's house last night? " ask Ha Ru.

"Yes I went to Hyo Minn's house last night" Min Jae replied.

"What's your relationship with Hyo Min?" ask Ha Ru.

"Friends. I helped her to learn you can ask her friends" said Min Jae.

"Did you kill Hyo Min?" asked Young Min without further ado.

"No. Why am I doing it" Min Jae replied evasively.

"Then why were you at Hyo Min's house last night?" ask Young Min.

"Yesterday was my schedule to teach him so I went there. I can show you the schedule I made" explained Min Jae.

What time did you leave Hyo Min's house? " ask Young Min.

"Around 8 at 9" Min Jae replied.

"Didn't you find anything suspicious when you left Hyo Min's house?" ask Young Min again.

"No. Everything seems ordinary" said Min Jae.

"Did you know that Hyo Min lives with her mother? " ask Ha Ru.

Min Jae who originally looked calm suddenly showed uneasy behavior upon hearing Ha Ru's question.

"Ti. I don't know" Min Jae said with an awkward smile.

"Have you never met her mother?" ask Ha Ru again.

"No" Min Jae said as he held her hair.

When they are interrogating suddenly someone enters the investigation room and introduces himself as Min Jae's lawyer.

"If there is something you want to ask, please ask me. And also you can't make my client a suspect without clear evidence" explained the lawyer named Park.

"But your client is the last person with the victim so he is most likely the culprit" Young Min said.

"But he's not the killer and you're holding him without a warrant so my client doesn't have to be here" Park said.

"If you have any more questions, please call my client officially. We'll go first" Park added.

Young Min and Ha Ru can't stop Park and Min Jae.

After Min Jae got away everyone on the team felt angry and disappointed. Min Jae gets a call from Won.

"Alright I'll tell you a little patience" Min Jae said again.

"He was in Puru hospital" said Min Jae.

After hearing that, Won hung up and rushed to the hospital that Min Jae meant. Once there he was looking for Min Ji and it was true that Min Ji was being treated there. After confirming Min Ji's whereabouts, Won starts making plans to take Min Ji without anyone suspecting.

Meanwhile, Ha Ru is still thinking about the reaction of Min Jae when asked about Hyo Min's mother. Ha Ru suspects that Min Jae is aware of Hyo Min's mother's whereabouts.

"We have to find Hyo Min's mother" Ha Ru said amidst the team's chaotic atmosphere.

"What do you mean?" ask Jang Man.

"So in the investigation room when I asked about Hyo Min's mother, Min Jae responded like no other questions. I'm sure that Min Jae knows about something" Ha Ru explained.

"I've been trying to track her down but her phone is dead and only her daughter is using her credit card" Eun So said.

"When was the last time the phone was active?" ask Ha Ru.

"About a month ago" Eun So replied

"Do you think his mother ran away?" ask Man Ho.

"Right, even in her house we can't find her mother's clothes" Eun So added.

"I don't know. We'll investigate the case again. Man Ho and Eun So, please check the CCTV around the apartment for the past month and you two keep an eye on Min Jae lest he run away" Jang Man ordered.

They immediately moved to hear orders from Jang Man.

Man Ho and Eun So return to the apartment and ask for CCTV files over the past month. After getting all their files back to the office and checking the CCTV video one by one.

"I thought my eyes would come off" said Eun So who had been in front of the computer for hours.

"I also feel the same way" said Man Ho who agreed with Eun So.

"Stay searching. We will not stop until we find a clue" said Jang Man who helped.

On the other hand Young Min and Ha Ru are in front of Min Jae's house and watching Min Jae who does not come out after returning from the police station.

"I'll buy food for us" said Young Min, who left Ha Ru alone.

When Young Min buys food, Min Jae gets out in his car. Ha Ru follows Min Jae without waiting for Young Min first. Ha Ru calls Young Min and says that she is following Min Jae.

"You take a taxi, I can't wait for you because I don't want to lose him. Later I will give you the address" Ha Ru said and hung up.

After a few minutes of following Min Jae, Min Jae stops at a warehouse far from the settlement. Ha Ru immediately tells her team about Min Jae's whereabouts.

Ha Ru follows Min Jae who enters the warehouse while looking to the right and to the left making sure no one sees her. Inside the warehouse, Min Jae is seen opening a box there.

"Don't move" Ha Ru said as she pointed her gun at Min Jae.

Min Jae raised his hand and turned towards Ha Ru.

"What are you doing here? What's in that box?" ask Ha Ru to Min Jae.

"Are you watching me? min Jae asked as he walked over to Ha Ru.

" Don't move, stay put" Ha Ru said threatening Min Jae.

"Have you ever killed anyone?" min Jae asked ignoring Ha Ru's threat.

"I said don't move or I'll fire" Ha Ru threatened again.

Because Min Jae still ignored Ha Ru's words, Ha Ru was forced to open fire up which surprised Min Jae. Other team members who were close to the warehouse could hear gunshots so they sped up their cars.

"Are you crazy?" said Min Jae who was surprised by Ha Ru's gunshot.

"I told you, if you walk again I will shoot you in the leg" Ha Ru threatened again.

"What do you want from me?" min Jae asked Ha Ru.

"Do you know where Hyo Min's mother is?" ask Ha Ru.

"Are you going to let me go if I tell you?" min Jae asked trying to make an offer with Ha Ru.

"Are you crazy? trying to make an offer with the police" Ha Ru said.

"I also have to get something on the information you get" Min Jae replied.

"alright. I will release you" Ha Ru said.

"Good choices. He's already dead. Hyo Min killed his own mother" said Min Jae.

"Where is the body of his mother now? " ask Ha Ru again.

"What am I going to get this time? What's your body? If you look around you are very pretty, it deserves that Brother Won likes you" said Min Jae.

Min Jae's words make Ha Ru speech silent and confused because Min Jae knows Won. How does Min Jae know Won?
