Chapter 9 - Meaningful Deafness

Ameer couldn't just step back.

He can't forget Meizia and then just go to Hana as his parents want, other than because Ameer has dropped his heart on Meizia, he also doesn't want to hurt Hana. Marry her without love.

Ameer had already opened her mouth to explain, but Jenny kept shouting and beating her.

"I'll report you to the police!"

"Wait a minute, Ma'am!" ameer exclaimed then while trying to fend off Jenny's punch.

"Wait for what, huh? Wait for the police to come?" yell at Jenny again.

"Zia fainted, Ma'am! His face was pale, he was sick!" ameer exclaimed at last with a loud voice that instantly made Jenny speechless.

"Zia?" ask Jenny because no one calls Zia by her last name.

"Yes, look at him!" Ameer pointed at Meizia who was still lying on the floor.

"Jeez, May!" jenny's scream panicked, she immediately approached Meizia and patted the woman's cheek repeatedly. "Wake, May! Wake up!"

"We have to take him to the hospital, his face is very pale" Ameer said.

"Yes, help lift him up! You think I can carry it myself?"

"Why don't you just accept Om's request for Auntie, Dek?" ariana asked Hana. "When they themselves choose you to be Makmum Ameer, it's a dream all girls know!" it was her exclamation that made Hana chuckle.

Meizia blinked for a while as a bright light dazzled her eyes. He heard the bass voice of a man, who knows but no stranger in his ears.

Meizia looked around, she was in a white room and not far from where she lay she saw a man waiting for her. The man was talking to a doctor.

"What's up, Zia? The doctor says your stomach is empty, you're even dehydrated." Ameer said anxiously.

"I'm fine" Meizia said as she tried to get off the hospital bed.

"May!" yelled Jenny who had just walked into Meizia's nursery. "Ah, May! You finally woke up, too, my God. You passed out a long time ago" Jenny said.

"Let's go home, Jen," Meizia asked.

"Doctors suggest you be treated at least until tomorrow morning" Ameer said. However, Meizia seemed not to hear Ameer's voice even as if she did not care about the existence of the man.

"Zia!" exclaim Ameer firmly.

"Please, Jen!" Meizia extended her hand to Jenny as she still felt dizzy.

However, the one who welcomed his hand was precisely Ameer who immediately made Meizia stunned.

"I said you should be cared for at least until tomorrow morning," furious Ameer who even directly forced Meizia back into her bed. Ameer's actions made Meizia stunned, until she could not speak let alone fight back.

While Jenny could only be speechless, this was the first time a stranger cared so much about Meizia.

Since then, Jenny noticed Ameer and the man was indeed worried about Meizia's situation, when she asked what her relationship with Meizia was, Ameer was reluctant to answer.

"You'd better stay here at least until tomorrow morning, ma'am," said the doctor at last and Meizia just lowered her head.

Not long after, a Sister came to bring food for Meizia. "Thank you" said Ameer. "Let us take care of it."

Ameer put the food on Meizia's lap and told the woman to eat it. "Run it, Zia."

"Why are you doing this?" ask Meizia at last.

"I care" replied Ameer spontaneously.

"We only met a few times, you don't have to care" Meizia then sighed with teary eyes.

"I don't want to care either, but here...." Ameer touched his chest. "Here I care about you, whether it means anything or not to you or not, I don't care. I just follow what my heart feels!"
