Pursuing the Details of His Love Tasbih
Chapter 21 - Time to Choose

"I'll be a little late coming home, Ummi," Ameer told her mother, who was talking to her on the phone.

"Where are you going, Ameer? Tonight Hana is the same her parents want to go home she said," said the mother from across the phone.

"I have a little business, Ummi," replied Ameer. There was no way he could tell the truth nor could he possibly be lying, so it would be best if he did not tell her that he was currently on his way to the hospital to visit Meizia.

"Yes, but not for too long. It's cloudy outside, Ameer. It looks like it's going to rain and it's Maghrib, where do you pray?"

"I'm going to the mosque soon, Ummi," said Ameer who saw a mosque not far ahead. "Let me call again, Ummi, Assalamualaikum."

"Waalaikum salam."

After hearing the greeting of the mother, Ameer immediately drove his car faster so that he quickly reached the mosque.

Arriving there, Ameer became the center of attention because of her battered face. Ameer could only throw an awkward smile at the person who was looking at her.

When ablution, Ameer unconsciously grimaced. It felt quite sore, especially in the bones of his cheek and on his lips.

Ameer had wanted to pray alone, but he saw the imam of the mosque so he chose to wait.

The joint prayer was performed, in his prostration Ameer pleaded with all souls that Meizia might get help from the Lord of the universe.

After the prayer was over, he continued his journey to the hospital.

He again looked at the note given by Jenny to check in the room what number Meizia was in.

"No 171, 3rd floor," murmured Ameer.

He got into the elevator to reach the third floor, he walked quickly to find room number 171.

However, it turns out that Meizia's room is guarded by two men who are burly. Ameer was forced to find another way to meet Meizia without having to face the two men.

Ameer saw a Doctor passing in front of him and the Doctor was holding a medical suit. Ameer followed the man who entered a room and he put his suit on the table. Ameer quickly took the suit, not forgetting that she also took one mask to cover her battered face.

After that, he rushed to Meizia's room. And sure enough, the two men only looked at Ameer but did not stop Ameer.

"Mayezia?" call Ameer gently and open the mask.

While the one called out at this moment lay pale on the bed, and Meizia was wide-eyed to see Ameer let alone the face of the man battered.

"What's wrong with your face?" meizia asked but Ameer put her finger on her lips, asking Meizia not to speak out.

"What are you doing here?" asked Meizia who was now lowering her voice.

"I'm confused looking for you" replied Ameer.

"To fight for your rights" replied Ameer who immediately made Meizia stunned.

Ameer approached Meizia who was now silent with teary eyes, Ameer's gaze fixed on Meizia's bandaged left arm.

Sure enough, the woman again challenged death.

"I'm looking for you to take you away, Zia, to take your rights, to fix your life and restore your dignity."

Meizia's tears instantly spilled along with it she laughed blandly because Ameer's words were too beautiful for her.

"I have no dignity" said Meizia, her lips smiling. However, it was a sneering smile that was fixed for himself. "Mama always said that I was born of sin, brought sin and would live like that."

Ameer shook his head softly and said, "No child in the world is born to sin even though he is born of sin or as the sin of his parents, Meizia."

"But the fact is," Meizia said as she wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

"You misunderstand me because what you understand is the wrong person" Ameer said. "We all live on this earth, and nothing escapes sin. And we live on earth where blessings and sickness exist, you just have to choose what to step on, Meizia."

"I've tried to choose, Ameer," Meizia's sergeant who appears to be starting to get emotional. "Since I tried to choose not to be like Mama, I even tried to get Mama out of her dark world. Butwhat? I'm trapped."

Meizia's eyes reddened, tears streaming more and more down her cheeks but she kept wiping them.

Simultaneously, there was the sound of lightning striking which was followed by a drizzle.

"Even when you extend your hand and I want to reach for it, that bad destiny comes to me. As if to affirm that I can't choose" Meizia said again in a choked voice. "It's all over."

Ameer's heart was like being squeezed at the sight of the wound and despair in Meizia's female eyes.

"It's not over yet" Ameer said. "Come with me now then you'll see there's so many options out there."

Meizia looked at Ameer and the man looked very serious as usual. "This time I won't let my guard down, I won't let you go back to that place." Ameer was reassured.

"Is there really a choice out there?" ask Meizia to make sure.

"There's." Ameer replied firmly.

"What if I still can't choose?"

"Hold my hand let me choose for you."

"What would you choose for me?"

"The road to His love's prayer beads."
