Mama For Mikaela

Mama For Mikaela
EIGHTY THREE

He said, life will feel calmer if we have sincerely accepted all the provisions of God. This afternoon, Segara tried to cultivate it sincerely in the heart, little by little until there will be no more anger that he brought for years to make his sleep never calm.

In front of Karenina's tomb, accompanied by Lana, the man crouched down with a straight gaze staring at the gravestone bearing the name of his late wife. A Lily flower she had placed on top of the red earth mound. A beautiful bouquet specially made by Lana on the wishes of the woman herself— said, as a special offering for Karenina who had lived long enough in the heart of Segara.

To go fully sincere, Segara knows the process will never be easy. However, looking again at how many gifts God had given to him so far, he was determined to step more steadily.

Karenina is gone, her love is at peace in the paradise that all mankind longs for when they die. So, as a living, Segara realized that he could no longer cry for her as much as yesterday. It must not hinder the path of Karenina, must not make her remember the painful things in the world.

“You can go, Honey. Leaving quietly, leaving without having to worry left me and Micah in grief. You can rest comfortably now, I won't keep you here much longer just so I have a reason to keep the grudge in this chest.” He said, while wiping Karenina's headstone and trying hard so that her tears did not fall.

“The bastard has already received a penalty, and I hope it is a price he deserves to pay.”

Today, the verdict has been read. Astanu which has caused the loss of lives of some people and made some others in trouble was given 25 years in prison. Whether it was a decent number, Segara was not even sure everything would be a draw if said the barbaric man beheaded in front of his eyes though. However, he did not intend to protest anything. He accepted all the judgments given by the court, approving them without much resistance.

Apparently, releasing something that was originally grasped was not that bad. After deciding to accept whatever punishment was given to Astanu, Segara felt the tightness in his chest reduced a lot. Anger is certainly still in his heart, but now it is not as big as it used to be, and he believes everything will soon subside.

“Now I have a new family, but you have to know that you’re still in it. You're still part of my little family, Ren. You are still a part of us, and forever will remain so.” He said again, this time while staring at his wife's beautiful bead that faithfully accompanied with the condition of the stomach that was getting bigger.

“Iya, right, Darling?” ask him to Lana.

The woman next to him smiled, then her hands slowly cupped Segara's, tightening their fingers in a warm link.

“Yes, Sister Karenina will always be a part of our small family.” Said the woman, also staring at the headstone with shady eyes.

The sincerity that emanated from the smile on Lana's face has managed to make Segara's heart warm. He was lucky to have her as his wife. Because in reality, women are jealous creatures, and he is not sure if there are other women who are as wide-hearted as Lana, he said, the one with the breastplate received the existence of another figure even though his body had been far from the reach of the eye.

“You already know the answer, even if I didn’t say anything.” Reply Lana, her smile still lingers, as if nothing in the world could obliterate her genuine smile.

Segara nodded, then a kiss he gave to the back of Lana's hand. “Thank you.” Her speech.

Thank you for Lana's willingness to be a connecting mother to Micah. Thank you for Lana's willingness to be his wife, even though Karenina's shadow still persists. Thank you for Lana's willingness to have her baby. Thank you for everything.

In the rest of the time he had, who somehow God would call him home, Segara had decided that he would only be more grateful instead of condemning what had happened. In the rest of his time, who knows how much longer this is, he has decided to really live better. With Micah, with Lana, with their future children, also with the figure of Karenina and all the memories that she left for her.

“Thank you.” He said once more, and it was the last before the two of them got up, walking hand in hand leaving behind Karenina's rainbow-covered night.

Life is not over. Other storms may still be away occasionally. But now that they have clasped hands with each other, hopefully things will be easier to pass.

...-welcome- ...

Halleoooo... I haven’t been here for a long time, thanks to you who are still faithfully waiting for this story in the update even though the schedule is no longer regular.

Just like my previous works, this one is still far from perfect. However, thanks to your presence who are still willing to read and leave a trail of support, this work can still be continued to the end, amid the uncontrollable routine in real life.

Again, thank you for reading through to the end. May good things always come into your life, and you are always given health and happiness.

Greetings from me that are far from perfect, hug far for all.
