Half-eleven nights, with a cigarette tucked between his fingers, Segara stood on the balcony of his room. The wind gushed down his tired face, slapping him many times just to make the heavy sigh of the man escape unavoidably.
His head is very noisy now. The matter of Rudi receiving the order to convey the threat to him would still have to be investigated further. But on the other hand, there was a more urgent matter for him to think about the solution.
This is about Micah. Since Saturday's incident, the house is no longer a safe place to leave the boy while he works. While the office is in a busy condition because there are some things that need to be taken care of along with the sudden change of leader. He could not simply take away the responsibility that had been entrusted to himself. Because in his hands, not only Papa's name is at stake but also the lives of hundreds of employees.
Behind her, on the doorstep of the connecting room with the balcony, Arkana stood with her back against the wall. From a few minutes ago, the man was there, watching himself from a distance without saying anything.
Segara knew Arkana was there, he could even hear the sound of breathing very slowly, clashing with the rustling of trees blown by the wind. It's just that he doesn't seem to have the strength to turn his back or just get the man to talk from his place. As a result, during those minutes as well, the two of them just kept quiet, letting a silent laugh because they had succeeded in ruling.
Segara looked at the smeared cigarette between his fingers with a subtle smile that was subtle. In fact, since Micah was born to the world four years ago, he has hardly ever smoked again. Whenever his heart was agitated and restless, he would just take a stick and play it as it is today. Never turned on, let alone wiped out. Unless the fret is completely outrageous, then he will turn it on and suck nicotine from there until the smoke enters the chest cavity.
And tonight, Segara decided to light his cigarette.
The blazing fire from the lighter in an instant had successfully ignited the cigarette, leaving the bright red embers burning amidst the dark conditions of the balcony. The lamp above Segara's head had been dead for days, and he had no time to replace it with a new one.
Or maybe he didn't want to. For the dark is the fitting companion when a thousand ridiculous thoughts invade his head. For dark for Segara is the best way out of the noise of the head.
The cigarette began to be smoked in a slow motion, as if it wanted the smoke from there to travel slowly through its throat before it reached the lungs. Of all the smoke he breathed, only a small part of it was blown back into the air. The activity he did repeatedly, until the coals that burned the tip of the cigarette moved more greedy, spread to other parts and ate all parts of the cigarette containing tobacco until no longer left.
Segara sighed when he realized there was no more tobacco that he could suck. As for lighting one more cigarette, he had to walk back to his room and he was reluctant to do so. Because it means he has to turn around and meet face to face with Arkana.
Segara wanted to continue pretending not to know the existence of the man behind him. Because there were too many things that he did not want to discuss with the man right now.
Finally, inevitably, Segara gave up his smoking activities finished up here. He turned off the remaining coals that were still trying to burn the remaining cigarette parts and then put the butts that had been completely extinguished on the balcony wall.
For a moment, Segara looked at the cigarette butts he had just left. Suddenly he felt the cigarette butts were like himself, who was now helpless after the flames of anger burned him to nothing.
But thinking about it anyway, he still did not mind. Although the flames of anger would devour him again and again, he still would not extinguish it because only then could he have the determination to find out which bastard had already dared to intrude on his life. Didn't he just have to pretend in front of Micah that everything was fine?
In the midst of his head-dropping, Arkana suddenly made a sound, making him cluck in disdain because honestly he wanted the man to remain silent. Segara wanted to spend more time fighting with the contents of his mind, until satisfied, to death. But Arkana has foiled his plans.
"Do you want another cigarette, Bruh?" After that sentence, Arkana walked over to him. In an instant, the man was already beside her, thrusting a cigarette at her with a face that was too difficult to read.
"Thanks." -." Segara grabbed a cigarette from Arkana's hand, but he no longer intended to light it. His desire to smoke has been lost since then, along with the airing of Arkana's voice that managed to break down the scenario that he had assembled in such a way in the head.
So, a cigarette is back just a resident in between his fingers.
"Gue sent Micah's files to daycare." Arkana says. Segara was not aware since when there was another cigarette tucked between the fingers of the man. "His partner said, Micah can be deposited there from tomorrow. But still, it's up to you. If you're not sure, don't." Then Segara saw the cigarette lit.
In the next few seconds, silence returned to power. Arkana was engrossed in every smoke he smoked with a straight-forward look, falling on the ranks of tall trees along the complex streets that looked lonely in his eyes.
Or maybe he was the one who was lonely. Ever since the only precious person in her life died, Arkana felt she was already familiar with the loneliness that was quietly crawling up into her heart. In fact, it is never left in a quiet place. Every day he wrestled with many crowds, but loneliness never pulled over even though the boisterous in his head was also increasingly noisy as time went on.
Next to him, Segara did not do much either. When he secretly glanced at his sister-in-law, Arkana only found Segara staring at the cigarette stick tucked in his fingers. There is a sad smile that is unseen even though it is not obvious. Then the pain slowly crept up into his heart when he realized there was a lot that had changed from the man.
In the past, the Segara he knew was not like this. From the first time he introduced himself as someone who loved Karenina until they both finally decided to get married, he knew Segara as someone who was friendly and smiling. The man cares and is too sensitive to the circumstances around, it is also what makes him able to meet with Karenina and eventually fall in love.
But since the death of Karenina, Segara is no longer the same figure. That warm smile was rarely seen by Arkana. And even worse, the man is now completely blindfolded to the surrounding conditions, it turned into a cold figure and was too indifferent to people if it had nothing to do with Micah and the people he cared about.
Segara became focused on his sadness over the departure of Karenina, as well as the ambition to find out the truth behind the accident that befell the woman in order to avenge the perpetrator. Arkana felt that Segara had lost himself.
"Daycare is active from what time to what time?"
