Lana's not used to waking up during the day, even if it's a holiday. Because from childhood, both parents have taught to wake up early so that they can pray and exercise lightly before starting the activity. The habit carries over until she grows up, and it's not something that harms her so Lana thinks it's okay to keep doing it.
Today, Lana plans to spend her day off reading books. Right next to her room, there is a small reading room where she keeps dozens of books that she collected since she was in high school. The types are diverse, ranging from novels, comics, even to scientific journals he has. Oh, don't forget also the cookbook that he bought a few months ago, which ended up being left dusty because he did not have time to read and practice the recipes in it.
His steps would swing towards the reading room, when the phone he had left on the nightstand rang so loudly. Lana flinches, because usually she will activate silent mode while on daycare. He only activates the ring mode when at home, even then as a form of anticipation in case someone from daycare needs it at any time. So far, no one has ever called outside of business hours, so he was a bit confused when he found a row of numbers on his phone screen.
Such types of phones will usually be ignored without much thought. He did not have so many friends, nor was he a typical famous person whose contact number would be searched for, he realized that. So this kind of phone mostly he considers coming from fraudsters, or sales who want to offer their latest products. That's why he ignored her.
But somehow, his finger sprained when he was about to press the red button to reject the phone. As a result, connect the phone, so he inevitably had to attach his phone to the ear. Before long, he would usually only wait for a few seconds to know if it was a prank phone, or even an important phone coming from an unexpected person.
“Halo,” sweep. He wasn't sure what his voice sounded like across the phone, he didn't care.
Instead of a scam phone, or sales, or whatever it was, Lana instead found the voice of a small child greeting her back from across the phone. For a while, he fell silent, trying to recognize that familiar-sounding voice.
“Miss Lana! It's Micah!”
“Mikha?” suddenly, Lana's voice rose. Not the kind of high voice due to anger, but rather the high voice that came from unexpected enthusiasm. “What's up, honey? You need something?”
“Miss Lana is at home or not?”
“There, really. Why?” without trying to hide her whereabouts, Lana answered Micah's question honestly. “What do you need, Honey?”
“Mikha wants to play at Miss Lana's house now, can you?”
“Mikha wants to play at Miss?” Lana repeats Micah's request, just as a way to convince herself that she didn't hear wrong. “Now?”
“Iya! Can or not?”
It didn't take longer for Lana to say “Bby.” With a smile that was engraved so indians. Three days ago, he did offer Micah to come visit in case the boy got bored. Who would have thought that the boy would come to visit so soon? Lana's happy, don't ask anymore.
To Lana herself, Micah was like a piece of diamond she found on the way home. Something precious, that he wanted to take care of. The light emanating from the boy's round eyeballs seemed to give Lana illumination, helping her to walk again after she had stopped because she was locked in a dark that was so rotten.
From across the phone, Lana could hear Micah talking to someone, maybe her father. Then not later, the boy again voiced by saying they would arrive less than an hour ahead. The phone disconnected after that, and Lana couldn't help but smile as she imagined how bright Micah's face was now.
...****************...
Oh. It was the only thing that came out of Segara's mouth for the first time when Arkana explained about a woman named Lana to her. In a simple way, the young man chose Micah's “Miss sentence which lo anterin home the other day.” As an alternative to not wasting much time.
There were a lot of questions that actually came up after that, but Segara decided to keep it to himself because he could not waste this opportunity to make Micah forget about his previous wish—about having a mother.
Ten o'clock, it's still too early to pay a visit to someone they don't even know. But in order to reduce the turmoil that made Micah carefree, Segara finally managed to pull his car in front of the gate of the apartment complex owned by Lana.
Shortly after her car stopped, a woman with hair and a little curl seemed to run from the inside of the gate. The strands of her hair that were left to be scattered in the wind, but the woman did not seem to mind at all, instead smiling so widely as the car glass she lowered that she saw Micah's existence in the passenger seat.
Segara's weakness is only remembering names, not looks. And based on her recollection from the afternoon a few days ago, the woman who was now standing by the side of her car, linking her fingers with Micah's, looked different from the one she had last seen. Perhaps it was because of the clothes used as well as how the woman styled her hair. At that time, the woman was wearing a semi-formal shirt suit and long pants with her hair neatly tied. This time, the woman appeared in a slightly oversized sweatshirt in white and black training pants, and well, as already seen, the woman's hair was left unraveled.
“I can park the car where?” segara asked after making sure Micah and Arkana got out of the car. Yes, Arkana also participated, because Micah refused hard if he had to go alone with him.
“In front there is a special guest parking, sir, just park there.” Lana replied while pointing at the spacious front page.
Segara nodded in understanding, then re-applied his car into the gate that was still opened by a security guard. He took the time to throw a smile at the security guard, as a form of courtesy towards fellow humans.
Meanwhile, Arkana who was left behind with Micah and Lana outside the gate started swinging her steps after Lana did it first. He followed behind the woman, patiently refraining from overtaking Lana's short steps as she was too busy joking with Micah who was in her arms.
Originally, Arkana had only allowed herself to be left two steps behind Lana. But then, he instead made himself stop stepping when all of a sudden, he was like looking at the figure of Karenina, instead of Kelana.
“I swear, Brother, I feel that women look the same lo, and I don't know why.” He muttered alone.
Segara's screams that later echoed became an alarm for Arkana not to daydream longer. Hurriedly he swung back his steps, following Segara who had waved his hand as a signal for him to come quickly.
