Awkwardly? Of course, because this was the first time he brought a stranger into his apartment. However, Lana still tried her best to entertain Arkana and Segara as a guest. All the food and drink stock she had in Lana's refrigerator took out, presented to two adult men sitting side by side on the sofa in the middle of her apartment.
“Please.” His words invited Arkana and Segara to enjoy what he offered up front.
“Thank you.” That's Segara's voice. Arkana responded to Lana's earlier remark with a faint smile as she reached for a can of soda.
Micah, the boy who had been his favorite since the first day they met, was on the floor, near his father's feet while playing a stuffed rabbit he gave a moment ago. Lana could not let go of the boy's gaze, even though she knew the two grown men behind Micah's small back kept watching her in silence.
“Miss,”
“Ya?” Lana's moving closer. He glanced briefly, at Arkana, also at Segara. Each of them got a three-second ration of brief glances, then he crouched down in front of Micah and fully devoted his attention to the child.
“Miss Lana want to be Micah's mommy?”
“Uhuk!!” there was a coughing sound coming from two people at almost the same time. Although she herself is also surprised by Micah's narration, Lana finds Arkana and Segara showing a more surprised look than her.
“Mikha don't ngawur.” Segara put back the soda can that contained not had time to swallow properly. From the tail of her eyes, she glanced at Arkana who seemed to be just as surprised as she was. “Don't say anything weird with Miss Lana.”
Being told that, Micah even frowned. The rabbit doll that had been loved so far, was suddenly thrown on the floor, making the owner look at the innocent object for pity.
“Mikha only nanya.” The boy tried to avoid. “Nothing, is it, Miss, if it's just nanya?” he continued while looking at Lana with his adorable round eyes.
Lana who was being asked such a question, plus the horrified gazes from Arkana and Segara, clearly did not know what to answer. It might indeed sound like a random question coming from a 4-year-old, he could nod his head for a proclamation. But seeing the shocked reactions of the two men before her, Lana clearly knew that this could be quite a serious problem if she mispronounced.
“Eung—“ Lana hangs up her words, she moves the reflex of biting her own lower lip as her head is busy thinking about what answer she should give to Micah, which could satisfy them all.
“Miss Lana is not comfortable, so you have to stop here.”
Lana's head lifted, her gaze immediately met with Segara who now showed a serious look.
“Daddy never taught you to make others uncomfortable, right?” soft, but it sounds firm. This is how Lana would describe how Segara spoke to Micah at this time.
Yang was told not to answer, instead pursed his lips while playing his tiny fingers with his head lowered.
“Mikha? Listen Daddy said what?”
“Listen.” Sahut the boy. But his gaze was still brought down, looking at his own fingers which were now getting busy moving uncertainly.
“I’m sorry, Miss. Micah promises not to like that anymore.” Micah said in a half-whispering voice.
Somehow explaining it, but Lana felt her heart ache when she saw Micah showing that gloomy look before her. From the day they first met, this was the first time for him to see the cheerful Micah become like that.
“It’s okay, Micah.” This is one stupid part of a Kelana Larasati. Perhaps, he impulsively grabbed Micah's tiny hand, which was still in Segara's grasp, so that the man's hand was also touched by him.
“Oh, sorry!” Lana exclaimed as she let go of her hand quickly. Unlike her shadow where she would find the man before her angry, Lana instead found him reacting to nothing. So relaxed, as if nothing had happened, Segara let go of his grip in Micah's hand.
“Here can smoke?” segara asked suddenly, it was fitting when their gazes met.
Kelana Larasati is not a typical charmed one, no matter how handsome the men she meets during her life. But in the moment when his gaze with Segara's property met in the longest time as they knew, Lana felt that dark bead had its own charm that was able to make her drown. He almost forgot Micah and Arkana who were suddenly silent.
“Oh, incidentally, I don't smoke, so—“ Lana doesn't continue her remarks. I don't know, his tongue suddenly twisted when again Segara looked at him more intense.
“So? Can't you?”
“Sorry,” says Lana. Honestly, he hates cigarette smoke. During his life, his father never smoked and all the friends he met almost did not smoke.
“It’s okay,” said Segara, then the man looked back at his daughter who had been neglected. “Daddy want to go out for a while, want to smoke. You are here the same Om Ar, can?”
Micah just nodded.
“Good. Daddy won't be long, so don't be naughty. Remember, don't ask that weirdo to Miss Lana again, got it?”
“Understanding, Daddy.”
Segara broke Micah's hair. “Good girl,” praise. Then, the man got up and walked towards the exit. Leaving her daughter and sister-in-law with Lana.
“Miss,”
A whisper in the air. Lana turned her head, and it turned out to be from Arkana. “Can we talk to you for a minute?”
