As far as running, in the end Segara was still brought back here, behind the desk with a pile of files that by looking at it—he had been made a headache. The last project is still open and wants Segara completed as soon as possible, in fact until this moment there is still no progress seen. Because there are always small problems that come, making a plan that he neatly arranged in the head forced to be overhauled in some parts.
On the long sofa opposite her desk, Adella was painstakingly compiling a report. He had specifically asked the woman to help him reassemble some of the messy reports, simplifying it into the easiest form to be understood by his head that is increasingly full of various things.
Previously, he had told Arkana to return before lunch, but he ended up in this stuffy work space with Adella until now it was almost 4 pm. Really, it feels, Segara has lost a lot of control to things that are happening around him lately.
“A little more report is finished, sir, I will send to your e-mail, as well as prepare the hard copy.” Adella said that while raising her head, momentarily releasing a gaze from the laptop screen on the table.
From behind the desk, Segara nodded in understanding. He himself was not being careless and just watching Adella who was struggling with the report, he was also working, researching the files that the pile so much higher just because he lived a few days.
After the statement that came out of Adella's lips, there was no sound. The woman again busy completing the report, while the man began to careless with a row of letters that over time made his vision more blurry.
With a low sigh, Segara released the brick glasses that hung on his nose. He sorted his own nose while closing his eyes, trying to expel the dizzy that suddenly ambushed without permission.
In the darkness he had encountered during that close eye, the shadow of Karenina who had met him last night came back. Just like her last presence, the woman also seemed to smile and her entire body shone. Last night, he also had a dream of the woman present with the same circumstances, making him wonder, what is the implied purpose of the more frequent emergence of Karenina in the last few days?
Is it a sign that she is still there, and she does not need anyone else to help care for Micah? Or just the opposite, that the woman is trying to give her permission to be able to realize the desire of their daughter to have a mother?
Segara sighed softly when none of the answers he managed to receive from the monologue he did secretly. At the end, he opened his eyes again and gradually rose from the chair to make Adella turn to him with a confused look.
“Del, I have to go home now.” Segara said, while reaching for his suit that was draped on the shoulder of the work chair and the car keys lying on the table. “If you still want to use my workspace, it's okay. But later please you turn off all the lights, and do not forget to lock, yes.”
“I continue in my room only, Sir.” Greeting with that, Adella tidied up some sheets of paper scattered on the table, then got up from the sofa while hugging the files along with her laptop as well.
Segara just nodded, then they walked in tandem out of his study. They split up at the end of the hallway, where Adella entered the room while Segara continued walking towards the elevator.
Ting!
Along with the clinking sound of the elevator doors opening, a single notification also appeared on the phone he held tightly in one hand. Inevitably, after he got into the elevator and pressed the bottom button, Segara checked the incoming message he had just received.
From Arkana.
Where are you, Segara Adhitama? Since when does lunch time go back far until 4 pm, huh? This is your fussy child, ask to see the beloved Miss Lana.
That's how long I actually chat lo. For Micah's sake I relain pegel hand I make chat beginning doang.
Don't forget, take a day care first!
Once again, Segara sighed. Why ask mom? And why should Lana? But until the elevator gets him to the basement, the question still doesn't get any answers.
...----------------...
Say Segara has gone mad. When he should have just gone home without listening to Arkana's chatter about taking Lana with him, he ended up here instead. In day care? Nope. He followed Lana to her apartment. Right, apartment. Because when he came out of the office, the road was so jammed that he did not rush to pick up the woman in day care, had already gone home first.
Many times Segara considered calling Lana, it might have been 15 minutes he sat quietly in his car to consider that. But at the end of the day, she puts her phone on the dashboard and hopes that Lana will emerge from behind the gate, welcoming her with a smile that unfolds as if she already knew that she would come.
Cuneiform! Yes, obviously that won't happen! Lana is not a superhero who has the super power to read minds, she is just an ordinary human being, just like herself.
“Duh,” complains again, again and again. Lately, it feels like he has been complaining more for all the things that happened. Though he himself knows best that complaining will not solve anything. Half 7 nights, and Segara still can't take action to call the woman.
The ringing of the phone that then came suddenly made the worried Segara immediately jerked. The flat object lying on the dashboard roared, demanding to be touched immediately for the goddamn ring to stop.
But instead of grabbing the flat object and picking up the incoming phone, he daydreamed, looking at the name on his phone screen for quite a long time. Like a fool, who can no longer think clearly.
Miss Lana. As soon as he named the woman in his contact list. At first, he only wanted to write Lana, but when you think about it, it was a bit impolite because they were not that familiar.
Falling in love can make a person slow in thinking. But Segara does not need to experience the name in love to be able to feel how his brain is not able to work properly anymore.
Because, when the ringing of his phone stopped, leaving a sign of a missed call, then his body was willing to move to reach the innocent flat object.
“Wah, Segara turned out to be a block.” The mess. Maybe just realized that he was actually more stupid side, just covered with a handsome face and his dexterity in doing various things. For something to do with the heart and others, he sucks the most.
