A girl in her mid-20s was busy tidying up some files on her desk when a woman appeared from behind the door and walked into her cubicle. Kelana Larasati, or often called Lana, frowned when she found Grace as the owner of daycare where she worked came with a girl in a sling. Though he said the registration was closed a few months ago and there will be no additional children who enter this daycare.
"Miss Lana, meet our new member, her name is Micah." Grace said with a big smile.
Lana had only been working for two months on this daycare, and during that time, she had hardly seen Grace smile this wide and sincere before. The smile that Lana always saw from the woman in her mid-30s was a pleasant smile that she deserved to share with the parents and guardians of the children entrusted in this daycare.
So, seeing Grace be able to smile that wide made Lama wonder about who the girl was carrying now.
"Hello, Micah." However, he greeted the little girl kindly. If Grace introduces the girl to him, it means that the boy is between 4-6 years old, according to the children he used to teach everyday.
Unexpectedly, the girl in Grace's arms smiled at him. The kind of innocent and innocent smile that in an instant managed to make his heart warm. Lana walked closer, reached out her hand, showing her palm to the front of Micah's face which the little girl immediately responded to.
"You can call me Miss Lana." He said introduce himself.
"Miss Lana." The little girl recited her name in a funny way that made her laugh.
"Yes, Miss Lana." Lana nodded her head with a big smile.
"Mikha was entrusted to us specifically by one of my acquaintances, so please give her more attention."
Lana turned her eyes towards Grace. Finally, the question was answered before. He finally knew why Grace was so eager to introduce Micah to him.
"Yes, ma'am." Lana nodded in understanding.
Then, there was no further conversation after Micah's small body turned into her sling and Grace passed from there. Some of the other teaching staff in the same room as him seemed to notice Micah with a twinkle in the beads of their eyes. Lana's faintest smile led Micah to meet them one by one.
Miraculously, Micah also seemed enthusiastic about getting to know everyone in the room. It didn't look awkward at all and was afraid of the new people he met for the first time.
"It's so pretty you Micah."
"Mikha what age?"
"Pinter is not crying."
"Mikha's such a henchman."
And various other sentences are spoken alternately from their lips, making Lana's smile wider because she silently approved every sentence that came out of the lips of fellow teaching staff.
Then after the brief introductory event was over, Lana moved out of the study. He took Micah to the room where the other children were playing while being watched by the nanny staff. As she had expected, Micah looked so happy when they reached the doorway and the little girl saw her age friends playing.
There were seven children in the room, three boys and four girls. Two of them (all women) were 4 years old, just like Micah. So Lana immediately moved closer to the two girls who were now busy playing cooking for the sake of introducing Micah.
Lana lowered Micah from the sling, immediately crouching down to be able to align her body position with the children playing it.
"Hello, Leah. Hello Nala. Introduce, this is Micah, our new friend." Lana said in a cheerful voice.
The two girls, who were playing, turned their heads, looking at Micah for a while before extending their hands together. Micah who had two helping hands coming to him simultaneously seemed confused to decide whose hand he wanted to reach first. And that made Lana chuckle softly.
"You can start with this girl." Lana said as she pointed towards the girl with short black hair by the shoulder. "His name is Nala, you can start with her."
Micah according. The little girl shook Nala's hand for a while then turned to another brunette-like girl named Leah.
"Leah, Nala, please take Micah to play, okay?" lana said with a widening smile.
The two girls nodded in unison. Then Lana turned her attention to Micah who was still crouching in front of her two new friends.
"Mikha, you can play with Leah and Nala. Be a good girl, okay?" said.
Micah nodded and in an instant the boy had already mingled with his two new friends. Lana smiled faintly as she looked at the three girls before her who were now chattering, talking about everything that only her fellow children could understand before she finally got up. He had to return to his study to prepare materials that would be taught to children after they played.
"I picked Micah up, yeah." He spoke last time to a staff nanny before actually leaving.
