Mama For Mikaela

Mama For Mikaela
FIFTY NINE

Lana was made dumbfounded for a while when Segara casually thrust one box of the latest phone output to him. Afterwards, the man walked away without saying anything. Doesn't explain what the phone is for, who it is for, doesn't even say where it is going. Whether down to come for breakfast, or just hurry to go to work because the clock has shown at 07:15 am.

Outside, the sun was shining. His light that barged in through the air vent gap panned right into Lana's body, making her look like the main character in a drama, where the scene is he is being made speechless because of the actions of the other main characters.

Ha... It's still morning, why does he look like such a fool?

Lana lowered her head in slow motion, staring at the cell phone box in her hand still with the same question; What is it for? Who for?

The only one who could answer that question was Segara, then before the man disappeared somewhere, Lana rushed over. Hurriedly he stepped, half ran out from inside Segara's room, down the stairs in a hurry to almost fall rolling around dramatically. Only to be made to moan disappointed because when he arrived downstairs, the sound of the roar of the car echoed filled his sense of hearing.

Segara is gone. The man had already left for the office by leaving himself still like a fool.

Lana's shoulders dropped, like there was just something with super strength that absorbed her energy to the point of exhausting, there was no more left for her to use for the rest of the day.

“Mommy!”

Even to hear Micah's cheerful cry coming from the kitchen, Lana was unable to. He just turned his body slowly, then forced the edges of his lips when the boy whose hair was now being draped was running towards him, laughing cheerfully with Zero (the Segara family pet dog) running chasing behind.

“Help me! Mommy, help me! There's Zero!” Micah cried out hysterically, followed by a blaring laugh when his footsteps lost quickly to the little white poodle who had already pounced on his small legs. “Oh, no! Zeros! Don’t bite me!” if there were no laughter afterward, no one would know that the two equally adorable little creatures were just playing around.

Laughter and cheerful cries increasingly sounded lively, while Lana was still only able to become a spectator because her energy was taken away has not returned as well.

Until then, Micah who was stuck because it continued to be attacked by Zero suddenly dropped to his feet, making his body almost strung backward.

“Helpppppp....!!!”

“Zero, stop.” Lana said that to the dog, which was miraculously, well understood. The feather boy who was aggressive once playing with Micah is now sitting still, moving his tail while looking at Lana with his cute round eyes and tongue sticking out. “Good boy.” Praise him, as an appreciation because Zero listened well.

“Thank you, Mommy.”

Lana turned to look at Micah who was still struggling at her feet. He smiled, the cell phone box that had confused him half to death and then he just put it on the floor when he crouched down to reach Micah's body into a sling. “Hmm ... already fragrant. Where to go in the morning to shower?” lana asked as her nose sniffed the scent of talcum powder and telon oil pouring out of Micah's body.

“Opa would like to take Micah for a walk,” Micah brightly with so his spirit.

“Opa? Same Oma too?”

“Papa will return to the office? Kirain Pak—oh, Segara, kirain Segara will continue to replace Papa.” He and Margaretha then walked together towards the middle room. The cell phone box has been forgotten. Margaretha who had passed through it was presumably unaware of the existence of the object.

“Which country you want to be asked to permanently replace Papa. That's a kid if it wasn't for his papa getting sick, wouldn't want to go into the company. From a long time ago, the ideals he wanted to be a father of the household, work from home so that he could take care of children. I don't know, Mama herself doesn't understand why she can have thoughts like that.” Margaretha told me at length.

In between those conversations, Margaretha recalls how shocked she was when the only child she hoped to be a successor in the company came to her and her husband, who was, ask permission to get married just a few months after graduating from college. He knew his son had been in a serious relationship with his lover, but it never occurred to Margaretha that it would be the beginning of an idea to marry young.

At that time, under the shade of the golden twilight sky, Margaretha was silent for quite a long time before giving an answer accompanied by a long sigh. Segara was stubborn, exactly himself. So even if she and her husband say no, the child will still get married the way she wants. Rather than asking for permission, Segara's remarks that afternoon did sound more like a notice. Inevitably, accept not accept, Margaretha and Damian only need to hear and swallow it. No objection, no rejection. That's how they finally let their only child bear the status of a husband in a few months later.

“State with his late wife, Karenina, have been dating since they went to college. During the relationship, there are many attitudes Segara changed, in a good sense, of course. Therefore, when Segara asked permission to get married, Mama Sama Papa had no choice but to agree. Karenina's a good person. Despite growing up without parental affection, he was still able to grow into a human being. Arkana is proof. He managed to raise Arkana by himself, concurrently the role of father and mother.”

Lana does not know why Margaretha suddenly opened a conversation about Karenina, but she was grateful because from the beginning she was curious about the figure of the woman who managed to melt her husband's heart. What Lana believes is only limited to Karenina being a good person, although she cannot specifically know how good the inside side of the woman is.

A few seconds later, the situation went quiet again. When they decide to sit on the long sofa of the living room and let Micah return to play with Zero, Lana knows their chatter will last longer, revealing more facts.

“Lana,” Margaretha chanted her name so quietly, sounding graceful. Then when the woman's palm touched the back of her hand that was on her lap, Lana was like being taken back to a time where she still had a mother. The gaze given by her mother-in-law further washed her away, making her no longer feel lonely after all this time. “Karenina good. Karenina's great. Karenina has everything that Segara wants to get from the side of a human being. For Segara, he is perfect.” At the end, there was a soft sigh that Lana did not understand what it meant.

Even so, Lana remained silent. He is still ready to listen. Whatever it is. As much as any facts about Karenina that will be revealed to him. Lana will accept gladly, keeping it inside her head as a reminder that; she is perfect.

“Love Segara spilled for Karenina. So much so, maybe he himself thinks there is no left to give to others. But, Lana, with you here, it's enough to be proof that in fact the love that Segara has is still a lot. He just didn't realize it. He simply refused to believe that his heart was still fit to be filled by anyone else, other than Karenina.”

“Mama does not know where you first met, when you began to be interested in each other, and what finally made Segara decide to marry you. What Mama knows, Segara so looks alive after that. He lost half his life after Karenina's death, and since there was you, half of those lost lives have slowly gathered again. It only takes time to make her full again.” Margaretha's hand, which had originally been resting on hers, began to move, giving a soothing swipe.

“You must be confused, yes, why did Mama suddenly talk long gini?” the woman chuckled after asking, while Lana honestly nodded her head.

The rarity ended with the rise of a sincere thin smile. “Do not get discouraged.” The woman said after that, it was not enough to answer the question she had previously asked herself. “State may look like dead love with Karenina, but that doesn't mean she can't love the same great love for you. Worrying he wants to marry again has made Mama sure that the love she has for you can be the same— or even greater than the previous one.”

Hearing that, Lana's lips thinned. Highlight Margaretha's eyes look hopeful, like finally relieved because the son she loves managed to rediscover the spirit of her life after a long time.

But, what would happen if Margaretha knew the truth? What if the woman knew that the reason her son was married was only for Micah's sake? So that the child no longer feels lonely and misses the figure of a mother?

The morning where Lana finally regained the energy that evaporated out of nowhere, she instead found there was a corner of her heart that felt pain.
