The sun was already high when Segara led Micah to his car. After the nightmare incident, Segara needed to accompany Micah in order for the girl to go back to sleep until around seven o'clock.
In his other hand, Segara carrying a medium sized tote bag. Inside it contained all of Micah's personal needs, ranging from a few favorite toys and also a set of P3K boxes just in case.
Arkana had told her that the facilities at the daycare where she was going to leave Micah were very complete and that there was nothing else to worry about, but as a parent, she was very concerned about, Segara could not simply entrust his daughter to someone else without any preparation.
When he was about to open the middle car door so that Micah could enter immediately, Segara's movement stopped because of the presence of Bi Surti. The middle-aged woman walked towards him from the front gate with a clear look of fear. His hands squeezed and his head slightly lowered in order to avoid eye contact with him.
Upon arrival in front of him, Segara saw Bi Surti staring at the large bag he was carrying and Micah took turns, there was a mixture of wonder and curiosity when the beads of his eyes ran from one object to another.
"Where is Mikha going to go, Mas?" tanya Bi Surti was afraid. His gaze was still not separated from the large bag that Segara carried.
"From today on Micah I leave it to daycare, so Bi Surti just focus on cleaning the house. Don't make dinner, I'll prepare myself." Segara said firmly. He was not angry at Bi Surti, because the woman was not wrong. He just wanted to show that his decision was unanimous, and nothing could shake him.
"This has something to do with Rudi, huh, Mas? The boy made the same mistake as Mas Segara?" Now, Segara no longer saw fear in Bi Surti's eyes when the woman raised her head. He saw the woman looking worried. Either worry about his son, or worry about his job being threatened with loss.
"It has nothing to do with Rudi." Segara Lying. He decides to keep this matter only between himself, Arkana and also Rudi. Other people don't need to know, even if it's Bi Surti. Because after all he still did not know much about the reason Rudi received the order. "I just want Micah to meet more of his peers, and learn a lot of new things." He continued because Bi Surti still put on a worried look that was too obvious.
"Daddy," Segara looked down, looking at Micah pulling his pants.
"Why, Honey?" tanyanya slow. For a moment he ignored the existence of Bi Surti who was still reluctant to move from where he stood.
"Can we go now? Hot." Whine the boy. His face was already flushed by the sun, so Segara nodded without hesitation. He opened the car door and immediately sat Micah in the middle seat, fitted the seatbelt and then closed the door after putting the carry-on bag on the side seat where Micah was sitting.
"I was in a hurry, had to drop Micah to daycare first before leaving for work." Segara said, only to make the middle-aged woman in front of him shift the body in order to give him access to the road.
Segara did not say anything more, he immediately turned his walking body to the driver's side and went straight into the car without waiting for Bi Surti to pass from his place. After swiping the seatbelt, he stepped on the gas pedal and the car drove straight away from his home court.
Along the way, Segara could not fully focus on the road ahead. Several times he was busy glancing at Micah through the front rearview mirror to see the expression on the boy's face.
But he got nothing. It was too difficult to read the contents of the boy's head, so when he glanced over again and found Micah leaning his head against the windowpanes and his gaze pointed at the road they were walking through, Segara could only sigh slowly.
About 20 minutes of travel they traveled until they arrived in front of a three-story building with a large yard. The building was surrounded by a high fence and there were two people in black uniforms standing guard at the front gate, automatically moving closer when they saw Segara's car parked in front of the gate.
One of them, who had a big hair with a tall stature walked to the side of Segara's car, knocked his car glass slowly and immediately showed a friendly smile when the car glass was lowered and their eyes met.
"What do you need, sir?" ask the man who Segara estimated his age around the early 30s.
"I want to take my son. It's the first day he comes in." Obviously Segara, who suddenly invited a frown on the man's forehead.
"What's your name, sir? Let me confirm first to the administration, because as far as I know, registration has been closed since three months ago and there is no additional quota anymore." Said the man, still with a friendly tone and a smile that was still imprinted.
"Allena Michaela Adhitama. Name of guardian Segara Adhitama." Segara.
The woman seemed to speak to the man earlier, and Segara could only watch all the scenes in silence. Until finally the man nodded and the woman who had walked towards his car.
"Sir Segara?" tanyanya.
Segara nodded. He hastily removed the seatbelt and got out of the car so he could talk more freely with the short-haired woman.
"I'm Grace, the owner of this daycare." Said the woman introducing herself as she reached out and smiled kindly.
Segara grabbed the helping hand, shook it briefly with a pleasant smile then immediately pulled his hand back.
"Every night Ar called me, after a long time. I think the world must be close to doomsday because the boy wants to contact me again. Apparently, the world is not about to end, but the boy is trying to keep his new world." The woman said as she glanced at Micah who was still sitting in the middle seat.
Segara's forehead was clearly wrinkled when he heard the words of the woman before him. Because he doesn't understand the meaning at all. About Ar and his personal life was never at all a realm that he dared to enter. Although she had become close over time and her relationship with Karenina grew serious before deciding to get married, Segara never heard Arkana tell her about any woman.
And again, this woman looks more mature if she wants to assume this woman as someone who might have a special relationship with Arkana. She may be in her 30s, and Segara is not convinced Arkana has an interest in older women.
"Ar was once my student, sir. On some occasions, we often spend time discussing things. Until he finally flew to Canada for further study and the boy did not contact me at all." Obviously the woman, as if she could read the big question mark that was in Segara's head. His smile is still on.
Segara was silent for a long time after hearing the woman's explanation. The doubts that had been along the way still haunts him slowly faded as the fact revealed that this woman had a good relationship with Arkana. Suddenly he felt guilty for the child because he had indirectly doubted the recommendation that the child gave.
"Can I bring Micah in now?" ask the woman named Grace again when Segara never said anything.
Segara nodded after his consciousness reassembled. He deftly walked to the side of the middle car, opened the door and immediately grabbed Micah's small body into the sling. Not to forget also he brought along his tote bag which was immediately greeted by Grace who apparently followed him behind.
"Thank you." Segara said as the woman's hand took over her tote bag.
Grace simply replied to him with a faint smile. Then his gaze descended on Micah who looked calm in his father's arms. There was no fear emanating in the two round beads of the boy, inviting amazement that is very in the mind of Grace because most children who first come to daycare will definitely whine at her parents for fear of being left alone.
But Micah is really another. Even as Grace's hand extended forward, the boy unhesitatingly leaned his body towards Grace so that he could easily take Micah into his carrier.
"Please help." Said Segara while gently swiping to Micah.
Grace nodded. His smile was still impeccable, even wider when Segara landed a sweet kiss on Micah's cheek before resigning himself.
"Daddy stay at work first, honey, you're a naughty prank." His words were immediately replied with a nod by Micah.
After that, Segara really resigned. His sturdy body moves quickly back into the car and without waiting for a long time the car moves away from the daycare area. Segara still had time to glance through the rearview mirror to make sure Grace had brought Micah inside, then he gased because actually he was too late to come to the office.
