Mama For Mikaela

Mama For Mikaela
THIRTY-ONE

Lana once heard someone say that not all women can be mothers. There are some who give birth to cute babies, but end up unable to take care of them until the innocent babies do not get a decent life. On the contrary, there are some women who do not give birth to children from their own womb, but can be so painstaking in caring for the children entrusted to them, giving unlimited sincere love, until they died, it was the bloodless status they held.

For Lana herself, motherhood never seems easy. Caring for innocent babies, showering them with love, and educating them to grow into useful adults is not something that can be done just by learning theory from a book. It takes time, energy and willingness to learn more. And until this moment, Lana knows she is still not in the portion that is enough to be confident to be a mother for anyone.

But look where he is now. With a nightgown that was only folded using a sweater, he sat next to a patient bed in the VVIP room of a famous hospital in Jakarta, his hands busy moving a spoon, he said, he poured the porridge into the mouth of Micah who was sitting on the bed with a pale face.

Last night, almost 1 in the morning, he received a call from Segara. The man reported that Micah had a high fever and that the boy continued to confuse his name. Lana was clearly panicking, because all she knew, Micah had indeed been absent for 3 consecutive days since the crying scene in day care because the mood of the child had not improved. He did not expect Micah to fall ill, even more unexpected when he was told that the boy was looking for himself instead of someone else.

Lana's sure she's not motherly, at least not yet. But after receiving a call from Segara and he knew where Micah was being treated, he hurriedly came up with a condition that was nothing good at all.

“Udah, Miss.”

Lana lowered back the spoon filled with porridge, not intending to force Micah to eat more because after all the boy had put in a few spoons since.

“Drink first,” he said while thrusting water toward Micah. He was happy to help Micah drink by holding his glass.

After Micah drank, the glass he had returned to the nightstand, along with a bowl of porridge which he had been holding. When he was about to return to his position, his gaze was unintentionally rubbed with Segara, who was now sitting on a long sofa near the door with Arkana.

Not wanting to linger making eye contact, Lana immediately withdrew. His attention returned he devoted entirely to Micah. Many times he asked what the child needed, or what was uncomfortable. But Micah's answer was still the same as when he first came in with a dull breath a few hours ago. That the child just wants to be accompanied to sleep, hugged can also lose.

It wasn't a difficult request, so Lana complied. He carried Micah's body into his lap, letting the boy sleep while hugging him, leaning his head against his chest.

Meanwhile, in his seat, Segara was unceasingly arguing with himself. If until yesterday she was still adamant that remarrying was the last thing she wanted to do in life, then now, after seeing how Lana was so painstakingly taking care of Micah, she said, she thought that it would never hurt to persuade Lana once again.

But, how is it? What kind of deal could she offer the woman so that she would be willing to be a mother to Micah, for at least the next 2 or 3 years?

“It's just the same,”

Segara turned his head towards Arkana who had just spoken. Just like him, the young man also did not take his eyes off the interaction between Micah and Lana.

“So she's willing to be a connecting mother for Micah, and on the way suddenly you fall in love with her, I don't think Kak Ren would mind.”

The Arkana she knew never misjudged anyone, so to the point where the man said that Lana was good enough to be a connecting mother to Micah, she trusted him. However, in the part when Arkana far away thought that there was a possibility that he would fall in love with the woman, Segara felt disliked.

“Lo knows best that no woman can shift Karenina.”

After that long sentence, Arkana got up. The young man hurt both hands, pretending to be the coolest man when he walked up to Lana and offered to take turns holding Micah.

While Segara he left alone, the more crowded clash with the contents of his own head.

...----------------...

In an instant, Micah and Lana transformed into two magnetic poles that attract each other. Micah who is usually quite selective in choosing people who can be close to him, as if not apply that limit to Lana, and vice versa.

“Miss want to go home?” micah asked as Lana got up from her seat and seemed to tidy up the sweater that I had pulled.

“Iya, Darling. Miss must go home first, must change clothes.” Lana replied with a faint smile. One hand rubbed Micah's head, breaking the boy's fine hair with his anxiety.

Hearing her beloved Miss was about to leave, Micah pouted. “But Micah still wants to be Miss Lana.” He just whines.

Those who stood not far from them could do nothing. Unlike usual, the man was even more silent because to be honest, Arkana's words grew louder in his head, making his concentration split so as not to be able enough to tear Micah away from his tiring whimper.

“Later Miss afternoon come here again, Darling.” Lana tried to understand. Actually it doesn't matter if he has to be here all day, because it's Saturday and he doesn't have any agenda to do. But, well, she also had to take a shower and change clothes so that she could at least appear more decent.

“Appointment?” tagih the boy while pulling out his little finger.

Lana happily greeted the little finger, then linked it to her own. “Appointments.” With a gentle smile.

“Fyi aja, Miss, but this leak can not be promised, because if it has not been kept, he will continue to the end of the world though.” Arkana. Just tell me, in case Lana does not know how the real character of Alena Mikaela Adhitama.

For the complaint, Lana also revealed her sweet smile. “I know, Sir. I will not promise if I can't keep it. Later in the afternoon, I will actually come again.”

After that, Lana resigned herself. He politely declined Arkana's offer to take her home.

Arkana can only resignedly let Lana pass from his view, while Segara is still not moving from his original position.
