On the terrace day care, when all the children had gone home, Segara sat with a bright view. Located 1 meter away next to her, there was Lana who was also sitting there with a gaze hovering on the golden stretch of sky above them. Micah has been brought home, by Arkana who was also told by Grace about the condition of the little girl.
The young man had run in a hurry, sweat soaked his body to make the suit he was wearing almost entirely wet. He came because he was worried about Micah's situation, willing to leave important work in order to see firsthand the condition of his beloved nephew.
“Sorry, Daddy, but Micah really wants to have Mommy.”
Micah's sad whimper again sounded loud in Segara's ears. He did not expect, his silence for the last few days turned out to lead to the explosion of the child's emotions. To him, still with tears filling his entire round face, Micah said that he could not resist his desire to have a mother.
Then, at that point, his longing for Karenina was like gushing out, like the lava that had long been buried in a volcano, celebrating his freedom by hitting whatever he went through, destroying him, mercilessly, with no intention to stop.
If you want to follow Arkana's proposal about finding a temporary surrogate mother, Segara may be possible. But, would he also be able to refrain from going any further later? What if her original intention was just to find a mother for Micah, instead ending up making her bring another woman into her heart, replacing Karenina?
Can't do. Segara will not be able to betray the woman, not the least he can.
“But, Ga, pity Micah if I have to kayak it continues.”
Fuck it, Arkana's voice was even present in the midst of the rampage that enveloped Segara's mind, making everything seem more complicated and very difficult for him to find a way out. Arkana's proposal made no sense, but to find a better alternative, Segara was unable to.
Right now, Segara only has Micah. The center of the world is the boy. So if the child is sad, he will feel the same way, it could even be many times sad that he feels than the little girl herself.
However, once again, if what could make the child smile again was something that would make him feel evil to Karenina, would he be able to comply?
“If you don't mind, I'll try to talk to Micah.”
This time, Lana's voice was actually echoing right next to her, not just shadows like the Micah and Arkana voices she had heard before. Segara turned his head towards the woman, finding himself being stared so deeply by the owner of the clear eyes next door.
Sounds like a good idea, but Segara did not immediately nod his head in agreement. Again, everything was difficult because she was well aware that Micah was a copy of Karenina. It is almost impossible to make the child forget what he wants. Moreover, when it could make him cry like this afternoon. That means Micah's wish is completely unanimous, there's not a single thing in the world that can put him off.
“Thank you for your concern, Miss, but Micah is not a typical easy to persuade.” Finally, Segara conveyed that fact to Lana. He just didn't want to make Lana exert too much energy, because he already knew clearly how it ended.
Lana didn't say anything after that. He returned his gaze upward, fittingly when a bunch of clouds were marching away from his initial position, looking like chasing with the sun that was a little more going home to the contest.
Then all of a sudden, Segara returned to his voice, only to make him look at him with a look of disbelief. The man said, “If only, this was only if only. What if I fail to talk to Micah, and she still wants Miss Lana as her mother?”
Maddened. Not sane. Minted. Idiots. What's again? What else is a word whose meaning is similar to the words just mentioned? Because right now, Segara is trying to curse himself.
She might have told Lana about what if Micah wanted a mother. He could have said that to a woman he had only met for less than a month, and he still occasionally mispronounced her name. He could have been rash, just because he was dizzy with Micah's difficult request.
But how else, he had already spewed out that sentence, he could not swallow it back. So all he can do now is resign, wait for the woman next to him to give an answer even though he knows most likely he will be rejected.Furthermore severe, he will be reviled.
Segara saw Lana straighten her back, then the woman pulled back the view and then sprinkled it back up. “To be a mother, doesn't one have to be ready from all aspects?” asked the woman, Segara believed the question was addressed to him, although now Lana still continues to look at the sky above them which slowly turned dark.
“I'm too young, too dumb to be a mother to Micah.” Then, Lana turned to look at him. “This is not about me being ready to be a temporary connecting mother or not. It's about how the fate of Micah will be, if he really has to be nurtured by a completely inexperienced person like me.” At the end of the sentence, the woman smiled. Not the type of smile that is common, but the type of smile that will be compared to cover the pain that is being suffered.
Segara was stunned, fixated long enough to look at Lana who was still reluctant to remove her thin smile. For Segara, the smile was disturbing, making him feel guilty for no apparent reason, making him feel sympathy for something he didn't even know the cause of.
“I don't know how hard it is to persuade Micah, but if you allow me, I will try. Micah is a good boy, he is also intelligent, I am sure he can read the situation.” After saying that, Lana got up. “It is almost night, you should hurry home following Micah. If you need help, and if you think I can help, please do not hesitate to contact me. Excuse me, I have a job to do before I go home. Come, Mr.” Then the woman passed, leaving Segara who increasingly did not know what to do in the future.
