Mama For Mikaela

Mama For Mikaela
FOUR

Segara arrived home at 10 over 15. After cleaning himself, he rushed to Micah's room next to his room through the connecting door that connected his room with the princess's room.

Segara's heart that was originally filled with rumbling slowly warmed when he saw his daughter was sleeping soundly while hugging a beloved teddy bear.

Micah's plain face while sleeping reminded Segara of Karenina many times more than before. The boy's neat eyebrows, small nose, and pliable eyelashes really resembled his mother. It is as if God deliberately presents the figure of Karenina in another form, because He has written down the destiny for the woman to go faster than her life.

Segara walked closer, then sat down on the edge of Micah's little bed and gently stroked the child's kingpin's cheeks. These few months, he was too busy taking care of the company to the point of not realizing that Micah's straight hair was getting longer. In the past, he himself took care of the boy's fine hair. Starting from incubating, drying, combing even sometimes tidying the edges with his own hands.

Never once did he ask anyone for help to take care of Micah. He would stay up every night to make sure Micah slept well and was not fussy. But under the current circumstances, she must inevitably entrust Micah to the housekeeper she had worked with since the beginning of her marriage.

The housekeeper was employed only from Monday to Friday, from 9am to evening when he had not yet returned home from work. Not staying over, because Segara still can not let anyone live on top of the same as him since the departure of Karenina.

“Mikha, Daddy misses you.” Segara carried Micah's little hand in front of his face, dipped it briefly and then held it tightly.

“Doain Opa to heal quickly, yes. Let Daddy can have as much time as you like first again.”

After saying so, Segara laid down his body next to Micah. Although the mattress owned by his daughter was smaller than his size so that he had to curl up, Segara did not mind at all. He just wanted to sleep hugging Micah, holding her tight because he still did not know what other events might make him lose time with his daughter.

“I love you, Dear. Daddy love you.”

...----------------...

The loud ringing of the cell phone that was helpless on the floor made Segara blink his eyes slowly. Before his consciousness gathered, his outstretched hand grabbed his cell phone then directly stuck it to his ear.

“Halo, Segara. Are you awake yet?” a voice greeted from across.

Hearing the typical soft voice of his mama, Segara suddenly opened his eyes wide. He immediately sat himself. His forehead creased faintly when he saw that Micah was no longer in his bed. I don't know where the boy went, because usually Micah would be very noisy to wake himself up if the boy woke up first.

“Newly wake up, Ma. How?” tanyakanya. He moved down from Micah's little bed, through the connecting door into his own room.

It was then that he found Micah sitting on the sofa by the bed, watching television with a can of lap biscuits. Segara's smile rose as he walked slowly toward Micah while waiting for Mama to answer his question.

“Can you go to the hospital today? There's something the doctor wants to say.”

Segara's hand that was originally raised to caress Micah's hair automatically came to a halt in the air. Next to his eyebrows raised, trying to understand what his mother had just said.

“Papa okay, right? The last time the doctor gave a report, Papa's condition gradually improved, kok.” Segara. Quickly dismiss the bad thoughts that perch in the head.

“Papa okay. There are only a few things that doctors want to convey related to the cause of Papa.”'s declining health

“Just you came aja.” Final Mama even before Segara realized from his daydream.

The phone is closed unilaterally. Segara took a long breath. As he turned to Micah, his heart slipped and saw the boy looking at him with a gaze that seemed to say”Daddy, are you okay?”

Hospitals are not a big thing. It's Saturday and he doesn't have to go to the office. The problem was that he couldn't possibly take Micah with him. Hospitals are not great places for children like Micah because they are more prone to contracting various diseases. As for calling her domestic assistant is also impossible because the woman must also be busy taking care of her husband and children.

Long Segara was silent. Thinking what solution was best for him to take at this moment. Until one name finally came to his head. For a moment he hesitated. Should she really ask him for help?

“Daddy, why?” Micah shook his arm slowly, making him turn his head.

“Oh, Daddy fine. Just ... Daddy has to go to the hospital to visit Opa.” The sadness implied clearly from Segara's tone of voice. How not? He had imagined that he would spend the weekend with Micah. Accompanying the boy playing in the backyard, watching the boy's favorite cartoon series then taking a leisurely walk in the garden of their residential complex so that the boy can still socialize with his peers. But again, his thoughts are extinct because they have to take care of Papa's problems.

Not that Segara objected to having to take care of Papa. He just ... how to explain it? He just felt his time was too much drained for anything else so there was not much left to spend with Micah. Isn't it natural that he felt sad?

“Mikha follow.”

“No, Baby. Hospital isn’t a good place for kids.” Segara tried to give understanding.

“Terus, Micah in whose home?” the boy's lips were manyuning, making Segara anxious.

“Wait a minute. Lemme think about this.”

Micah could only wait for his father to finish thinking. Then when he saw his father glancing at him, Micah knew his father had managed to find a solution to their problem.

“Mikha, do you mind if Daddy asks for help with Aunty Pamela to take care of you for a while while Daddy is in the hospital?”

ask Segara. Micah was very selective when it came to choosing people who could be close to him. Pamela was not close to Micah. It's just that the two of them aren't too familiar either. If you meet also just to say hello to each other. It was as if there was a dividing wall between the two that was invisible.

Segara saw how Micah tapped his tiny index finger on his chin. His eyes looked up, seemingly thinking hard. He almost chuckled at Micah's adult style. But he held back because he needed to hear the answer from the boy first.

"It's ok. Aunty Pamela is not a bad person" Micah said in the end.

Segara smiled. I don't know what the standard is for that boy to determine if someone is good or evil. Clearly, Segara chose to believe in the boy's instincts. That Pamela's not a bad person.

"Ok, I'll ask her now."
