وَأَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى سُرُورٌ تُدْخِلُهُ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ

“(included) The most beloved practice of God is the happiness that you put into your brother's heart”

(CHR. At-Thabaroni in Mu’jam Al-Kabir no 13.646, and set aside by Al-Albanirahimahullah)

When we buy the merchandise of our neighbors they will be happy because of it.

Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam also said:

إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ

“that prediction depends on his intentions”

(CHR. Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

So that if indeed his intention is to help, to give alms, to make the little swordsmen happy then he has earned the reward of his intention, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said:

وَاللهُ فِي عَوْنِ الْعَبْدِ مَا كَانَ الْعَبْدُ فِي عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ

“and Allah will help a servant, as long as he will help his brother”

(CHR. Muslims no. 2699)

Even Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam has also said about various ways to give alms:

كُلُّ سُلَامَى مِنَ النَّاسِ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةٌ، كُلَّ يَوْمٍ تَطْلُعُ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ، تَعْدِلُ بَيْنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ صَدَقَةٌ، وَتُعِينُ الرَّجُلَ فِي دَابَّتِهِ فَتَحْمِلُهُ عَلَيْهَا، أَوْ تَرْفَعُ لَهُ عَلَيْهَا مَتَاعَهُ صَدَقَةٌ، وَالْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ صَدَقَةٌ، وَكُلُّ خُطْوَةٍ تَمْشِيهَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ صَدَقَةٌ، وَتُمِيطُ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ صَدَقَةٌ

“every morning inclines, there is a duty of alms over every joint. Reconciling two disputants is almsgiving, helping people to ride in vehicles is almsgiving, transporting goods to their vehicles is also almsgiving, good speech is also alms, almsgiving is also alms, every step towards prayer is also almsgiving, even getting rid of distractions on the road is also alms”

(CHR. Al-Bukahri and Muslim, and this is the lafaldz Imam Muslim no. 1009)

And almsgiving is not limited to it all, the Prophet shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam also said:

لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ شَيْئًا، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَلْقَى أَخَاكَ بِوَجْهٍ طَلْقٍ

“Never once, do you underestimate a kindness, even if only by meeting your brother with a radiant face”

(CHR. Muslims no. 2626)

Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam also said:

تَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ

“Your smile on your brother's face is almsgiving for you”

(CHR. At-Tirmidhi no. 1956, Al-Albani dishahihkan)

And by every means, as long as it is a Shariah-recognized good, God will repay it.

If we mean to give alms, want to help, want to make them happy by buying merchandise, then we will also get the sculpture of the intention.

He who buys the merchandise of others, in order to help them, wants to give them alms, wants to make them happy, then Allah will record his intentions.

And whoever bids wisely, seeks the cheapest price, to avoid extravagance, then Allah will also record the intention, as charity.

So that we need to put intention in our every practice, in order to get reward from God, either when we bid, or when we do not bargain.
