The sea breeze felt very cold for him who was wearing open clothes, his jacket was in the trunk of the motorbike and he was lazy to return to the parking lot. Long hair gives warmth to his cold neck and back, although at the end of the day the woman will be upset because her hair becomes tangled and sticky caused by the sea breeze.
The moonlight covered by the catapult trees that grow along the beach makes it dark, only the mercury lamp from the street that gives a little lighting there.
The woman sits under the shortest catapult tree compared to other, leafy trees that cover a woman as if it looks like a picture in a Disney cartoon. The giant mushroom became a shady place for a fairy whose wings were damaged by getting wet, she just bowed lethargic and felt uneasy. Will he be able to fly again? or no longer hope and accept the fate that his wings have been broken.
From a distance Ira's gaze was fixed on a woman who walked to the beach, she was caught standing letting the waves gently rub her feet.
"It seems familiar" he murmured and looked around and there was no one there but the two women.
"Maybe it's just my feeling," he muttered, but the woman stared at Ira from a distance.
"It looks like he is indeed someone I know," moving from sitting slowly walking towards the beach approaching the woman, he felt confident that the woman was someone he knew.
Similarly the woman walked closer to Ira without turning her eyes, about two meters away the woman stopped and looked at each other.
A woman in her 27s, tall and thin with a distended stomach and mature brown skin stared at her.
"Mister Dina?" Ira said with a trembling body, she could not believe seeing a woman who had disappeared without news for two years.
"Your?" said reassuring.
The two of them smiled with teary eyes, "Ira, the beauty of me," she approached and hugged him.
And so is Ira, "Lo where the hell is he?" hugging her, tears that she could no longer bear fell down her cheeks.
After a while they took off their hugs, looked at each other and laughed.
"Haha, you're getting more beautiful Ra," he said walking towards the spot where he had sat before.
"Well, am I pretty haha, how are you?" they sit on the mat.
"Gue doesn't know. Better or not, I doubt it," he said.
"Nothing I expected aside from the good news," Ira replied staring straight at the dark sea.
"Maybe you know that life always goes beyond our control"
(.....)
They both remained silent for a moment.
*
"Where have you been living all this time? who are you running away with? and why don't you tell me at all? especially me?" Ira said breaking the silence with the question she had been keeping.
"There is no other option Ra, does one of the prostitutes*r want a better life? did Mama Tati talk a lot about me? is Heru his messenger still looking for my whereabouts? I was even like a dog trying to give birth to myself and after the employer found my whereabouts, he re-tied the rope around the neck and dragged me by force to return to the kennel" she replied at length.
"Gue knew Mama Tati was a good woman, her words were always painful, but everything she said was true"
Dina smilingly looked at Ira, "Roko, right?" giving a packet of roko, without saying Ira brought a stick and ignited it.
"Gue knows a man, maybe he's not a good man, but he who wants to accept what I am makes himself feel confident that he will be a way out for me to leave the world of prostitution*ran. After months of planning my next life, I finally ventured to talk to Mama Tati, hoping to get a better answer even though I actually knew what she was going to say," he said about his departure.
"But Mama Tati means tell Heru to nyari lo, it's because he does not know if you have a relationship. Is it natural for her to dance? he's worried about you"
"Gue knows Ra, he must be worried about me. Especially he was afraid of losing me as his main source of income. But however Mama Tati is the most powerful there, even for personal decisions we must seek approval from her. You know for yourself, Ra, how sneaky are the people there? how cruel are men to treat us arbitrarily? we are indeed prostitutes*r, but we are human and female. Not a pet!" he said he berated a place that the women initially thought would be a comfortable home but just the opposite, a real hell in the real world.
Ira was silent, the wound she had been hiding back was painful from her encounter with Dina. The kind woman who held him when Ira was trapped and went into the brothel*ran.
"At least you don't go alone mbak, not just lo, I'm also stuck there. It took a struggle for me out of that damn place, and how much I hated it with the people there including Mama Tati. Even now it still occurs to me, I want it to feel like I have power and take them out of there. Not to destroy, but slowly make Mama Tati difficult because they are slowly disappearing"
"Gue had hoped that too, but now it was impossible. I am no longer a prostitute*r, now I have a family. It's impossible to take them without coming back, but I believe you can help them and destroy everything that's left" he said, causing Ira to stare at Dina.
"Serious mbak? you sure I can?"
"It can definitely be Ra, you are young and brave. If you can't help them stop, at least help them get out and take good care of them. You are mature and understand clearly what they are. Hemmhh, if it should be said clearly, it is enough to be a prostitute*r. Decapitate them and get in control, I know the men you are in contact with are not ordinary people, use that opportunity for yourself and for them too. There is no hell more painful than staying and being Mama Tati's pet"
Ira was silent, her heart really hurt to remember how she spent her days in the brothel*an.
"Heummh, whether you can or not, but I'll try"
"If not who else? use the pain and humiliation you received there as an impulse to destroy everything"
"I can't be lied to I'm not even ready to just remember about life there"
"People say our place is heaven, but why do we feel it like hell?"
Ira looked at Dina's distended stomach, "How old is your pregnancy?"
He rubbed it gently, "7 Months, the man he is," she said smilingly.
"Lo love her?"
"Sane you, he's my son"
"Why do you drink beer? why do you smoke? I don't know what kind of injury you're hurting, but don't do anything to harm your baby, he doesn't know anything,"
Dina smiled with her blank look, making Ira feel confident that the woman had a problem that she could no longer bear.
"But your life is better, isn't it?" tanya Ira made the woman sigh long.
(.....)
They went back silent for a moment.
