Alvin opened his eyes with a hunting breath, sweaty beads on his forehead, looking quite a lot.
Dream of an accident that claimed the lives of his father and sister, continues to come and haunt almost every night.
Adhan's voice resuscitated Alvin from his consciousness that had not yet fully recovered.
It's dawn, inner Alvin.
The teenager rubbed his face with both palms, before getting out of bed.
He first took his towel, then out of the room.
Outside, Darman and Esih had woken up first, they were talking in the kitchen while cooking water to make coffee or tea.
"Grandfather, to the mosque wait for Alvin yes," said Alvin, before entering the bathroom.
"Yes. Cepetan mandinya, later we miss congregation," replied Darman.
"Yes, Cake" cried Alvin who had entered the bathroom.
Moments later Alvin was ready to go to the mosque. He went out of the room, fixing the sheath he was wearing.
"Yuk, Cake," he asked.
Darman nodded, he moved from his seat.
"We left first yes" Darman told his wife.
"Mom, I'm going to the mosque first." Alvin chimed in on Darman while kissing his grandmother's hand.
"Assalamualikum," said the two men.
"Wa'alaikumsalam," Esih replied, looking at her husband and grandson walking towards the mosque together.
Alvin has been in Darman and Esih's hometown for a week. The teenager was able to adapt to living in the village.
What morning here is also there are some brothers from Hardi who easily accept it, and make it friends.
Yes, Hardi does have some siblings. They each already have children, one of which is the same age as Alvin.
Arriving at the Alvin mosque directly met with some people who were about to pray at dawn.
The reception of the citizens to Alvin was also quite good, they were kind, although sometimes there were people talking about their families behind the back.
Alvin is friendly and has a handsome face, making many residents like it, especially during a week there, Alvin also often helps Darman and Esih in the fields, or do other work.
A while later Alvin had walked home with the other village men's grandfather.
"Well, Alvin was so diligent. Still a teenager, but, already want to pray congregation in the mosque," praise one of the neighboring mothers of his house.
"Yes, thank God, Mom" replied Darman.
While Alvin himself only nodded his head faintly while smiling thinly.
Yes, that's how Alvin in the eyes of the neighboring mothers of his grandfather's village, they were amazed to see the figure of teenagers like Alvin. Given there is still rarely a teenager who wants to pray in the mosque, what else for dawn prayer.
Arriving home, Esih had prepared breakfast with coffee and tea for Alvin and Darman.
"Sir, I changed clothes first" said Alvin, after they got home.
"Yes," answered Darman while removing the cocoa shirt and sheath in the living room, then replace it with clothes that are worn, specifically to work into the rice field.
"Come, breakfast first, Vin," Esih said, as soon as Alvin had changed his clothes.
"Yes, Grandma" Alvin replied as he stepped closer to Darman and Esih at the dinner table.
No special food on the table. Only fried yam results from the garden and sweet tea, as well as coffee for Darman.
"Good, Cake," nods Alvin.
The sun was so hot that it began to rise, when Alvin and Esih left for the rice fields, but the time was still showing at seven in the morning.
While Darman has left first, with most of the fertilizer.
Alvin carried the fertilizer left by Darman for him to carry, while Esih brought supplies for them.
"Sir, why don't we go early in the morning like we used to?" alvin asked, as he began to walk down each rice field barrier carefully.
"Nothing, the grandmother had to have a job first in the neighbor, so we leave for lunch" said Esih.
Actually it was just an excuse, Darman did not want to see Alvin too hard to help him, so he told Esih to take Alvin more noon.
There was pain in the hearts of the two old men, as he watched his granddaughter continue to go to great lengths to help them, doing such a rough job.
"Keep, why doesn't Alvin go with Grandpa?" alvin asked, a little protest because he left at noon.
"It's okay, you'll help grandma first at home" Esih replied.
"Oh yeah, besides now you also have to start preparing for school entrance tests and scholarship tests right?" keep Esih again.
"But I can do it tonight, Grandma. It's like I'm still not active in school, so I want to help." Alvin's still grumbling.
"It's okay, if the day is tired the night will be better to immediately rest," said Esih, smiling.
Alvin is indeed an avid child, since he came to the village, the teenager was completely unwilling to help his grandparents work in the rice field.
About fifteen minutes of walking, Alvin finally reached the rice fields of his grandparents.
"You guys, have you arrived?" ask Darman while refilling the fertilizer container.
"Yes, Cake. Here, Cake, now it's my turn to spread the fertilizer" said Alvin.
"Can you?" darman asked, with a dismissive smile.
"Yes, I can't, hehe." Alvin scratched his nape.
"Eat him, Grandpa with Grandma, teach me first, so I can," continued Alvin again.
Alvin's treatment brings laughter to Darman and Esih. "Come, here with grandma, let's teach you later."
Esih and Alvin began to go to the rice fields, while Darman chose a short break to drink water.
"You see grandma first, then try yes," said Esih while starting to spread fertilizer on the rice field.
Alvin noticed how Esih spread fertilizer for a few seconds, until he finally began to try.
It didn't take long, Alvin was able to spread fertilizer well, he smiled happy to see he could do new work.
"Yeay, I can, Grandma!" alvin said while chuckling.
Esih and Darman who were doing other work laughed at Alvin's words.
"Yes yes, granddaughter is smart," Esih replied, giving her thumbs up.
"You're happy, so now you're done until you're done. Grandpa wants to see the others first!" shouts Darman from his place.
"Ready, Cake! I'll scatter all the fertilizer, let him grow!" alvin replied, while continuing to spread fertilizer in his hands.
The elderly couple and their grandchildren finally did their jobs, while continuing to talk in a fairly loud voice, considering the distance between them.
