...Happy Reading's...
......................
The second break bell has been ringing since fifteen minutes ago. Alvin and Imran had just come out from the musala, after performing the prayer of the Zuhr.
"Where are we, the cafeteria or the stall across the street?" imran asked Alvin, walking together out of the musala.
"Cantin is the perfect one" replied Alvin.
Yes, usually Alvin will choose to buy lunch at the stall across the street, which is cheaper than in the school cafeteria.
"Tumben, usually you go to the front stall, continue" said Imran.
"I have to go to the bus before I go in, there's a book I'm looking for" Alvin replied.
"Geez, you have nothing else to do but read a book. At school hold a book, to the house bring a book," said Imran.
He was not exhausted with Alvin who seemed to have no boss to read various kinds of books.
"I can just pinjem to the perpus, make learning materials at home, Imran. No one else, who can buy it himself. So, must benefitin facilities that have been held by the school," replied Alvin.
Imran nodded his head, he did know the limitations of Alvin's ability, he could not do anything, because his family was just a mediocre family.
Both of his parents were farmers, although his father also worked as a teacher in elementary school, not far from home.
Therefore, Imran's parents always try to provide the best education for their children.
"Yes, that means today we eat in the cafeteria, yes" Imran said.
Alvin nodded in response, continuing his steps.
"Where was that class?" Imran walked while embracing Alvin's shoulder.
Alvin glanced at Imran with a frown on his forehead, he had not understood with his friend's question that sounded ambiguous.
"Where's what?" ask Alvin.
"Where have you been looking yet?" Imran smiled seductively.
Imran is among the teenagers who are installment and many seek attention to women, maybe in him there is a female player soul that has not been achieved.
His style of speech is also a little slippery, to make many people easily like it.
Alvin fell silent, thinking about the meaning of the word spoken by his friend and brother.
"I'm not interested" replied Alvin, after understanding Imran's question which turned out to be about women.
"But, has there been a girl who started to deketin you, or ngajak that? In advance you will be quite good, if you make a girlfriend," said Imran.
"I didn't go to school to find a boyfriend. But, find knowledge, Imran," replied Alvin, letting go of Imran's embrace on his shoulder and walking faster.
"Yee, that's fine, Vin. Can make it a learning encouragement, if we have a crush." Imran is following Alvin.
"I don't exist because of a relationship like that. My spirit has been there ever since I decided to move here with Grandpa and Grandma" Alvin replied casually.
"Yes, yes .. I believe in you," said Imran, raising one of his hands, intending to embrace Alvin's shoulder again.
However, Alvin immediately brushed it off while looking around.
"Ngapain anyway? Diliatin tuh," said Alvin while circulating his views.
"Oh my goodness, Vin. We're brothers .. Besides I'm still normal, too" murmured Imran did not accept.
Now that the two of them had reached the canteen, Alvin who had never previously come to the place, circulated his gaze, looking at the situation around him.
It turns out that during a break like this, the canteen looks more crowded. It was a few minutes late than the others.
"What are we eating?" imran asked as he spread his gaze in search of the food he wanted.
In contrast to Imran, Alvin instead sought the price of the cheapest food and can be filling.
"What do you want to buy, Vin?" ask Imran.
"I bought some bread" replied Alvin.
"Well, is that just bread?" ask Imran.
"Yes, I'm still full." Alvin gave an excuse.
But that's not why Alvin chose to buy bread. He felt unbearable if he had to spend his allowance, just to fill his stomach just once a meal.
Instead of buying food as expensive as this, mending home from school I bought duck eggs in Bi Inah to be eaten with rice at home, Inner Alvin.
Alvin took a small loaf of bread and mineral water, for himself.
Suffice it to hold his stomach for a while, the inner Alvin again said, trying to expand his heart, accepting all the limitations he was experiencing at this time.
"Yes, I want to order siomay first" Imran said as he walked to the canteen guard.
Moments later Imran had come with two servings of his siomay, he gave one of them to Alvin who had started eating his bread.
"Here, for you. Coincidentally this morning my father gave more pocket money," said Imran.
Alvin looked at Imran disapprovingly, not expecting his brother to buy him food. Though Alvin knew that Imran's financial condition was not much different from him.
It's just that Imran still has parents who are willing to give him a normal life.
"Girl, Ran. I've had enough to eat bread, '" Alvin refused.
"This is what I paid for, so don't bother. It's a pity that I'll go back again" Imran replied as he began to eat his siomay.
"OK I eat. But, you have to promise me first, I won't believe anymore. If this happens again, I will not eat again" threatened Alvin, staring at Imran's face sharply.
Actually not out of anger, Alvin said that. He simply did not want to continue to owe others a debt of gratitude, even if it was his own brother, like Imran.
Alvin does not want to get used to depending on others, he just wants to get the results of the work he does, not from compassion or pity because of his fate now.
Alvin does not want if later he even felt complacent by the sense of compassion of people to him, until it ends with dependence and laziness, to fight for the future and the purpose of his life.
"Yes, yes .. I promise this is the last time I'll give you a free meal. Yes, now you have to eat" replied Imran.
"Thank you" said Alvin.
Imran just nodded while looking at Alvin's face, with pity in his heart. He could not imagine if what happened to Alvin, happened to him as well.
Maybe now Imran can not continue living and angry with the fate given to him by God.
To be honest, he himself was ashamed and amazed at Alvin, who looked patient and steadfast in facing all the trials God gave the teenager.
Alvin finally wanted to touch the spoon and began to eat siomay bought by Imran.
