ALVIN Trying to Rise
Graduations

...Happy Reading's...

The next day Alvin was getting ready in neat clothes to attend a graduation event in one of the buildings. Grandma, Imran, and Mang Lukman also accompanied Alvin, as a family.

Everyone went by the office car that Alvin borrowed yesterday. After a while, they all arrived at the parking lot of the building. Grandma who had just attended the event with Alvin, was nervous when she saw the appearance of the people present.

They seemed to be wearing very nice clothes as well with beautiful makeup. All the student escorts look like hajat mother in the village, who usually use makeup is no less like a bride.

Most of them use customary clothing of their native region, or at least distinctive fabrics and kebayas, with a bun adorning the head. While Grandma Esih, only wearing the old kebaya clothes that Grandpa Darman bought when they were young, the kebaya clothes were still good and well-groomed, the color was still not faded, the typical batik cloth Sunda Grandma used as her subordinate, as well as the instant veil bought by her mother Imran before coming to Jakarta.

"Vin, is Grandma okay, come with you inside?" asked Grandma Esih, hesitating. He was afraid that he would put Alvin to shame in front of his college friends.

"Well, instead of Grandma here, would you like to see Alvin graduated? So Grandma had to go with Alvin inside" Alvin said without feeling overwhelmed.

"Come, Grandma, we're going down" Alvin asked, opening the car door next to Grandma Esih.

"But Grandma is like this." Grandma Esih still hesitated, she looked down at the clothes she was wearing.

"Beautiful grandma, let's go down, how late will I be?" alvin assured Grandma.

"Yes, Grandma, let's go down." Imran chimed in.

Hesitating Grandma Esih out of the car, he first confirmed the cloth that felt a little tangled because he was sitting in the car.

"Wear this, Grandma, let it be more beautiful." Alvin gives the scarf in matching color with his Grandma's kebaya.

"Well, where's this from, Vin?" wonder Grandma Esih.

"Alvin purposely bought it for Grandma," Alvin replied with a fluffy smile.

"Hows it? Grandma likes it, doesn't she?" ask Alvin then.

"Like it, it's good, Vin. Thank you," Grandma Esih said, wiping the shawl in her hand.

"Yes, let's go in." Alvin gave his hand to Grandma Esih's sidecar.

Esih's grandmother chuckled at Alvin's attitude, she then hooked her hands on Alvin's hands, then walked along, as if they were a confident young couple. While behind him there are Mang Lukman and Imran, they are as if two bodyguards who are ready to keep the safety of two important people in front of them.

They separated after entering the building area, Alvin had to prepare at the back to wear toga and other graduation supplies, while Grandma, Imran, and Mang Lukman headed straight for the rows of guest seats.

Grandma, Imran, and Mang Lukman certainly already feel that they will be the material of attention, with the simple clothes they wear. However, for now the three ignored the strange views of the other invited guests.

Has Alvin been seen like this by his college friends, because he's not from family? murmured Granny Esih's heart.

Really she felt uneasy with the people who looked glancing at her and stealing glances at her, what more did their gazes look debilitating. There were also whispers, talking about them.

"They're a family of college students? Why are her clothes so shabby?"

"It must be the family of one of the students who entered through the scholarship path,"

"Disturbing the scenery alone, people like this are allowed to enter, anyway!"

"Patience, Grandma, let's just say we're listening to a broken radio" whispered Imran, a little berusha melted the atmosphere.

Grandma Esih chuckled, she then nodded in agreement to Imran's words. He just didn't expect that Alvin's life on campus, turned out like this.

Somehow Alvin confronts his friends during college a place filled with people who only judge someone using possessions.

The event went smoothly, now is the time for Alvin to get a turn, the man got a good score, he was ranked third in the same department.

Grandma, Imran, and Mang Lukman stood up while clapping their hands feeling proud of the achievements obtained by Alvin.

After the event was over Alvin, Granny Esih, Imarn, and Mang Lukman, immediately left the building area, there were some friends of Alvin students who congratulated and greeted Grandma and the others, and others, breaking Grandma's bad thoughts that had crossed a moment ago.

"It turns out there are still your friends who can accept you, Vin," said Grandma Esih as soon as they got into the car.

"Kok, Grandma, say that?" alvin was confused.

"So in the graduation room, a lot of people who saw us, continue to whisper insulting us, Vin. So Grandma thinks that all of your college friends are the same as you, too" explained Imran who immediately got a plot from Grandma Imran.

"Oh, not everyone is so, Grandma. Many can also accept Alvin as he is. After all, on campus, it is not only Alvin who receives scholarships. It was already a campus program, which every year must have received scholarship students," explained Alvin.

No he denied that the beginning of entering kulia, indeed quite a lot of underestimating scholarship recipients such as Alvin. However, because he knew Jani, so there was nothing to bully him openly. Only occasionally did he hear the grapevine of people talking about him.

Ah, again his memory returned to Jani, even though it had been more than a year, he did not have to communicate with Jani. He had never even heard from the woman.

Alvin recalled that when he was at the graduation ceremony, Arkan seemed to be with the ranks of the campus officials. She wanted to come over and ask about Jani. However, he did not want to make a fuss at this special event.

Alvin certainly knows, if Arkan still hates him, he can see all of it from the eyes of men who are from Jani.

"What if, we find some good food first, to celebrate my graduation?" alvin's advice to others.

"By tuh, Vin. Incidentally, I'm already hungry" nodded Imran quickly.

"Okay, let's get some food first, before we go home, Grandma." Alvin turned to Grandma Esih.

"Grandmother, come with me" replied Grandma Esih.

"If, Mamang, how?" alvin asked Mang Lukman.

"Hayu, Mamang mah, be ready, if the business of eating mah," Mang Lukman replied coupled with laughter behind his sentence, to make Alvin and the others chuckle.

They also finally continued their journey to find a restaurant that was delicious and suitable for everyone who was there.

Alvin took them to a typical Sundanese restaurant, considering Grandma was not too familiar with other foods.

This time Alvin issued a pretty decent pocket, considering the restaurant he came to, quite large until the price of food was quite expensive for someone like Alvin.

However, occasionally invite Grandma, Imran, and Mang Lukman, eating with a new atmosphere, certainly will not make Alvin think twice to spend a lot of money.

During this time he has often eaten good food, even from a restaurant that is quite luxurious, after he became a secretary of Indira. Given always he was invited to accompany his boss was to have a meeting or meeting with other entrepreneurs.
