One week has passed, now Grandpa Darman's condition has begun to improve, even he has been able to walk around the house since three days ago.
Alvin really took care of his grandparents very painstakingly, he even immediately took Grandpa Darman to the hospital, the next morning after he came. He ensured the best treatment for the old man.
Like this morning, she was struggling in the kitchen, with her various cooking utensils. Alvin no longer allowed his grandmother to cook, as long as she was here. Although Grandma Esih will still help Alvin later.
Alvin deliberately extended his leave, he wanted to make up for all the time lost to his grandparents, even though Alvin had considered Grandpa Darman and Grandma Esih a replacement for both parents.
The nineteen-year-old man felt guilty because he had forgotten his grandmother and grandfather. All this time he only focused on reaching his goals, to forget the people who always supported him from behind.
"Alvin, what are you doing?" ask Grandma Esih who just came out of her room.
It was indeed still very early in the morning, even outside the sunlight had yet to appear at all. However, Imran was already busy in the kitchen with the stove already on.
"Soze the water, Grandma. Just make fried bananas for friends to coffee," replied Alvin.
Now he is used to drinking coffee in the morning, starting only to resist sleepiness when he had to go to college just by sleeping two hours, finally he began to get used to black coffee which made him feel more excited about the day.
"I also make fried breadfruit for Grandpa, yesterday the breadfruit tree behind the house can be taken. Grandma did you try?" Alvin serves breadfruit and fried bananas at the dinner table.
"You're praying?" asked Grandma Esih, while sitting on the bench of the dining table.
Alvin took a glass and poured warm water for his grandmother.
"Already, Grandma," replied Alvin as he shifted the glass in front of his grandmother.
Today Alvin did not go to prayer in the mosque, considering he who woke up late, because last night he coolly accompanied the chat of the patrolling fathers.
Grandma Esih seemed to take a glass that had been prepared by Alvin, then downed the water. Last time he went outside to fetch ablution water, Alvin wasn't in the kitchen.
"Assalamualiakum," a greeting from outside sounded, turning Alvin's face away, with his surprised expression.
"Waalaikumsalam" the two answered. Alvin got up and opened the back door.
He looked surprised to see his grandfather standing with Imran's father beside him.
"Lho, Grandpa, go to the mosque?" alvin asked while asking Grandpa Darman entered along with his father Imran.
"Why not wake up Alvin? Kan Alvin can nemenin Grandpa to the mosque together," continued Alvin, a little grumbling.
Grandpa Darman seemed to smile, he then sat down at the dinner table, right next to his wife, followed by his father Imran.
"Grandfather is at the door of your room. But, you didn't answer, so Grandpa left first" Grandpa Darman replied.
"Sorry, Cake. Alvin had bad luck waking up, so he could not pray in the mosque," said Alvin with regret.
"Well, want some coffee?" alvin asked, while preparing warm water for Grandpa Darman.
"May, Vin, I think it's good, there's a cup," replied his father Imran while looking at the fried bananas and breadfruit on the plate.
Alvin chuckled then shifted the glass filled with water to his grandfather.
"Grandfather not given the color of the water?" asked Grandpa Darman while taking the glass filled with water.
"Ah, if there is you so can not help me," complained Grandpa Darman who was greeted with laughter everyone.
Yeah, they know that Darman is just kidding, even though it's just Alvin who's talking to him. The old man, however, always denied that anyone else would forbid him from eating anything that the doctor, even his own wife, had forbidden.
Though the key to the health of people who suffer from high blood and high sugar levels, it depends on their lifestyle, let alone food.
However, it was all different if Alvin were to speak, he would instantly obey with pleasure. Looks like Alvin was indeed the reason for Darman to stay alive.
Sometimes there was a bad feeling in Alvin's heart when the other Grandpa Darman's children and grandchildren alluded to him, albeit subtly.
"Si Grandpa, if there's already a master, it can be arranged immediately." It was the words of one of Grandpa's sons-in-law, when Alvin came a week ago.
"Yes, you are just like his favorite grandson. If we talk mah, want to until the mouth foamed too, just enter the right ear out the left ear. Not considered!" timpal was one of Grandpa Darman's other grandchildren.
Alvin overhears their conversation on the porch, when he just came out of Grandpa Darman's room. Alvin is not angry or feeling hated by his own family, he knows that behind their spicy talk, they are only worried about Grandpa's health.
They also love him very much, it is all evident when he just came here. They always try to encourage Alvin to continue living life. Sometimes if there is more money, they also often give him pocket money.
"You have Alvin or not, Grandpa must keep eating, so Grandpa is healthy. Alvin wants Grandpa to come to Alvin's graduation ceremony, keep seeing Alvin's success," said Alvin accompanied by a ruckus at the end of his sentence.
Alvin hands over Imran's father's coffee, then sits down next to Darman's grandfather.
"Thank you, Vin," said his father Imran, who was immediately nodding his head by Alvin.
"Grandfather always pray that all grandfather's grandchildren succeed and live happily, let alone you, Vin. Grandfather has always been proud of you, because he has been able to pass through every obstacle and trial in your life," Grandpa Darman replied at length.
"Grandfather is sure, someday you will be a successful person," he continued, patting Alvin's shoulder repeatedly.
A soft smile was imprinted on the old face that was already filled with wrinkles, Alvin stared softly as he felt he could not make Grandpa and his grandmother happy.
For a moment they seemed equally speechless, with their respective thoughts.
"Grandfather, is it hard to get to the mosque?" Alvin broke the silence.
During the illness Grandpa Darman always prayed at home, he was not allowed to walk too far, fearing that his dizziness would suddenly recur in the middle of the road.
"Yes dong, Grandpa is strong," Grandpa Darman replied with a face of sumringah.
"Prince, Grandpa was praying in the mosque. Grandpa also misses chatting together with friends, after finishing congregational prayer," continued Grandpa again.
"Yes, later if Grandpa wants to go to the mosque again, Grandpa should tell Alvin or the others, so we can stop Grandpa, huh?" pinta Alvin with her soft voice.
"Ck, it's like a kid." The old man clucked with a sulking face.
"It's not so, Cake. We're just worried about the same, Grandpa. Isn't that right, Mang?" alvin said while asking for support from his father Imran, so that Grandpa Darman understood.
"Yes, Sir. Later if Alvin can not, you stay to talk to me, let me invite you here," replied his father Imran, agreeing to the words of Alvin.
"Hem, yes-yes." Darman was not willing to agree with the words of his son and grandson.
Though in his heart, Grandpa Darman is very happy to get the attention of his children and grandchildren.
That morning, they spent it laughing together. His father Imran even came home when the sun had started to rise. Because I forget time.
