"Well breakfast, Vin?" asked Lukman from the outside, when Alvin was changing clothes.
Alvin was used to change clothes in the front room, although the door was slightly open, considering the house in front of them was also inhabited by men, namely Mr. Umar.
So, Alvin did not hesitate to change his clothes, without fear of the appearance of women occupants of other rented doors.
"Yet, Mang. I have breakfast in a moment" replied Alvin, drying his hair that was still half wet.
"Yes, if the bachelor who finished bathing, the fragrance until the kiss outside."
It was the voice of Mr. Umar who was sitting together with Lukman, they both seemed to be enjoying the coffee brought from their respective homes, while chatting lightly.
Alvin looked outside he smiled at Mr. Umar.
"It's normal, sir," replied Alvin.
Living with two adult men, makes him quite happy even though he is always the moons and joking material of adult men around him.
Even sometimes the mothers there also often throw jokes or temptations on Alvin. Alvin who is friendly and likes young children, of course easily liked by mothers. Moreover, with a look that is less than the standard word.
Of course it makes Alvin a beautiful sight for mothers who every day spent with various activities.
Some work in the homes of people who are more located, or become freelance laundry workers, who can hold up to several houses in a day.
Almost no one is unemployed, both men and women, all work. Children toddlers are sometimes placed in siblings during their work, or some choose to take them.
Such a life Alvin had seen since living with Lukman, so the contract was only crowded in the afternoon, because at that time all the creatures whose names were women had gone home to work.
Do not suppose that Alvin's attitude is always cold to everyone, not at all. He was just being cold to young women, he did not want to be tempted to be in a relationship first, before his ideals were achieved.
Actually he did not intend to be cold, Alvin only gave a limit so that he was not too close to any woman, at least until he graduated from college.
"Bang Alvin, play ball yuk!" shouted the boy about nine years old from the end of the town.
Alvin slightly stepped forward, in order to see clearly the children who were seen huddling in front of the contract.
"Later in the afternoon, now you have a task again" replied Alvin.
He often plays ball with children on the village field, not far from the contract.
"Well," the boys sighed at the same time, staring disappointed that Alvin couldn't play ball with them.
Alvin smiled he went back inside for that already very late breakfast.
"Sir, Mang, I have breakfast first" said Alvin.
"Yes there, do not let, Lo, get a disease because of late eating," replied Mr. Umar.
Alvin chuckled, he then walked back inside, finishing the already extremely cold rice-seated. I don't know what time Lukman bought it, until now there is no more warmth there.
.
.
At two o'clock in the afternoon, Alvin was contacted by Dodi, and they finally promised him thirty more minutes, not far from where the scrap metal was located.
"Have you waited a long time, sir?" alvin asked, after he got in front of Dodi.
"No, I just arrived too. We have to walk inside, not too far away anyway," Dodi said while showing the road that is not passed by public transportation.
Alvin circulated his gaze, the deeper they walked, the more various second-hand items scattered.
It turns out that this is not just iron. However, it is more like garbage collectors, or second-hand goods, that can be recycled again.
Alvin entered into a room that turned out to be a place of iron, there were a lot of scrap iron from various materials.
"Please, Vin," said Dodi, as soon as he reached the scrap metalworks.
Alvin circulated his gaze, looking at the surroundings that were filled with those scrap iron.
He also had a chance to meet face to face with the owner of the place, which looked quite spooky. His large body with a tattoo on his body, made Alvin shudder in horror. That person was even more sinister compared to Mr. Umar.
Finished with the business of selling iron, now Alvin walked alone with Dodi, to the stall of one of the soto betawi shops.
He said Dodi wanted to buy him a meal, after earning a fair amount of money from selling the iron he had collected over the past week.
"You know, the owner of the scrap metal workshop was a thug, even he said he was a former member of a motorcycle gang," Dodi said as they waited for the order.
"Ooh, it's so serem, '" replied Alvin nodding his head
"Yes, until now he is still a fan of this area. He is very feared by people, so no one dared to open the same business as him in this area," explained Dodi.
Alvin seemed to frown at hearing Dodi's words.
"Kok, sir, do you want to deal with someone like that?" alvin asked, if you knew Dodi was dealing with such a person, Alvin would have avoided it.
"Yes, how else, I have no other choice" replied Dodi.
Soto who was waiting for the two people had come, now two men of different ages were eating together with interspersed with small talk, work problems or the other.
.
.
"Where did you sell the stolen iron?! The heart is asked for a heart, you don't know yourself!"
Alvin clenched his hand hearing the scolding from the foreman. Now he and several others are sitting on the break to be interrogated about the loss of steel cables that should still be used.
I don't know why he was dragged, even though Alvin felt he never took pieces of iron there.
For almost three hours they were urged with questions mixed with rude insults.
Until finally one of them confessed, after the foreman threatened to call the police. At that time, the man was immediately fired from his job.
Alvin sighed, he was not out of thought with the thoughts of such people. Why they can do all that, even though they have been given a job with a decent salary.
"His name is also man, Vin. Those who are greedy will never be satisfied with what they get, even though the money they can no longer count."
That's what Mr. Umar said, when Alvin told me about the incident at his workplace last night.
The words of Mr. Umar always felt confusing, he had to find the meaning first to understand.
However, Alvin likes to talk to men who are almost the same age as his grandmother. Just a few years older than her grandmother.
Without Alvin knowing, the former besieger place he had yesterday was rowdy, with the arrival of the police who suddenly raided because it was known to be a place to store stolen goods.
They also turned out to work with one of the largest gangs in Jakarta who often do legal and permpokkan, on the streets.
.................
What does Alvin have to do with the case? Let's guess🤭
