Alvin was still sitting in the waiting chair when Jani and Indira returned, with a paper bag in his hand.
"You should clean your body first. Your wound must also get immediate treatment," said Jani while giving paper bag to Alvin.
Alvin looked at Jani with a frown, he then looked at the paper bag in Jani's hand.
"This is a change of clothes for you" said Jani again, as if he knew what Alvin would ask.
Mr. Umar turned his eyes to Alvin, he had already told Alvin to receive an examination, so that the wound could be treated before there was an infection.
However, Alvin remained determined to wait for Ganis who was undergoing surgery inside the room there.
"There's me, Indira, and Mr. Umar who will be waiting for your mother here. We will inform you immediately that the operation is complete" Anjani said again, reassuring Alvin.
Alvin seemed to look at Jani with an illegible look for quite a long time, although no words were spoken from his mouth.
"You believe in us, don't you?" ask Janie again.
Alvin lowered his head while exhaling a rough breath, he then grabbed the paper bag and walked away towards the toilet to clean himself.
Jani smiled seeing that. Earlier after taking care of the administration he invited Indira to buy Alvin's change of clothes. Although he was finally mocked by Indira, who seemed to have known that actually between himself and Alvin there was a sense of pent-up.
Moments later Alvin appeared to be walking with a fresher face towards them, though there were some injuries there.
"Well, you can fit that, the clothes you chose for Alvin. I think there is something different about the two of you," Indira's temptation whispered in front of Jani's ear, when she saw Alvin who was still quite a distance from them.
Jani moved his elbow towards Indira's stomach, so that the play would no longer tease her when Alvin was there. Really, he's so embarrassed now.
"Thank you for the shirt" Alvin said as soon as he got in front of Jani.
Jani averted his eyes, in order to hide his smile, he then took the card that Alvin had given him.
"Don't thank you, all that I bought using your money anyway" Jani said with a faint smile on her face.
Alvin immediately turned to look at the look on Jani's face as if he was mocking her. One of his eyebrows seemed to be raised full while looking at the card in Jani's hand.
"Stay still, thank you for buying it," Alvin replied as he received his ATM– card back, then sat down next to Jani.
Jani nodded faintly, then took out a P3K box while shifting his seat facing Alvin. "Now, let me see first, your wounds."
When Alvin took a shower he borrowed some P3K tools to treat Alvin. Jani knew that Alvin would not want to be told to check his wounds on the nurse.
"I'm fine" Alvin said, taking his eyes off Jani.
"What's okay, here let me see first." Jani held Alvin's hand so the man could see him again.
"Shhh!" Alvin fizzed as the wound on his elbow touched Jani.
"Sorry! Any more injuries here?" jani asked frantically, looking at Alvin's elbow.
"Slightly," replied Alvin quietly.
"Little thing, this is bad!" decak Jani while looking at the wound on Alvin's hand.
It turned out that the wound was quite wide and deep, until it looked a little gaping, although it did not seem like it needed to be sewn.
Jani deftly took out the equipment to treat Alvin. His hands began to clean the wound using an antiseptic, then applied betadine ointment and bandaged it neatly.
"Gn ...." Alvin hissed as he felt a sting in his wound.
Indira and Pak Umar who heard Jani muttering while still focusing on treating Alvin's wounds, seemed to hold back a laugh.
"Ekhm!" Alvin seemed to be wheezing in order to contain his embarrassment. He's misbehaving.
Maybe because his mind was only on his mother, so all his injuries did not hurt at all. However, now that his mind was calmer compared to before, the pain was only felt.
Alvin's wound treatment was completed along with the lights of the operation that died, it indicates that the mother's operation is complete. Avin immediately stood ready to greet the doctor with various questions.
"The operation was successful, the bullet was successfully removed. But the patient's condition is very critical. We see until tomorrow morning, hopefully the patient can be conscious before twenty-four hours-" explained the doctor, when Alvin asked about Ganis' condition.
.
Alvin entered the room where the mother was treated after surgery to remove a bullet in her body.
The sound of various tools that sounded once Alvin entered the intensive space, making Alvin's heart ache. Ganis is seen closing his eyes tightly with the breathing apparatus still attached to his body.
Slowly Alvin stepped closer then sat down on the chair beside Ganis's gurney, his gaze twinkling with various flavors in his chest.
"Mama, must be meeting you and Alin now, huh? It's beautiful in there, isn't it, Mah? Alvin's seen it." Alvin said softly, holding Ganis' weak hand.
His eyes warmed as the water began to gather in the fertilizer. The heavy and raucous voice continued to mutter trying to tell a story and speak to Ganis who still looked calm, immersed in his dream realm.
The thin smile that even looks slick, looks painful. Alvin was as strong as he could to look fine, though honestly his heart was broken, seeing Ganis like this.
It feels like all this is worse, compared to the state of his mother so far. Although sometimes Ganis does not know him, at least he can still see Ganis's eyes.
"Well, don't play with Mr and Alinnya for long, Alvin needs Mamah here. Hurry home yes, Mah, Alvin will always wait for Mama," he said as the conclusion of his visit this time, he rose and then kissed Ganis' forehead long enough.
Tears seemed to trickle down Ganis' face, as Alvin closed his eyes, permeating all the love and affection he had for his mother.
"Alvin said goodbye, yes Mah. Avin will return again .... Assalamualaikum," he said before finally upholding the body and then walking outside.
Alvin looked towards the waiting chair. There, Jani, Indira, and Pak Umar still faithfully accompanied him, they had been with him since this afternoon, while Mr. Umar even from morning.
"You better go home first, tonight let me be the mother" Alvin told the three men.
Mr. Umar, Jani, and Indira turned their eyes to Alvin, then looked at each other.
"Yes, you better go home first, let me accompany him here," said Mr. Umar to Indira and Jani.
"But, Vin-" Jani seemed to object to going home.
"I'm fine now," Alvin said as if knowing the woman's concerns in front of him.
"Alright, let me know if you need anything," said Jani, it's not good that he came home late, he was afraid that later Alvin would be blamed again by both his brother and father.
"Eyang immediately left, maybe at night or tomorrow morning he has arrived, tell me that Eyang has come yes, Vin," Pinta Indira who was immediately embraced by Alvin.
"You got a car?" ask Alvin.
Jani nodded in response. After that Jani and Indira parted ways and walked away with a heart that still felt heavy on Alvin.
Alvin looked at the backs of the two women who continued to move away until they disappeared eroded by the distance.
