..................
Late at night, a girl was sitting pensively on the bed, her face agitated, with a cell phone in her hand.
He has not seen or met a man he likes. Since this afternoon his heart was worried whether he should contact her or not.
Now his head seemed to turn, looking at the pile of suitcases in one corner of his room. Tomorrow afternoon he will have to fly abroad with his family.
"Vin, have you really forgotten my sam?" the girl was staring at the phone in her hand.
The screen shows a photo of Alvin wearing Papah's clothes. Looking very handsome and matching, it was the first photo he had.
The tip of his finger shifted, until it changed with photos of himself and Alvin at his graduation some time ago.
"You know what, I miss you, Vin?!" annoyed that girl who is none other than Jani.
"Eh, but you already have a new boyfriend. Surely now you don't want to be the same as me anymore," he continued, in a soft voice.
His body suddenly went limp. Although he continues to try to deny his love for Alvin. However, the feeling continues to grow even bigger.
He who keeps trying to stay away from Alvin, unknowingly injures his own heart and soul. It felt so hard if he had to live without that man.
Jani hugged his knees, drowning his face there, with his faithful cell phone in his grasp. Somehow his life abroad later, without the figure of Alvin who always makes him excited to live life.
Some time Jani still remained in the same position, until the sound of the ringing of the phone made him aghast, even the phone in the hand almost missed due to surprise.
.
.
Alvin just got home from work, today he's overtime, given the huge amount of work he has to do. Out of the office at nine in the evening, she'll be home an hour later.
Along the way his mind continues to be fixed on one name, for some reason he feels something different from the attitude of his best friend.
If you're guessing Jani, then you're good at guessing Alvin's mind. Some days Alvin does feel something has changed from Jani's attitude.
He is eager to ask his best friend what caused Jani to stay away from him, or maybe ask, did he do something wrong, so Jani was angry?
However, work and college activities that began to be very busy, because it was headed for the final years, making the time a lot seized.
Not forgetting, just let alone remembering to send a message, sometimes he even forgot to charge his cellphone, until it ended up being scolded by Mang Lukman, or office people who had difficulty contacting him.
Alvin exhaled tiredly, his gaze turning to the side. Rows of street lights that passed, making it feel even quieter. His hand moved to pick up the phone in his front pants pocket.
His finger began to scroll through the screen, until it displayed the main menu row. Pressing the contact menu, consciously or unconsciously, Alvin stops at Jani's contact whom he names the princess.
The frown on his forehead looked deep, Alvin was puzzled by himself, why he could arrive at Jani's contact.
Did I try to call him? Or go to her house tomorrow? muttered Alvin's heart.
Fun dissolved in his mind about Jani, Alvin until he did not realize that the bus stop had been passed a few meters. In a hurry, Alvin got up and walked out the door.
"Stop, Bang!" his yell.
Alvin went straight out of the bus, so could what he used as transportation to the office stop. He could feel how upset the passengers and bus drivers were, as he arbitrarily stopped the bus lanju instead of where it was.
Walking for a while, Alvin finally arrived at the rented place where he and Mang Lukman live.
From the first time Alvin came to hang out the fathers every night, it was still crowded. A place to simply unwind, due to a day of work, especially for people like Mang Lukman, who is far from family.
"Yes, sir," replied Alvin kindly, he raised his hand while nodding his head, as a sign of greeting the men of different ages.
Yes, actually not only the middle-aged fathers who are there, men who are still single and unmarried also exist. However, they are still older than Alvin.
"Waste you again, Vin?" Mr. Umar who just came out of the house said hello. In his hand was a glass filled with black coffee that was still reflecting hot steam.
"Yes, Sir. Dad, not in the post?" ask Alvin.
"Here, I'm going there" replied Mr. Umar as he slightly raised the coffee glass in his hand.
Alvin chuckles little, "I'm in first, sir."
The two men were of different ages, walking back with their own goals. At home, Alvin immediately put his bag, and walked to the bathroom to clean himself.
A little while later, Alvin had already laid his body on the thin casing that he had bought three years ago, when only a few days had come here.
Both of his hands looked as if he was bearing, his gaze straight up, staring at the ceiling of the rented house, which looked white. The round-shaped lamp that hangs in the middle, looks dead, leaving a dim light from the bias of the lamp outside.
His mind still remained on one name, he was still hesitant to decide. Suddenly he shifted his gaze at that clock with each constantly rotating on the wall.
"It's night, he must be asleep" he murmured, closing his eyes with the back of his hand.
Alvin let out a heavy sigh, choosing to close his eyes even though the phone was still beside him.
While Alvin was trying to sleep, his body and mind were completely exhausted after a long day of work. However, for some reason, he was also very difficult to sleep.
Alvin sat down, picked up the phone next to him, and headed outside. He was sitting in a chair in front of his contract.
"If the phone calls, I'll interrupt him again to sleep" he said looking at his phone screen.
Quiet for a while, as if thinking about something, he knew that tomorrow afternoon Jani would leave for foreign country, therefore tonight his mind is not separated from the woman he has considered as a friend.
^^^Alvin: [Night, Jani. Have you slept yet?]^^^
Alvin shook his head, he again deleted every word he had typed.
^^^Alvin: [Jani, how are you? You're all right, right?]^^^
Alvin again removed it, shaking his head.
^^^Alvin: [Jani, I heard you you want to go abroad tomorrow huh?]^^^
"Akh, why can't I think of gini anyway?!" annoyed Alvin scratched his head which was not itchy at all.
^^^Alvin: [Sorry lately I have rarely forgotten you.]^^^
Alvin again deleted the message he had assembled, he only realized that all this time Jani had always contacted him first.
He chuckled, staring at his empty phone. He sees the last date Jani sent him a message. Turns out it was more than a week ago.
"Assalamualaik."
