24. Towards the City of Dios

"I have just heard from Helen and the Elite Forces who managed to intercept Saronia's forces and capture Dux Eul. Now they have joined Mr. Masserati's Yllgarian army in the city of Ulry" Lucia said as she and Jean were having lunch with Aksa and Nata at her temporary residence.

"I also heard the report, Your Majesty," Nata replied in the middle of her show cutting the roast on her plate.

"Similar news also came from Vossler who was chasing Feymarch's troops towards Meso City." This time Jean added. "Although in the end Dux Austin managed to escape, but his entire army was defeated. Now he and Miss Versica are in Meso City with Miss Corvette" he continued after swallowing food in his mouth.

"No other troops to help them?" Nata asked back.

"Nothing" replied Jean quickly.

"That means a sign that Vistralle does not have a reserve army" Nata said later. "Yes, unless Tyrion gives him help" he added.

"Yes, that's right." Lucia seemed to agree with Nata's words. And began wiping his mouth with a napkin after putting his knife and fork on the table, before returning to speak. "And according to reports from Miss Joan's spy network, Tyrion did send troops to Ceodore. But it looks like the relief force will make it very difficult for us."

"Why is that, Your Majesty?" Nata looks curious.

"Because Tyrion sent the Union of Lycan Fighters, Blood Moon. Their union was notoriously savage and fearless" Lucia replied later.

"In the early days of the invasion of this region, the Union managed to finish off nearly a hundred of our soldiers despite being equipped with Firearms." Jean obeyed. "And they are only about 30."

"Just like the number of our Elite Forces" Aksa chanted suddenly.

"Are you going to summon the Elite Army to confront them on the battlefield later, Nat?" Now Lucia's turn asking questions.

"No, Your Grace. Their current task is to protect the Saronia region from a possible attack by the Augra forces" Nata quickly replied.

"Then have you thought of a way to defeat those Lycan?" Lucia asked back.

"Yes, I think I have. But before that, I have to contact Mr. Evora and Mr. Matyas first." Nata replied after having a moment to stop to think.

"good. Do it before I catch up with Caspian tomorrow," Lucia replied without questioning Nata's more detailed intentions.

"Okay, Your Majesty." Nata answered firmly.

A day later some wooden crates containing Nata's order sent by Couran from the Central region, arrived in Varun City by Iron Train before noon. Just before all Lucia's preparations were finished.

And soon after, Lucia, Jean, and his special forces began marching out of Varun into Coedore to join Caspian's main force.

Aksa and Nata remained in Varun City to take care of the construction of a railway line to Saronia and Feymarch. Also to ensure that the delivery of food and medicine supplies to the battlefield goes smoothly.

Shortly after the departure of Lucia and her troops, Rafa from the Central region contacted Aksa with Radio Communications.

"Oh, how's Ra doing?" greet Aksa after lifting the handle of the microphone from its place.

Aksa, along with Nata, Lily, and Val, was in one of the tents in the town square, about to hold a meeting with Orland and Amithy on the redevelopment of Varun City. And also other cities in the southern region in general.

"In the meantime, Miss Yvvone wants to talk." It sounds like Rafa gave Yvvone his microphone.

"Oh, well," Aksa replied later.

"Hi, Aks. Is Miss Lily with you now?" There was a sound of Yvvone asking without further ado.

"Yes, Lily, Nata, and Val are here" Aksa replied quickly.

"What are they after?" This time Nata who asked took over the microphone from Aksa's hand.

"After this we will immediately head to the port city on the northern mainland to intercept them" Yvvone retorted his plan.

"Because of the current war in the south, they will certainly rotate further south before heading west to make the crossing to the north mainland" Yvvone continued. "And that means most likely they are still on the southern mainland today" he concluded.

"So you'll intercept them once they get to the northern mainland?" Nata asked to be sure.

"really. My plan is like that. I and the others will use the Iron Ship from Port City in this central region, to head towards Zeraza City and Saziba in the northern mainland." Yvvone again explained his plan.

"All right then. Don't forget to let us know if there's anything important" Nata replied later.

"good. Well, then, I just want to let you know that before we go after this." Yvvone is back.

"Alright, may you succeed" Nata replied, and then the communication was cut off.

"Is it possible that it has something to do with the strange Soul Stream you felt when we were in Randon City a few days ago, Lily?" Aksa asked with a curious face to Lily who was sitting not far away at the end of the tent.

The little rabbit was silent. As if thinking and remembering. "It could have something to do with the incident" he replied later.

"Hopefully they can prevent whatever those people are planning" Aksa replied in hope.

The next day in the region of Ceodore, shortly after Lucia's entourage had joined Caspian's army, it appeared that about a hundred and thirty Vistralle's soldiers had appeared to stand in the way.

Simultaneously it was also seen that the Blood Moon Fighter Union was among the troops. Who seemed to have been impatient to tear apart their opponents.

"As expected, they will conduct an army reserve in this savanna region" Caspian said from a horse next to Lucia and Jean.

"Waging a war on a field outside the city is indeed the most appropriate choice to avoid damage to the city" said Lucia who was still observing the situation before her through the lens of binoculars.

"It seems that all of Mr. Nata's estimates are correct. And that means they'll deploy those Lycan warriors to pave the way." Caspian spoke again.

"really. And that means you and your Firearms must confront them." This time Jean responded.

"Yes, I think it would be much better if something bad happened in the beginning" Caspian said, sounding a little worried. "In that case, I'm sorry to prepare the troops and combat equipment, Your Majesty," he added, asking Lucia for permission.

"Please" Lucia replied before Caspian pointed his horse towards the Firearms Force. "And Jean, make sure that our horses are safely protected when the battle takes place" he told Jean this time.

"Well, Your Majesty," Jean replied firmly before turning her horse to continue Lucia's orders to her subordinates.

Caspian seemed to take a deep breath staring into the ranks of his soldiers. "I knew they were famous as ferocious and unforgiving beasts" he said then half-calling. "But, they are no match for us right now. With the power that we have now, we will finish off the Lycan until it is left unnoticed" his sword later.

"So listen up, Rhapsodia. There's no mercy for those Lycan. Finish them all!" shouts Caspian later. Which was soon avenged with boisterous cheers from the soldiers.
