The Great War of Rhodesia

The Great War of Rhodesia
Antology Story: Two Women

A noble horse-drawn carriage entered the grounds of Joan's house while the Narva woman was hanging her laundry on a clothesline. Joan knew the emblem on the side of the horse carriage door. The Raygod Nobles.

Joan stopped her work and walked over to the horse-drawn carriage. Xiggaz came out waving a little towards Joan.

"Homework is not for you, Jo," Xiggaz later said.

Joan just smiled a little at her old friend walking over. "What do you need to do here, Xig?" ask without further ado.

"Obviously I'd like to see little Arthur, Iah," Xiggaz replied later. "Where is he now?"

"That's it, there's no need to mince words. Come on, come on in," Joan, who walks ahead of Xiggaz, enters the house.

.

"So what's necessary, Xig?" Back Joan asked without further ado as soon as the two of them were already sitting in the living room.

"Mr Tyrion needs you" Xiggaz replied after sipping the warm tea the host had served.

"Necessary for what? I'm no longer a spy and information collector now, Xig." Joan immediately clarified her position before hearing the request further.

"I knew. And Mr. Tyrion knows about that, too. He just wanted to ask for your help this time. Consider it a freelance job. He didn't ask you to come back." The Narva man spoke again.

"I can't, Xig. I have Arthur now. I can't leave him alone for long." Joan tried to subtly reject her best friend's request.

"I can help you take care of Arthur." Xiggaz still hasn't given up.

"Thank you, but I don't need it" replied Joan firmly.

"Please, Jo. Now you're the only person I know who can complete this task" Xiggaz pleaded.

Joan was silent, and she looked as if she was judging. "What is the importance of this task until you have to beg like that?" tanyanya.

"Enoughly important. It's about a rumor that needs to be confirmed."

"And what rumor could be that important to Mr. Tyrion be sure?" Joan looked curious.

"It's a rumor about the return of two young men who managed to take over the Holy Land, remember, right?" answer Xiggaz later.

"What did you say? You mean those two young men from the Rhodesia region?" joan asked to confirm Xiggaz's words.

"really. Rumors have been circulating for the past few months."

Joan was silent again. His face began to look doubtful and worried. As if thinking of an answer, the woman's gaze paled towards the wall behind Xiggaz.

"How, Jo?" asked Xiggaz who seemed to surprise Joan.

"Give me time to think. I'll let you know when I've decided" replied Joan, who seemed a little unfocused. He seems to be thinking about something else.

And although Xiggaz was aware of this, the man chose not to ask him, and appreciated the answer of his friend. "All right, I'll give you some time. But not for too long. Because if we confirm the rumors too late, the war may happen again" he said later.

"Yes, that's what I'm afraid of" replied Joan softly, nodding.

"All right then. I won't interrupt your housework for too long" Xiggaz said, rising to his feet. "It's a gift to Arthur." Who then put a wooden crate that he had brought it to the table. "I'm sorry" he said later as he walked out.

Joan led her friend to the horse carriage. And after the horse-drawn carriage drifted away, he immediately entered his house and began to prepare for the journey.

Two days later Joan was seen visiting Versica while in a bar in the town of Jarg in the northern region of Cirrus.

"Miss, Versica," said Joan as she sat down casually next to Versica's seat, as if they were close friends.

"Oh you, Miss Joan. What made you come all the way to the slums like this?" tanya Versica who looked indifferent as she glanced towards Joan.

"Yes, I was born to always behave this way toward certain people." Versica answered without turning towards Joan. Then sip the drink in his bamboo glass.

"You mustn't misunderstand me, Miss Versica. I'm not part of some of those people" Joan replied as she received a drink from the waiter.

"really?" Versica sounds cynical.

"You don't have to doubt me. I'm telling the truth now" Joan said after sipping her drink.

"Then what's the need, you're with me?" ask Versica then without further ado. "Or is this meeting just a coincidence?" he added with a contrived tone of surprise.

"No need to quip like that. I do have a need with you, Miss Versica," Joan replied without further ado.

"And what is it?"

"Clearly related to information," said Joan as she brushed her long bangs into the sampin. "I just want to make sure, about the return of two young men who managed to take over Nezarad City," he said later.

And although he tried to hide it, it is still seen that Versica was surprised by the question.

"You asked me something strange. How could I possibly know such things?" answer Versica who is trying to stay calm. "Aren't you supposed to know more about it? Because information and news is your specialty, right?"

"It is precisely because I am an expert in that field that I now ask you. I know you are in direct contact with the people of Rhodesodia" said Joan, who revealed Versica's secrets were not important.

Now the look on Versica's face began to change. He seemed ready to cut down Joan in order to protect the secret.

"No need to worry, Miss Versica. I don't care about that. Because now I no longer work for the Royal Highness" said Joan anticipating Versica's intentions.

Still in silence, Versica looked into Joan's eyes in full search. Not out of suspicion, but out of curiosity. What the woman really wants.

"I just want to confirm the truth of the news" said Joan later, who seemed to answer questions in Versica's mind. "Because of all the people who live in this southern region, you are the only one who can freely enter and enter the region" he continued.

"Who is this information you are asking for?" ask Versica later.

"For myself" replied Joan briefly.

"That's ridiculous. And why are you interested in them, if you are no longer in contact with the ruling nobles?" Versica could not believe it with a short answer from Joan.

"I just want to take my safety" Joan said after spending the rest of her drink in one gulp.

"What does your salvation have to do with the two young men?"

"You don't have to pretend to be stupid in front of me, Miss Versica. Obviously with the re-emergence of the two young men it would bring war upon this land. And I don't want to be caught in the middle of that war" Joan replied.

"So you intend to visit from this southern mainland if the news is certainly true?" Versica confirmed his conjecture.

"No. If it is true that the two young men have returned, I want you to bring me together with them" replied Joan who again surprised Versica.

"Trust me, I have good reason not to lie or betray you" Joan later tried to convince Versica. "Or do you need information instead?" This time the woman offered an exchange.

Versica looked back into the eyes of the women with great judgment.

"All right, Miss Joan. Let's talk about this elsewhere" Versica said later, apparently agreeing to Joan's offer.

"alright. But, there is no need to call me 'Miss'. Because I'm a mother now" Joan replied as she walked out of the bar.

"Oh, that's how it looks." Versica began to understand why Joan was not like that. Not because she wanted to save herself, but because she didn't want her son to be caught up in the coming war. And that is the meaning of the "strong reason not to lie and betray' that Joan had said before.

"Then, please, Lady Joan," Versica said, then let Joan walk first.

The two women left the bar.
