The Great War of Rhodesia

The Great War of Rhodesia
8. The Northern Garrison I

Although not as crowded as Central City, but the North City still looks quite busy. Starting from pedestrians to Iron Trains with various shapes and sizes visible passing through the streets.

The most visible unique thing of this Northern City is its streets that have a pattern with a unique shape. Like six squares intersecting each other. Different from the streets in other places that are just plain cement. Street light poles also look much more artistic than other places. There are additional floral patterns carved under the lamp holder.

Some people who were on the side of the road seemed to stop for a while and bowed respectfully when they saw the Iron Train owned by Lucia passing by. The same thing happened while they were on the streets of Central City before.

This made Nata understand that the inhabitants of the region recognized the Lucia Iron Train, and also respected Lucia as their leader. And that's a good thing he thinks.

But unfortunately they can not stop by or linger in the North City. Because they must immediately head northwest to the place where the Garrison complex was built. Therefore they only pass through the outer ring road of the city before then out through the west side gate.

.

Shortly afterwards, Helen and Caspian were seen standing in front of the gate of the Garrison complex to welcome. That was because their watchtower had already seen and recognized the Lucia Iron Train right after the Iron Train had exited the western gate of the North City earlier.

After passing through the gates of the compound, the nine of them continued their journey on foot accompanied by Caspian and Helen. The Iron Car of Lucia was left in a field on the right side of the gate, among several other Iron Trains.

Similar to the Atelir complex, the Garrison complex located in the northwest of North City looks like a small village that has many buildings that are a place to train certain types of skills.

They passed through a field containing children aged 6 to 12 years who were learning to use basic magic that is not to attack. Because some teachers were seen watching the children to make a small wall from the ground, burn a fireplace, freeze water, or channel lightning energy in an electric generator.

"Oh, so that's what magic training means for everyday?" asked Aksa who looked quite enthusiastic observing how the children were practicing.

"Oh, have you heard it?" sahut Caspian who looks a little proud. "It's true it's magic training for everyday. And that's one of the mandatory training we apply to the children of this region besides going to school."

"One of the mandatory training?" This time Nata asked.

"really. So now we are also training the citizens to at least understand how to use weapons and magic in self-defense" Caspian replied later. "The training was not included in Combat Training or Magic Training. But training is mandatory for citizens, at least for men ranging from ten to sixty."

"Oh, I understand. So it's kind of conscription to anticipate a surprise attack because of a lack of guard troops?" Nata made sure as they passed through the other field that contained some youths were practicing physically.

"really. And if they feel comfortable and want to continue practicing, then they can take Combat Training or Magic Training to really master it." Caspian replied as Vossler's figure along with several people and Yllgarian was seen approaching.

Those who approached with Vossler were the knights and magicians who had been in this place since before the kingdom of Rhodesodia was formed, so they knew who Aksa and Nata were.

Therefore, there was a high enthusiasm from the knights and witches when welcoming the arrival of Aksa and Nata. Because that means their chances of winning in the war are huge.

"It's nice to see you both again, Mr. Aksa, Mr. Nata," Vossler said after he and his entourage saluted Lucia. Now the man is seen to have a transverse scar on the nasal shaft under his eyes.

"Welcome, Mr. Aksa, Mr. Nata." The knights and magicians greeted each other.

"It's good to see you again" Nata replied later.

"Well, you look more sad with wounds on the face like that, Mr. Vossler," said Aksa who looks a little amazed to see Vossler's face.

"Why are you even happy to see someone else get hurt, Aks?" said Nata who felt Aksa had been disrespectful.

"You both haven't changed at all. Not even growing old." Vossler seemed to be shaking his head slowly.

"There's an explanation" Nata said quickly.

"Then where is the Magic Weapon Training? I want to see it," cut Aksa while looking wryly looking in all directions.

"Oh, you want to take a look at the Magic Weapon training? Let me deliver," said Caspian who then romhongan that grew bigger it began to walk again.

The group clearly attracted a lot of attention along their journey towards the Magic Weapon Training Garrison. Everyone who did not know about Aksa and Nata seemed to be wondering who exactly the two youths were walking among the important people of the kingdom.

Finally they entered a sizable Garrison building that was used to practice Magic Weapons. It appears that some soldiers are doing battle training, while others are seen warming up before training.

And the arrival of the great retinue of Aksa and Nata immediately attracted the attention of those who were practicing. It is seen that they stopped their training and saluted when they found Lucia among the group.

"Here you go back to training" Lucia commanded the soldiers in the garrison.

"This training is classified as advanced level training after Combat Training and Magic Training." Caspian tried to explain after the soldiers had returned to training.

"What does that advanced training mean, Mr Caspian?" Aksa seemed to be getting excited.

"That's because the training of this Magic Weapon is a combination of weapon use and magic." And Caspian began to explain at length after his words.

"In short, Combat Training teaches about bare-handed martial arts or the use of weapons such as swords, spears, arrows, and rifles both wind-powered and those using gunpowder.

"Then Magic Training clearly teaches mastery of the use of magic. Good for combat or other uses.

"And for those who are already quite proficient with both of these trainings, they can start training their Magic Weapons like Prince Alexander and Prince Eden today" Caspian concluded later.

"So what does it mean that the training teaches the user to combine his weapon with magic? Or some kind of enhancement magic that Rafa once showed?" asked Aksa with sparkling eyes.

"Yes more or less the concept is the same as I have done before. Using magic to increase the ability of weapons or protectors" Rafa replied.

"But actually this method of using magic has long been used. Like for example Miss Jean, who cast a strengthening magic that is basically protective magic onto her sword in order to be able to slash a suit of armor. Or Miss Helen who used her unique magic to lighten her armor and sword in order to move quickly," Rafa continued.

"Oh, I get it. So if I can do fire magic, I can make my sword into a fire sword, right?" Aksa gave the conclusion and an example of the explanation he received.

"So like his weak version of Mystical Weapon, dong?" Nata.

"More or less, anyway. Because not all types of magic can be applied that way. The sword will quickly disintegrate and break when we bring about destructive magic like Fire, Ice, or Lightning. Me, Miss Parpera, and the others have tried." Rafa replied with an explanation.

"Wow, you really did some research on this, huh?" aksa said, looking satisfied to hear the answer from Rafa.
