The Great War of Rhodesia

The Great War of Rhodesia
Antology Story: Action Reaction

In a castle in the kingdom of Augra. 5 People were holding an emergency meeting.

"I still don't think. Just overnight, 100 more troops remaining 50 people? In one night? It's amazing, Gez," said a Narva man with a neat haircut pulled back.

"I'm sorry, Jarl. But the situation was very chaotic at that time. Not to mention the strange magic cast by the man who claimed to be the Knight of Light." The other Narva man called Gez replied.

The Narva man called Jarl breathed a long breath. "And are you sure it's a Rhodesodian army? Not Vistralle's wits?" tanyanya.

"I'm less sure too. But the man who claimed to be the Knight of Light earlier said so. After all according to the miners, the soldiers who attacked the fort yesterday the day after, all used weapons similar to the Firearms of Rhodesodia. It's just that it doesn't make an explosive sound" Gez replied.

The man with the status of Jarl was seen starting to massage his temple slowly after hearing the explanation. "All right, let's just say it's true. How did the Rhapsodian army get inside the fort walls? Did they use Arcane stones?"

"That's impossible, Jarl. The Magic Formation tool was still on, even when we attacked the fortress last night. It should be that with the Soul Stream vandals that the Moving Crystals would not be able to be used inside the fortress." This time Seithr's man in the clothes of a witch answered.

"Then is this the work of their Yllgarian army? All I hear is they have troops from the Strigi Clan. Did they cross the wall through the air?"

"It is likely that they entered the fort from above. But not with Yllgarian's help." Gez took over from his boss. "Guardians in the tower of the fortress would instantly realize their presence from a distance. Because Yllgarian cannot fly fast or fly higher than the clouds" he added.

"So what do you mean?"

"As has been reported by witnesses who have seen it in person. They have a legendary mundane bird, Jarl."

"Are you guys crazy? How could a bird that we have only heard of from ancient tales and records suddenly be in that place?"

"Magic light descended from the clouds and destroyed our camp, Jarl. I'm not lying about that. All the soldiers who survived saw it too." Looks like Gez is trying to convince his boss.

"But it still doesn't make sense."

"That's the most reasonable reason we have right now, Jarl."

Jarl who looks just entering the age of 40 years was seen again exhaling. "What do you think, Merl?" the question then went to an old Narva man in the clothes of a Royal Witch who was sitting right next to him. "With the knowledge and wisdom you have, do you think the bird is real?"

"The Delaying figure according to the ancient scroll is, having skin-lined wings like bat wings, with a size much wider than the wings of mystic birds in general. It was even wider than the wings of Hurravenon. His voice sounded like dozens of bird squeals in general, and it always came along with the storm." The man called Merl explained what he knew about the legendary bird. "And according to what I heard from the eyewitnesses, although vague, but almost everyone described the same thing, Jarl," he added later.

"Right, lightning and thunder also appeared along with the appearance of the legendary bird." Gez added.

"Is it not possible that the thundercloud just happened to appear by chance?" The Jarl man seemed unwilling to believe Gez's story.

"That lightning cloud is not something as natural as we've seen before. The cloud was running and spinning rapidly after us." This time the talking wizard Seithr tried to convince Jarl.

"really?"

"You can make sure to the other witness, Jarl. And although I did not see clearly the shape of the bird, I can still remember the sound of the screech. Like the sound of screams from dozens of bats mixed with a terrifying howl. I still have my goosebumps when I remember."

"Then this is how I should report this matter to the King," complained the Jarl with a long breath for the umpteenth time. "Nado, try to find out if this has anything to do with Vistralle," he ordered a Narva who had been sitting at the end of the room.

"Good, Jarl. I'll do it soon." The man called Nado replied firmly.

"It would have been much easier if all this had been Vistralle conspiring with the Rhapsodians" grumbled Jarl.

"That means we also have to start to be vigilant if it is true that Rhapsodia has moved," said the long-haired Narva man who sat next to Jarl later. "Because most likely the target was all the former territories of the Urbar kingdom that they had acknowledged when establishing the kingdom."

"really. Which means it's likely that Ravus and Lighthill are also their targets" Gez said.

"I'm getting dizzy. Then you come with me, Gez. We go to Kotaraja to explain all this to His Majesty" the Jarl ordered before closing the meeting.

"This tool is really amazing, Ver. Yesterday a map with very accurate details. And now this. Where did they get all that stuff?" Morra's man with a flaky haircut known as Karka was visibly amazed after trying to use Radio Communications.

"Are all the equipment made by the two strange young men?" ask the burly Narva man known as Guanna.

"true." Versica.

"Who are those two people?" Karka wonders.

"Eitherway? I don't know either. Miss Joan alone could find nothing about the past of the two young men" Versica replied.

"really?"

"Of course, we don't have much time right now. So let's just get on with it, what's the plan, Ver?" cut off Guanna who doesn't want to waste time.

"The attack will be carried out tonight." Versica is no longer talking. "We don't need to take part in the attack. We just need to report the situation that happened in those places before the attack began" he explained later.

"So they will attack important places that do not have strict guard?" ask Guanna to make sure.

"More or less like that."

"I think our colleagues are ready for it" Karka said. "Where are we going to attack?" tanyanya.

"Caspian gave the decision to choose those places to us. They will attack based on the information we provide" Versica replied.

"really? Doesn't that mean they're borrowing their army on us? Are you sure?" Karka tried to confirm Versica's remark.

"Yes, that is what the young man called the Counselor wanted. He really wants us to participate in the war to reclaim our land."

"really?"

"That young man is smart enough to use us to increase our chances of winning this war." This time Guanna spoke her thoughts.

"really. But it's not a problem for me. Because it doesn't hurt us at all" Versica said.

"Yes, you're right. Then what will they do in this war, if all is handed over to us?" Karka asked back.

"The Rhapsodians themselves will begin their assault tomorrow morning on the territory of Ignus first. To take over Varun City." Versica.

"Oh, now I understand what they're planning. They want to break the power of Vistralle." Karka looked as if she had just understood something important. "But what if Tyrion intervenes in this war? Or Augra?" asked Morra's man then looked a little worried.

"really. Didn't the mines in the Trava Mountains have been captured by the Rhodesian army?" Guanna asked. "It would be terrible if Augra really participated in this war."

"I'm sure the Rhapsodia side must have taken that into account. The Counselor must have calculated that." Versica. "Now all we need to think about is the attack tonight. Because this is our chance," he said later.

"Yes you're right, I think it's time we started moving." Karka.

"And if this attack succeeds, then the rebel network in Tyrion's territory will begin to realize that we still have hope" Versica said giving encouragement and hope to his other colleagues.

"Finally our wait is over as well. After all this time we struggle," said Karka with a relieved face.

"true." Versica agreed.
