12. Ancient Tombs

Today Aksa, Rafa, Luque, and Lily make a visit to the slopes of Sekai mountain with a group from the East Coast Village to monitor land clearing and the construction of facilities for the Hot Springs later.

Aksa was introduced to the Yllgarians of the frog-like Bufo clan by Fang in a residential complex built not far from a hot spring for temporary shelter of the workers.

"Include Lord Aksa, this is Gai the leader of the Bufo clan who lives around this place," said Fang introduced a frogman with clothes only wrapped in a robe that was almost as tall as Lily.

"It is nice to finally meet you, Mr. Aksa, Mr. Miss Lilian," said the frog-man in a heavy voice as he extended his tiny hand towards Aksa.

"It's nice to meet you too Mr. Gai" said Aksa who immediately shook Gai's hand enthusiastically.

"Does your clan have the magic to summon a giant frog? Or magic to turn into a lot?" he continued later with a series of questions that confused the frog man.

"What do you mean, sir? We Bufo clan are only proficient in water and earth magic," replied Gai slightly hesitating, just in case that is not what Aksa meant.

"Don't think too much, Gai. Aksa is like that. You will often hear strange words and questions from him. Get used to it," said Lily then who was approved by everyone who had known Aksa for a long time.

"Haha... Thas right. But I'm sure you'll soon get used to it, Mr. Gai," Fang added with a laugh at Lily's words.

"Why do I feel like you're conspiring to make fun of me?" Aksa felt a little annoyed everyone agreed with Lily's remark.

"Followly, we better continue our goal here," said Rafa to shift the subject.

Soon, they began to tour the area.

"Looking at all the facilities that have been completed, along with the hot springs, I think it's time for us to build the main building," aksa said after they arrived at the main area where the hot springs are located.

"I understand Mr. Aksa. We'll start preparing for the construction." Fang replied.

"Is that part of it also finished?" ask Aksa again when he found a footpath that was built in style on the right side of the area.

"Then try to take me to the inscription," said Aksa who began to be interested in it.

And after 15 minutes of walking up through a fairly steep path, they arrived at a fairly large sloping plain with bushes filling it.

But what seized the attention of the region was a stone monument towering very high in the middle, which was almost the size of an adult man's body.

If it is not on a mountain slope filled with trees, the stone monument will certainly be seen from a distance.

"Oh, right it turns out," said Aksa amazed while looking up at the end of the monument.

"Either why do I feel the remnants of the Soul Stream in this place. Is this stone monument wrapped in some kind of protective magic?" lily said as she walked closer to the monument.

"really. We found this inscription as well because we felt the remnants of the Soul Stream" said Gai who walked first in front of Lily.

"Is this some kind of mystical site? Or even a magic tool?" ask Aksa who looks curious.

"I don't think so, Mr. Aksa." Rafa answers. "Usually a monument that has important information is always coated by protective magic in order to last for decades."

"And looking at her Soul Stream, it is likely that this inscription has stood for hundreds of years and the magic has never been renewed" Lily continued.

"Do magic really need to be renewed? The magic installed in my laboratory inside that cave can last for hundreds of years, right?" ask Aksa who looks a little confused.

"That's different. This one is not an Elf-made seal magic like the one installed in Mahan Staan. It's ordinary protective magic." Lily gave an answer.

"Indeed, ordinary protective magic can last for hundreds of years?" Aksa asked again.

"It's possible that the person who created it has enormous power" Rafa replied later.

"Yes, right. It might be a Sage." Rafa seemed to agree with Lily.

"And where do you mean by the ancient inscription, Mr. Fang?" ask Aksa who looks more excited.

"Oh, the inscription is on the back of the master," Fang replied as he guided Aksa's entourage to turn behind the stone monument.

"Oh, this is ancient Hiryu," Aksa said, recognizing the inscription engraved on a flat plane at the bottom of the stone monument.

"Oh, right," said Luque who also recognized the letters.

"Being at the base of this pillar that supports the sky, a Princess, the Sovereign, and the great Hero of the Hagia tribe." Aksa read the ancient writings.

"Oh, so this is a tomb?" Lily spouting.

"Hagia Tribe? Isn't that your tribe, Luq?" ask Aksa later.

"really. But I've never heard of this before" replied Luque who looked quite confused to find the writing.

"Even the tales of the ancestors there is no mention of a great hero of the Hagia tribe. Moreover, there were no female leaders throughout the history of the Hagia tribe that I knew." Luque looked confused.

"Is this writing intentionally written using a metaphor that is not true?" Aksa tried to analyze.

"Even so, if there was a tower built in this place long before I was born, I should definitely know about it, right?" Luque.

"yes too. This area used to be your tribal territory, right?" Aksa asked to make sure.

"It used to be a Hagia tribe residence before we moved south. But from the time I was born until we moved south, there was never a tower or monument built by the Hagia tribe" Luque replied with an explanation. "What else sees this tall tower still survive the destruction that occurred in this land. So I guess it's impossible that Hagia built it."

"What do you mean this monument was built after the destruction?" Aksa asked back.

"I think so. But by being ready, and for what purpose, I don't know," Luque replied expressing his thoughts. "More who's the great hero buried down here?"

"We will investigate further after this" Aksa said later.

"And for a while let this place be Mr. Fang. Just make a better way to get here and the fence so that this monument or tomb is safe," he continued to give orders.

"Okay sir, I understand." Fang answered quickly.

"Then let's move on to another place," Aksa asked later.

In the afternoon on the Iron Train on the way home to the Star Alley, Luque looked daydreaming at the street outside the window.

"What's the matter, Luq?" asked Aksa who was sitting next to him in the steering chair.

"That tomb got me thinking," Luque replied later.

"Do you think that the tomb is the remains of the Hagia tribe that still survives after the destruction?" ask Aksa shoot.

"Eitherway? But I felt a Soul Stream that I recognized," Luque replied later.

"Oh, I also feel familiar with the Soul Stream that was in that place earlier." Lily pulled up from the back seat next to Rafa.

"What do you mean the witch who casts the magic is someone you both know?" Aksa asked again to be sure.

"Possibly so." Lily answered. "But I can't remember it."

"The great magician is not an Elf who probably lived a hundred years ago" Luque added.
