The Great War of Rhodesia
30. Modern Equipment

Three weeks later Aksa and Nata again held a meeting with Lucia and the military officials. This time in connection with some weapons and equipment for the soldiers that had been completed by Val and the craftsmen.

They regrouped at Atelir Testimony. But the difference, this time they did not gather in the room, but on the field behind the building.

Attended by mostly the same people. Only this time the leaders of the region were absent. Replaced by several people from the defense and combat unions.

It had been lined up on the only table in the middle of the field, some items that were partially recognizable to the people present, and some of them looked very foreign to them.

"These tools were completed in less than two months of work. Impressive." Aksa opened the conversation by praising the craftsmen. "It was only within a month and a half, to make parts of all this equipment," he continued, nodding in amazement at Val and the craftsmen in turn.

"Is this some kind of circus, Mr Aksa? Aren't we quick enough to finish?" matyas asked who looked doubtful with Aksa's praise.

"You know, Mr. Matyas. If I were sarcastic, my left eyebrow would go up" Aksa replied later. "Now, do you see my left eyebrow rising? No, right?"

"Aksa's right, it's really an awesome job. Even in our world, some of this equipment takes a long time to make manually." Nata seems to agree with Aksa's opinion.

"If it is so, it means we should give appreciation to the craftsmen for their hard work." Lucia interrupted as she began clapping for the craftsmen present. And then followed by everyone.

"Well, the girl is indeed very good for moral uplift and manasin gini-rich atmosphere," whispered Aksa near Nata's ear. "I think it's his unique skill" he added.

.

"So whatever these things are. Nat?" asked Lucia a few moments later. Representing other curiosity.

"Alright then, we'll start from this one," Nata said approaching the table and taking objects such as two binoculars that are common are merged into one. "As you all know. Basically this is binoculars. It's just that we make it two-lined, clear to both eyes, in order to get a much wider and clearer view." Nata handed the binoculars to Lucia.

Lucia approached and received the binoculars.

"Try me there, Queen." Aksa pointed towards the cliff of the abyss far ahead of them. "You can make adjustments by turning the front like this." Aksa again gave orders to Lucia.

"Like this?" lucia said twirling the end circle of the binoculars, while paying attention to how the body of the tool moves back and forth while making a sound like a round serrated wheel.

"If you are confused by the name of these binoculars with one glass, you can call this one; 'Chairman'," said Aksa suggesting something unimportant.

"Oh?!" lucia exclaimed suddenly, as she had put the binoculars in front of her eyes. Which made the people in that place even more curious.

After that Lucia hastily pulled her gaze from the binoculars and eye-opening ascertained what was in front of her with the naked eye. Then again raised the binoculars before his eyes.

"The view produced by this object is much clearer than the binoculars that we usually use" said Lucia later. "Just the shape is too wide and less easy to store, when compared with common binoculars that are easily folded and stored in a pocket," he said then gave his opinion.

"Yes, Your Majesty is right. For now this tool is needed for its usefulness, open its practicality." Nata answered.

"This binoculars are still possible to be reduced again, but need parts that will be difficult to make for now" said Aksa added.

Everyone looked excited and filled with curiosity. Except the craftsmen. Because they already knew and tried all of that equipment before.

.

"Then this one, as you all know, is the Clock. Time indicator. We just make it very small to be easy to carry around" explained Nata then took a circular object with a slightly convex glass on one side.

"Thank you to the East Star craftsmen, who have managed to shrink the serrated wheels. Until now I can have a new watch with silver crackers inlaid with jewels like this," said Aksa while showing the clock that had been covered with sleeves, coiled on his right wrist.

People looked amazed and a little envious looking at the Aksa clock.

"Torak, Aks." Nata has another opinion.

"Syrics. This is the official Rhapsodia watch, really," Aksa replied indifferently.

"It's all because of the help of a magnifying glass taken from the concept of binoculars, which you have suggested to us." Matyas responds to Aksa's praise.

"You are humble to be called a good man, or to be praised twice, Mr Matyas?" aksa squinted his eyes at Matyas. "I even with a magnifying glass still will not be able to make a serrated wheel for this watch" he added later. Which was reciprocated with a small laugh from some fellow craftsmen.

"Alright then, I will continue," said Nata again while taking an object similar to the clock, but does not have a convex glass on one side. "This is a compass. Simply put, this is a magnetic stone. And the function is to show the direction," he explained while twirling the tool to show others that the needle in it will always lead to the North and South.

"Oh, that's very useful" one person commented.

"really. This tool can be a substitute for a star map when doing a cruise."

"Oh, that's right."

"Then this one is a versatile Folding Knife." Nata continued to pick up an oval object as big as a grip with like a layer of metal that was deliberately stacked and crammed in the middle.

"Folding knife? Versatile?"

"Because in it there is a wide range of useful tools to survive in unexpected places and conditions," added Nata while tipping out one by one pile of metal plates in the middle of it.

"Well, that's a really good idea" Caspian said when he saw a small spoon, small scissors, a rod with a screw pattern on the end, and some form of equipment that he often saw but in small size is in the folding knife. Beside the knife itself.

"I think fighters and hunters who often travel to make a Request for Services, must have it," said Cedrik without long thinking. The man looked like he had just found a treasure. His eyes look blazing.

"Yes, right. That would be a great help," said one of the other Fire Star members.

"We will try to hold this tool for hunters and combat unions after we finish the part for the soldiers" Lucia said later.

"I understand Her Majesty the Queen," said Cedrik as he bowed slightly.

"Ok, okay. And this is the last one. We call it the Flashlight" Nata said, taking a cylindrical metal object the size of his wrist. It was about two fists long, and at the end it looked like a small funnel with convex glass and an incandescent bulb about the size of a thumb attached to it.

"Or you can call it a Portable Lamp" Aksa said.

"Yes, because it's basically a lamp. But made as small as possible in order to be carried." Nata explained. "This tool runs on a single-use battery that is able to make the lights turn on for two full hours before running out of power" he said again while shifting the prominent part that is on one side of the Flashlight. And then the light ball lit up.

"Yes, the essence of the equipment this time is to shrink the size of the objects that already exist, and make it look cooler," said Aksa while lifting his eyebrows with a silly face.

"What about the battery? You said it was disposable?" lucia asked as she was watching the Flashlight in her hand carefully.

"really. And because the manufacture of Zeng and Carbon-based batteries is quite difficult for those who do not understand properly with electricity and chemical reactions, the, so a few weeks ago we and the craftsmen had a discussion about this," Nata explained. "And we have the decision that for now a small group will be formed led by Mr. Couran, who will be in charge of producing the batteries. At least to meet the needs of the soldiers' flashlight."

"So this tool also can not be used for the public. All right, I see," Lucia replied as she placed the flashlight she was holding on the table. "Because this supporting equipment has been all introduced, now we continue to weaponry" he said later.
