Brian was silent, he looked at the clock on his wrist. The man looked worried as if he was waiting for someone.
"What's wrong?" ask Valerie again.
"The delivery courier will be here soon" replied Brian. He smiled as he wrapped his arms around Valerie's waist. While the woman did not understand, what kind of delivery courier?
Not yet had Valerie to question her curiosity, seen someone walking quickly with breath gasping toward them.
He is Max, the person referred to as a delivery courier by Brian.
"Max, what's wrong with you?" ask Valerie. The man who had just arrived was immediately looking for a chair to sit down and sipped a glass of wine before answering Valerie's question. Max looked so rushed that he had trouble breathing.
"Huh, here!" Max took out a small box from his pocket. He handed the box to Brian. While he was still breathing hard.
"Thank you, Max. You're the only one I can count on" Brian said.
Brian smiled happily, he opened the small box he had just received from Max and showed it to Valerie.
"Ring?" Valerie glares. "So, Max came to deliver this ring?" tanyakanya. He saw a pair of white engagement rings. One plain ring and one ring with clear diamond eyes that appear rainbow-colored when exposed to light.
"Hmm, what do you think I'm running to the jewelry store for and almost out of breath to get to this place so quickly?" sela Max's. "I hope I didn't choose the wrong size" he continued.
Brian felt guilty, he immediately hugged Max and patted his best friend's back gently.
"Thank you for everything you've done for me, Max. You're the only person I can always count on" Brian said. Even in the most precarious and sudden moments, Max never let him down.
Valerie was moved to see two men hugging in front of her. Anyone would have thought that Brian and Max had a special relationship, because their closeness and affection for each other was very clear and more than just superiors and secretaries.
Not long after, Theo called Brian and Valerie. He asked the couple to go on stage together. In his place, Max was like a man who had just come from the north pole and was thrown into the south pole without explanation. He was confused, and did not understand what was in front of him at this moment. Brian comes to attend Elena's family invitation but is instead engaged to Valerie? Really hard to digest.
"Tonight, officially, I gave my granddaughter Valerie Cameron's blessing to her boyfriend Brian Carlos" Theo said in a microphone.
Rousing applause was mutual, while Max was still confused.
On stage, watched by all the invited guests as well as the media crew and reporters, Valerie and Brian exchanged rings. Brian kissed the backs of Valerie's hands and hugged her. Now, one first step has been reached, and a new love story is about to begin.
