Again Valerie was silent and glued. Brian's goal is not just to have a relationship with him, but directly at the core, which is a marriage.
But for Valerie, getting married is not an easy thing. He still has a lot to finish. Moreover, he must take care of his past and regain what his parents' killers have seized.
"Do you doubt me? Is there anything that makes you doubt my love?" ask Brian.
"Nothing" replied Valerie softly.
Seeing so much of Brian's sacrifice that he was willing to defy matchmaking and the wishes of his parents, Valerie was sure the man was not playing games.
Valerie was worried, confused, and did not know what to do.
"Go home and rest. You can take a few days off. Think carefully" Brian said.
Valerie nodded, she got out of the car and took her motorcycle.
A feeling of unease enveloped the woman's heart. The only best place to contemplate was a place where both of his parents lay down forever.
Valerie drives her bike at a moderate speed. He headed for a luxurious burial place inhabited by his parents.
Valerie carried two bouquets of red roses, it was her mother's favorite flower. He sat beside the tomb and placed the flower on the side of the tombstone.
"Ma, the last few days I've been very busy. I'm sorry if I didn't come to see you" Valerie said.
"I miss you guys." A single tear slid down his cheek.
"Ma, Mum. I can't understand my own feelings. I was happy when he turned down another woman, I was sad when he was in trouble. But, I don't know what to do," Valerie lamented.
The woman had trouble deciphering her heart. Can happiness be interpreted as a word of love? Or just pride?
Is Valerie just happy because she's proud of herself, that she can tear Brian down and bring him to his knees in front of her.
Can sadness be defined as love? Or just care?
"My heart was pounding when I saw him smiling at me. Am I in love?"
Valerie closed her eyes. The woman took a deep breath. There was a strange thump in his chest. Every time he spent with Brian, he always made him feel comfortable.
But again, Valerie tried hard to resist about how she felt.
...****************...
Being at the navel of both her parents for a few minutes, made Valerie feel at ease. He decided to go home before it was getting late.
Arriving at the boarding house, Valerie saw a stack of documents on her doorstep. It was a document sent by Theo just like Valerie's request.
He requested all copies of confidential documents about his father's company. Valerie had a lot to know before taking over the company from the thief.
Brian's time off will keep Valerie busy with many things, including plans for retaliation for what her uncle has done in the past.
While busy studying the sheets of paper in her hands, Valerie's cell phone ringer makes the woman stop her activities. He saw Noah's name on the phone screen.
"Yes, Noah" Valerie replied.
"You busy?" asked Noah by phone.
"No, what's up?"
"I'm in front of your boarding house. Can we have dinner together?" noah Pinta.
Valerie hesitates, but as she exits the room and opens the curtains in the living room, she sees Noah's car parked near her yard.
If he refused, Noah would be disappointed again. The man had already arrived, Valerie felt disinclined if making his arrival in vain.
