Can't Escape

 

Askelan and Harrad, two well-dressed men, stepped in and sat on one of the chairs by the window, observing the surroundings of the restaurant. They went back to talking after ordering a cup of coffee, to a fat man sitting behind the counter. When they arrived earlier, the man was angry at someone.

 Jordan, the assistant, ordered the same drink as Askelan. They come to the place only to make sure that the news of a girl's return from prison, and escape from her family ends there.

“You're sure this place is the one my mom's assistant showed you?” Ask Jordan Ask Ask.

“Yes,” Jordan politely replied, he sat down before Askelan while looking at the phone screen and showing a picture of a woman to his boss.

Askelan glanced at him at a glance and still looked calm despite being bored, let alone they came to an unattractive place. The building used as a restaurant was made of high quality old wood but, it was not well maintained.

“Please, Mr.” The soft voice of a woman serving coffee, made Askelan divert her attention from the scenery outside the window.

Askelan turned her head in amazement at the beautiful, exotic-skinned woman who smiled gently at him while keeping a coffee cup on the table.

Finished serving coffee, Lintani immediately moved again to return to his original place, when Askelan held his hand.

“Wait!” said. His interaction was clearly seen by Jordan with narrowed eyes.

“Sorry, do you still need anything else, a snack, for example?” asked Lintani after letting go of the brazen customer's hand check.

“I order you!” askelan said again, and a second later, plaque! A slap of light hit his cheek.

Jordan was wide-eyed at the unexpected movements Lintani had slapped her master. Instantly he blocked and his body became the distance between Askelan and Lintani.

“Sarah! What are you doing fucking women!” said the fat man, he was the son of Yesa who inherited his mother's restaurant.

“I'm sorry, Mr. Ford. He's been insolent to me.” Lintani said to the fat man in self-defense.

Askelan removed Jordan's body from before her and came back face to face with Lintani while grinning.

“You said this woman's name, Sarah?” ask Ford, the fat son of Yesa. The man nodded because he knew her name was Sarah.

“I Sarah! What do you want?”

“You think I want what after you slapped me earlier! You must come with me!”

“Wouldn't, just go it alone because I'm not a cheap woman!”

Askelan and Jordan furrowed their eyebrows, according to information given by their mother, the girl was named Lintani Syahrain and not Sarah. Moreover, her attitude was gentle and friendly, but what was seen at this moment was a rude, self-destructive woman.

“Hai, Miss Lin. Are you trying to fool us?” jordan said, making Lintani confused because there are people who are not known to him call his name. He really did not remember who those two powerful-looking men were.

Hearing Jordan's words, Ford was angry and he just drove Lintani away. Instantly the girl knelt before Ford and cried.

“Master Ford, please give me my salary, I've been working with Aunt Yesa for almost a month,” she said as she sobbed.

“Master Ford, tomorrow I'll get my salary. Can you give me my pay today, sir? Please!”

Ford said as he passed and gestured for the two gallant men to take Lintani away.

“Master Ford, I have nothing left, can you just give me some mercy?” Lintani was completely out of her mind, her rent was overpaid and she had no money to eat or buy any other necessities. How can he live now.

“Come! Follow me!” askelan said and roughly she dragged Lintani out of the restaurant without carrying her belongings she left in the employee locker.

“You guys, stop!” Lintani said as she brushed off the burly hand holding on her wrist. “For what you guys brought me!”

“To buy you!” the word Askelan again makes Jordan upset, because this is not how to persuade stubborn women.

“Master, you don't have to force it. We can persuade him slowly.”

“It's over my patience, Jode! He slapped me!” Askelan shouted without letting go of her hand grip even though, the rejection from the girl was so strong.

“Yes, I know. Comeing! Miss, if you want to cooperate then, we can give you compensation!”

Lintani thought where she had heard this kind of voice and style. However, his memory is too tired to know someone, his brain is like a dull thought of things that are not important except money and how to survive.

For the sake of hearing the word compensation, instantly his eyes widened and his lips opened to say, “Really? What kind of compensation?”

“Married me!”

When Askelan said that they were already in the car, Jordan immediately opened the car door and Askelan pushed Lintani roughly to get into it.

‘Ah, am I really supposed to marry a rude man like him? Nah! If I marry her, then what about my promise to Elly's mother?’ inner Lintani. He seemed to wake up and rebel again by beating the arm of Askelan sitting next to him. The car continues to move towards the city center.

Living in the city center would cost a lot of money, if he escaped from the clutches of the two men could only be a vagrant or a beggar, while all his belongings were left in the restaurant.

‘Aunt Yesa, I'm sorry, can't say goodbye and say thank you' Inner Lintani while crying, she's tired of hitting and yelling for herself to be released from Askelan.

“Really I don't know you guys, how could I possibly marry one of you, crazy son of a bitch!”

Lintani was silent for a moment then shouted back after taking a deep breath.

“I'm a pregnant woman! Are you still going to marry me?” Lintani said to protect herself from being married because she had promised to marry Ellyat's son. She was also worried that if she got pregnant because of her actions a month ago, of course Ellyat would be very disappointed. No, he did not want the woman who was already considered as his mother to be sad.

Askelan did not reply, he was like a log cut down but not broken, like a rattan bent but not curved! He was like a stone that did not move, as if Lintani's punch was a caress. She did not care whether the girl was pregnant or not because all she needed was her mother's calmness.

“Where are we going, sir. Direct to city hall or to Vila Harrad?” jordan said while at the Red Light.

“Ke city hall.” Askelan answered briefly, she intended to directly register her marriage with Lintani, then, visit her mother, while showing her marriage certificate.

“Like Madam waited too long, so it is better to invite Miss Lin to meet your Mother first.” Jordan said politely and meekly.

For a moment Lintani stopped her crying, she listened to the words of Jordan who called a mother as the reason for both of them. However, he had come back to regret his fate, he should be able to accept his salary tomorrow, but these two men had obliterated the chance to get his money! He was still confused as to how he would live after this and had absolutely no thought of getting married!
