Mother's Choice Woman
Chapter 61. The Unvalued Woman 1

The Unvalued Woman

“Hai! Lin, are you here? Uh! How happy I am that you are not my Askelan wife anymore! Did he kick you out, even from the hospital?” haifa asked as she walked around and looked at Lintani's appearance from head to toe. He sneered with a look of disdain.

‘How can he know?’ thought Lintani.

“Ah, I didn't see you at her mother's funeral yesterday, you're a disrespectful wife!”

Lintani remained silent.

“You should have been there and comforted your husband, luckily there I am his lover! So, I hugged and calmed her down during the process of the coffin being buried! But, I think it's only natural that you're not there, because he doesn't love you!”

“You've tricked him, Haifa! Do you realize that? You use me as your alibi pregnant, when I don't know whose child is in your stomach!”

Haifa felt claustrophobic and angry at the words of her foster brother and wanted to hit him.

Hap! Lintani held Haifa's hand as the girl was about to slap her face.

“Remember! You've already received money from me and promised not to bother me! So, don't even try to slap me!”

“You?” haifa said as she brushed off Lintani's hand, then laughed, after which she said again, “Are you going to your village? Yep! Just get the fuck out of here! You should have died with your other family!” haifa said as she passed after wagging her coarse hair.

Lintani wanted to ask something about what Haifa had just said, but, at the same time, the bus heading for Rasevan came.

By late afternoon and his working hours were running out, the apartment building guard saw neither Askelan nor his assistant crossing the security post, where the man worked. For a moment he was confused because he was going home soon. Then, he took the initiative to come to the Askelan house located on the top floor of the building. It was very easy to find him because all the houses on that floor were his.

He knocked on the door repeatedly, and patiently waited until it finally opened. He did not understand what was the reason for this powerful man before him, not getting out of the house all day.

“Master, sorry to interrupt, there is a deposit for you!” the guard politely said. “I guess you're not home, so, I let him put that thing in the guard post.”

“This is from whom?” ask who is agitated.

“Sorry, Sir. I didn't ask her her name, but she's a woman!”

Askelan then says some of Lintani's features in detail and the guard nods, quickly confirming that, the woman is what Askelan described to her.

“Now where is he?” askelan said as she ran towards the elevator and immediately got off, leaving the building's dumbstruck security guard men behind. He was just about to say if it had been left by Lintani since morning.

While at the bottom and walking back and forth to the surrounding streets, Askelan only got a place that began to dark and quiet.

“Sorry, Sir. Actually the girl has been gone since morning!”

Askelan ignores the man when he meets back at the entrance, upset at himself, coupled with Lintani's unreachable cell phone. He returned to his house while clucking and rubbing his coarse hair.

When Askelan was at home, she received a call from one of her uncles that Jordan had once informed her about, having a photo of Lintani and her mother. He's the second chairman.

“Are you still with your wife?” ask the Chairman when Askelan has received his call.

“No!” answer Askelan honestly.

“Stupid basis!”

“I won't be afraid to slap you if you say I'm stupid again, after Harrad Tower has already benefited sevenfold in my hands!”

“Yes, I believe in that, but, don't get the girl wrong, I'll marry her to Alex if you really throw her away!”

Alex is the second child of the Chairman, his first daughter and Alex is younger than Lintani by several years. Askelan could not accept it, as the family would definitely treat his wife badly.

Now everything seemed clearer with what Elliyat told him repeatedly about Lintani.

“Askel Darling, she is the best woman for you, trust me. You guys are a compatible couple!” So Elliyat said every night before they went to bed, after the woman was released from prison.

“She is beautiful, and cares deeply for me, she is the one who always bears all my duties in the holding room! So, if she's free later, marry her, you'll be happy!” that sentence was also now always ringing in the ears, as if Elliyat had just whispered beside him.

His mother kept repeating the same words, every chance to make Askelan bored, even hate Lintani even though, had not seen him at all.

Elliyat also said that the crime that has been accused of Lintani, until he was imprisoned to account for the actions that he never did. At that time Askelan thought that the law of the country would not be wrong in judging a person's actions, because the law would not apply without evidence.

Now, Askelan realized how she could forget one such clear red line. They wouldn't have done any of that if Lintani was just an ordinary person.

“Find my wife right now, and don't come back if you haven't found her!”

Askelan contacted Jordan to surprise the assistant, who thought her employer was already indifferent to Lintani, who was even expelled upon her mother's death in hospital. However, obtaining such an order, inevitably he moved his people again to search.

Jordan first tracks down Lintani's cell phone and lastly works in Askelan's own home.

He immediately called his Boss and had the man check his wife's room. It turned out to be true, that thing left Lintani there.

Of course he didn't bring it because he thought it wasn't his.

“Stupid basis!” askelan muttered while slamming the phone to the floor.

Askelan immediately changed the clothes she had been wearing since yesterday, then, ran out of the house after grasping the car keys. He would walk down the gafi trail starting from the tomb, where he had seen it last time.

He found a cheap motel around the place, which was just a short walk from the cemetery. It was likely that the girl was resting there because it was almost a helap. He asks there and shows Lintani's characteristics, but, the motel party doesn't remember.

Then, he goes to Shane's store and finds that the store is closed, he knocks on the door desperately. Although it's rude, because it's late at night, but, he doesn't care.

“Who, You?” shane asked as he looked at Askelan at the door of his shop.

“I'm her husband!”

Of course the answer made the woman wonder, how could Lintani have a husband who is so authoritative and looks noble like this, but still works as a manual labor in her shop?

“You don't deceive me, Sir!” shane said with a small smile.

“I'm not lying! I abandoned her all this time, and I want to apologize, I'm sorry for being so unkind to her!” That's Askelan's excuse.

“Oh, just deserve!”

“So, did he tell you the purpose of his departure?”

“Yes! He said he would return to his hometown. He wants to live quietly there away from the hustle of the city!”

“What did he say, where is his village?”

“If it's about that, I don't know!”

Askelan ended her conversation and left the place feeling chaotic, as she did not manage to obtain any information about Lintani's whereabouts.

His feelings were increasingly filled with regret, considering that when he did not manage to extract information from the prisoners at that time, until it ended with death they remained silent. Until now he did not know, who had been the mastermind of his pursuit and the cause.
