The Shaw Family Home
Arriving there, the arrival of a small group of Askelan greeted with, a series of protocoler family residence of the upper class. Of course for Askelan and Jordan things like that are common. Unlike Lintani who was a little bit short-sighted, but, Askelan accompanied him patiently.
They are encouraged to enter a spacious room decorated with some unique ornaments and fresh flowers. There is a large dining table that has a lot of food. Askelan walked with both hands clinging to each other approaching someone who was at the window.
Aston was waiting patiently in his wheelchair. The old man forced himself to go home after being in the care for some time, he had to do a check up every day there. Since he was 80 years old, he has always been a permanent resident of one of the hospital's VVIP rooms.
When he met with Lintani yesterday, he was just finished with his medical tests and his body condition is known to be declining. He was very hopeful if his conjecture was right about Lintani. While Lintani, feeling the closeness though, she has just met. Aston's resemblance to Grandfather led the girl to agree to his request for lunch together.
“Ah, you guys are finally here! I think I'd be disappointed if you didn't come!” said the old man who was now neatly dressed and looking fresh, even though his body looked so weak yesterday.
“Master Aston, you look very fresh!” Askelan said as she shook her hand. Lintani did the same.
“Call me Grandpa!” sahut Aceton, while moving the wheelchair closer to the dining table, “Sit!”
Askelan and Lintani sat side by side. An assistant moved Aston to his seat.
“Sorry, I ask for your time, Mr Askel! You must be busy!” aston said when he was comfortable.
While the waiter began to serve his guests, poured some drinking water, put some food on Aston's plate and invited them to eat.
“Not really, all because of my wife's will, whatever I will do, yes, right, darling!” Askelan said as she rubbed Lintani's head then, tilted her head and kissed her cheek gently.
Lintani rewinds her head, as Askelan's attitude makes her nervous. Ah, he's overreacting. Aston smiled to see it.
“Come! Eat up! I'm flattered by the arrival of someone like you, Mr. Asekel!”
They started to enjoy the food they took on the plate, little by little. As usual, Askelan would take food for Lintani and feed her like a baby.
“Do you guys always do that every meal?” ask Aston a little wonder. However, seeing that, he nodded quickly, it was no longer necessary to test the strength of the love of this couple if it was true that Lintani was the original grandson of Shahrain.
“Ya!” sahut Askelan and Lintani simultaneously.
“He will vomit if he does not eat through my hands!” Askelan.
“Grandfather, do you live alone in this house?” ask Lintani on the sidelines.
“Ya!” aston said while putting down the spoon, “Actually I have a grandson, I'm sure Mr. Askel must know who I mean! But, he doesn't want to stay here.”
Askelan nodded, surely the intention of Aston's talk was Yasmin, the woman was almost in a match with him, everyone knew about it.
“He won't accompany me, maybe this house is too old for him,” said Aston filled with feelings of disappointment. He considered Yasmin would not feel at home living in a house that has too many rules. Children of his time would prefer to live alone, because it is free with his wishes without interference from others.
“Maybe he's busy!” lintani said he had no idea who the granddaughter Aston was referring to, as Askelan did not want to talk anything about the family to Lintani
“And this house is not too old. It's a nice house!” lintani continued, making Aston smile.
“This is the home of the Shaw family, there used to be a man named Syahrain Shaw living here!”
“Really? His name is similar to my Grandpa's, but there's no Shaw's name behind his!” lintani said, he had to prove the truth of the story himself and was just curious with honesty.
It seemed that Askelan did not want to get involved at all. He only cared about something related to Lintani's comfort.
After the conversation, they finished their lunch activities. Aston looked excited because Lintani and Askelan valued him as a family.
After eating, Aston tried to move into his wheelchair by himself, but he fell. Askelan who was close enough, immediately lifted him up and, just as he was about to put the weak body in the wheelchair, Aston refused.
“Take me to my room. There's something I'm going to show your wife!” said the old man, still in Askelan's arms.
“Alright!” Askelan took Aston to the room she showed him, Lintani who opened the door, then, laid him on a bed made of old rosewood classic carving.
“Thank you ..” Aston said as Askelan enveloped him.
Suddenly Lintani shouted, “Grandfather Rain!” I looked at one of the walls in the room. He stepped up and his index finger pointed at some photos of the descendants of the Shaw family hanging there.
Lintani looks back at Aston in bed.
“That's Shahrain Shaw! He's my brother!”
‘So, all the stories are true?’ inner Askelan and Lintani simultaneously.
Although, Lintani had once heard the story about the Shaw family, but, he was still sad to see the photo. He hadn't seen his grandfather since 19 years ago, and when he saw his picture in someone else's house, it was heartwarming.
Lintani approached the wall and rubbed the old man's picture, her tears rushing, to imagine how her grandfather had died, which was so sad. His body instantly decayed to the floor, Askelan immediately approached.
“Come! Let's just go home if being here just makes you sad!” askelan said as he hugged his wife.
Aston who heard Askelan's words shouted, “Wait!”
Askelan stood with Lintani in her arms and said, “What else would you say, Mr Shaw? My wife is pregnant and I don't want to see her sad!”
“I know,” said Aston while showing something he took from behind his clothes, “Come!” aston said as he waved his hand inviting Lintani to approach him. The man spread out a slightly weathered old paper on the bed.
The girl sat on the side of the old man and their hands clasped each other. Their gazes were on the paper containing some blurred images.
“If the person in the picture is your grandfather, who is named Syahrain ... means he is a descendant of the Shaw family, that means you are also a grandson of my family ... do you understand?”
Lintani nodded, and said, “Grandfather, means you are also my Grandfather?”
“Of course!”
Then the two men embraced each other.
“Now, tell me, how you live on that remote island!”
Lintani recounts her childhood and how a Shahrain Shaw treated her, with great zeal. The memories with that very short family felt so sweet. Although, many of his memories were lost because he was still too small, but, still the memory is the most useful and memorable memories, during his life.
“What is it, your memories with Syahrain?” ask Aston after Lintani finishes telling the story.
“Yes! The rest of me lived apart from my other Grandpa and brother, I grew up and went to school in this city. My mother left me to my uncle, Luxor. Since then I have never returned to Rasevan, except after I married Elan!”
“Elan? Who's Elan?”
“She, husband!” lintani said as she glanced at the silent Askelan, sitting on the sofa while folding her hands together.
“Did your grandfather give you something as a memento like a bracelet and a stamp made of iron?”
Lintani rethinks all of Pinot's stories of that time, of bracelets and iron seals. During Life she had never seen the stamp they were referring to and she only had the bracelet given by her mother. But the bracelet was left in the Lux family home, and he didn't even think of taking it there. Whether there's still a bracelet or not, he doesn't know.
Lintani didn't have it until she replied, “For what did grandfather give me such a thing? I don't have it, but grandpa did something to me!”
“What is it?”
“Grandfather gave me a sign, mother told me because I was a kid and I only cried all night. Good thing I don't remember ... If I remember that pain, I might forever hate Grandpa!” lintani said with a small laugh.
Aston nodded, saying, “Do you have a photo of your mother?”
Lintani almost shook her head as Askelan stood up and took out a piece of paper from behind her suit pocket.
“I have all the data you want about my wife, Mr Shaw!” askelan.
Lintani looked at Askelan and the document, alternately. She wondered how it was all in her husband's hands. He read the paper that is now in Aston's hands, there is a picture of his mother missing, also a lot of writing underneath.
Suddenly someone came in a hasty step towards them in the room.
“Grandpa!” call that guy.
