Chapter 8 - Civilian Rescue

Hearing a reply from Eva that slightly pierced his heart, Axel rushed himself to move.

He activated his lightning element magic and made his movements much faster. Without a pause, Axel immediately ran down this building to go towards the space at the radio station.

Meanwhile, Eva raised her greatsword. A beautiful bluish light started flowing in some parts of the great sword.

"Now, it's time for slaughter." Eva Sam said with a big smile.

'Blaayarrr!!!'

Stroke his legs when jumping strong enough to crack part of the building.

Seeing his figure, Axel could only gap.

'Is that right?! At least it's 60 meters higher isn't it?!' Axel yelled in his heart after seeing Eva jump from the top of the previous building.

Not only high, Eva's jump is also far enough to get right in the crowd of monsters called Orcs.

Eva strengthened the grip of both hands on her greatsword. Prepare to swing it to the ground.

'Zraaasshhh!! Blaar!!!'

The slash from his greatsword split the concrete easily. Including some of the Orcs that were in front of him.

Axel who saw it from a distance was amazed at its power. It was very clear that Eva was on a much different level than him.

In the middle of a battle with Eva?

Maybe it will only make Axel slashed his sword accidentally.

After understanding that Eva did not need help at all, Axel accelerated his footsteps to the radio station room.

'Zaaapp!!!'

Axel ran fast. And when he was near, he jumped to the side of the window, breaking it to go inside. Actually, it's on the 2nd floor.

The people who saw the appearance of Axel were slightly surprised. But it soon began to calm down because they knew reinforcements had arrived.

"We are from the Liberator fortress, intending to save you. Is there anyone else who hasn't gathered here?" Axel asked firmly.

One of the old men from the crowd of about 10 people replied to Axel's question.

"Below, a little boy was still trapped among the crowd of monsters. We dare not approach him." Reply to the old man.

"I beg! Save my son!" Shouted a woman with a face full of tears.

"understandable. Stay here, I'll be right back." Reply Axel while pulling the short sword from his back.

He walked slowly down the second floor from this place.

Barricades arranged from the table and chairs appear to block the entrance to the second floor. Where people made it to prevent the monster from rising to the second floor.

Axel got rid of everything with the help of his powers.

Unlike before where his lightning streaks moved around his body, this military uniform withstood the effects that could harm the surrounding environment.

Resisting the flow of lightning from Axel's body, but still giving him the advantage of his magic.

Upon arriving at the first floor stairs, Axel saw a crowd of green-skinned monsters. Their numbers reached dozens.

And that little girl?

Axel couldn't see it at all. So did the monsters that seemed to be busy looking for them.

'No one dared to go down. If it was the old me, I would have run away too.' Axel thought in his heart to see how many monsters there were in this place.

His right hand held his sword tightly. A beautiful blue light illuminated the top of his sword blade.

Calmly, Axel tried to fight openly the first time.

'Just relax. I'll be fine. Didn't they say my strength increased by at least 10 times?'

Axel kept trying to calm his mind. To say that he is not nervous in this situation is a big lie.

Of course he was nervous.

He always runs away in situations like this.

But now he has a new responsibility. Or at least....

Axel did not want the little girl to die, killed cruelly by these monsters.

Without a word, Axel immediately darted. Swung his sword towards the green-skinned monster's head.

In a flash....

'Sraaasshhh!! Bruukk!'

"Eh?"

Realizing how easy it was to chop off the monster's head with his sword, Axel was shocked.

Previously, it took him several attacks to kill this monster. But now?

'This sword.... Really very sharp?' Axel asked in himself while looking at the sword.

Thanks to his attack, the herd of monsters began to realize Axel's whereabouts. And quickly, all of them immediately ran after him with their respective weapons.

Apparently, this green-skinned monster belongs to the weakest of the monster army that invaded this world.

'Slicing!'

Axel quickly fended off the axe slash of one of the monsters.

Undeniably, his movement speed, reflexes, and agility had actually increased by a great deal. Even after fending off the attack, Axel could easily counterattack by giving a twisting kick.

'Brahakk!'

Soon after, Axel added it with his sword slash. Cutting off some of the green-skinned monsters' bodies easily.

'Zraaassh! Zraaash!'

Axel's left hand pulled out a knife placed around his waist. Then throw it quickly towards the monster carrying the bow and arrow.

'Swuushh! Jleeb!!'

The knife stuck right in the monster's face. Killed instantly.

'Occredible. So this is my new strength?' Axel asked in his heart while continuing to fight.

Now, dozens of monsters at once was not a problem for him at all. And within 1 minute, everything had been slaughtered to the end.

Axel wasn't even exhausted by that many quick moves during this fight.

Now, after all the monsters are cleared....

"Hello? The people above said you were here little girl! I want to save you! Your mother's looking for you!" Shouted Axel while putting his sword back on his back.

After that shout, Axel heard a light clashing sound in the corner of this room.

'Bruk! Bruk!'

The sound came from the vault that was in the corner of the room. Slowly, Axel approached towards the vault.

"Is there someone inside?" Ask Axel.

'Kreek....'

Slowly, the vault door opened. Showing the figure of a little girl, maybe 7 years old who was hugging her teddy bear.

"Sister will help me?" Ask the little girl.

Instantly, Axel remembered his sister. He could only be thankful that his sister was now inside the safe fortress.

But what if it doesn't?

What if Axel himself doesn't have the power to protect his sister?

Putting aside his negative thoughts, Axel immediately knelt down and extended both of his hands with a smile.

"Just calm. I'll take you back to your mother." Reply Axel.

Slowly, the girl's face began to blush. His eyes began to glaze over. And finally, he cried.

"Yahoooo!!! Mama!!! I'm scared!!!" Shouted the girl while crying sobbing. He slowly walked towards Axel, where Axel immediately hugged and held him.

While holding her, Axel felt that the girl was so light. Moreover, after Axel noticed her further, the girl was really skinny.

'i understand. It must be hard to find food, right? Moreover, under such dangerous circumstances.' Axel thought in his heart.

Axel carried her and brought her back upstairs.

"Yeah.... Calm yourself. Your mother's still waiting for you upstairs." Axel said as he stroked the back of the little girl who kept crying.

Upon arriving on the second floor, Axel handed the girl over to her mother.

"Thank you very much! Thank you very much! I will forever be indebted to you!" Shouted the woman while crying with a happy feeling.

Hearing the thanks, Axel again remembered the question his sister some time ago.

'Why didn't I help her? Pardon me....' Axel thought in his heart.

He remembered the woman in red clothes he met while looking for food first. Where Axel just fell silent, let him be killed by the monsters.

Is it because he has no power?

Or because you don't have the courage?

If at that time, He had this much power, would he have helped him?

Axel immediately ignored the negative thoughts and returned to his task.

"I know we have come to help you. But the biggest problem is still unresolved.

That is escorting you 150km towards the Liberator fortress. Where the journey is possible.... It'll take a few days to walk." Axel.

Hearing that, the faces of everyone in this place started to harden.

That the most difficult thing in this mission, is to escort them into the fortress for 150km more and protect them from the attacks of the monsters.
