'Slicing!'
The loud iron sound was heard shortly after Axel regained his consciousness.
What was in front of him, was just a thick glass wall. Almost the same as what he saw at the North American Liberator headquarters.
'Klalong!'
His hands and feet could not move. Everything is held back by a layered steel restraint that prevents Axel from escaping.
His body was attached to that steel wall. Getting out is something that is not possible.
'Bytleek!'
After a while, someone appeared to enter from the side through the thick steel door.
Axel never saw the guy. He has a fairly short appearance. Her gray hair made her age clear. And also with his pretty slow footsteps.
Beside him were several other workers wearing similar uniforms. It was a white lab coat with several clipboards to record whatever they observed in their left hand.
"Hoo.... Looks like you've woken up, Axel." The old man said kindly. The English is a little stiff.
"Professor, be careful. This subject could injure the A-01 pretty badly even with a low-level weapon." Said a young man beside him in Japanese.
"But isn't that steel restraint strong enough to hold it?" Reply to the woman next to the professor.
Axel on the other hand could only fall silent in confusion. Not understanding what to do in this situation.
But apparently, the professor before him was quite friendly.
"Sorry, but where am I? And why?" Axel asked curiously.
The professor walked over to Axel with a friendly smile. Looking into Axel's eyes, he answered.
"Underground research facility in Osaka. As for why, it's because you're a Liberator who made it to S rank. Of course." The professor answered kindly.
He then gave a signal to some other researchers next to him. Where they immediately understood what to do by walking away to the corner of this room. Look for something in the stack of existing toolboxes.
"Why indeed? Didn't we from North America agree to help you?"
Hearing Axel's words, the old Professor laughed lightly.
"Haha.... Ahaha! Ehaha!"
The longer, the laughter became louder. Like someone who has lost his mind.
"I'm sorry.... Haha.... Really, I'm sorry. But what we need is not you, Axel. Except for your ability." Continue the Professor.
Some of his assistants then handed him knives and various other surgical tools. Slowly, the Professor approached Axel while pointing the surgical instrument at his body.
"Wait, what are you doing?! What are you guys going to do?!" Axel panicked.
"What's? Of course dissect your body to find out how your evolutionary process goes. And with that.... Ahahaha!!!"
The professor has absolutely no intention of continuing. He just laughed like crazy while continuing to dissect Axel's body.
At the same time, all the assistants beside him began to heal Axel's body with abilities similar to those of Leona and Frans. Although, a little more rough.
"Kough! Aaaarrggh! Stopit! Stop...."
Before Axel managed to shout out what was on his mind, the Professor stopped whatever he was doing and pulled Axel's tongue out.
Without hesitation, immediately cut it off just like that.
"Don't heal his tongue. Aah, that's right. His vocal cords are too." Said the Professor who immediately pierced Axel's neck. Dissect it to damage the vocal cords in Axel's throat.
Prevent him from speaking not only, but also speaking forever.
"Prepare to do it, Professor Akihiko." Reply to his assistants while continuing to heal Axel's body except for him.
What happens next is hell in this world.
Every day always starts with his body being dissected for research. But Axel himself also did not understand what was actually researched by doing this.
One day, they'll check his stomach. The other day, they would check his arm. And so do the other days.
At the very least, they would allow the previously researched sections to rest for one Week. And never touched it during the recovery period.
But the worst is every day the 7th and multiples.
Where they'll examine Axel's brain directly.
"Pacify yourself, Axel. We just need to find out if there's a certain connection between the evolution of that electrical element of yours and your brain. Just chill. Don't make a fight." Said the Professor.
Even so, Axel's body could not stop moving. Every time the surgical instrument touched the inside of his brain, some parts of his body instantly elicited a response and moved reflexively.
Occasionally, his vision completely disappeared when the professor made a mistake and injured the part of the brain that regulates his vision.
And their response was cold.
"Sorry, please heal this part. I just messed up a little." Said the Professor.
Immediately, his entire assistant healed the passage. Give Axel one more chance to see.
But also the chance to be tormented by it.
'When will this end?'
The question began to be etched in his heart.
Previously, Axel had always hoped to survive a little longer so that he could enjoy a peaceful life with his sister. And also with those closest to him.
Now then?
Axel had always hoped that his body would succumb to contamination with the Flux and die.
He just wants all this suffering to end.
Even though Axel wanted to scream with all his might to vent the pain he felt, he could not do it at all.
Axel doesn't even have the ability to do that.
Slowly....
He began to lose consciousness of time itself.
When the examination of his body took place, the time went on for so long. It felt like the torture she endured went on forever.
But when the examination of his body was completed, time seemed to just fly away. And suddenly has returned to the same routine as before.
"Filipino.... Good job today, Axel. You finally stopped rebelling after day 32 huh?" Professor told Axel.
The body of the young man has completely changed.
Even if it can heal the wounds experienced during the examination, the assistants of Professor Akihiko were not able to completely remove the scars that arise.
And once in a while, they had to treat Axel's body with conventional methods. Like sewing his scar.
That's what makes the whole body of Axel which is currently filled with stitches.
"See you tomorrow, Axel. Your body is like a gold mine. We got a lot of useful data there."
Axel no longer knows when this will happen. Also when it will end.
In his heart, it is only a hope that the fort in North America remains safe.
I don't know why....
Axel had a bad feeling there.
