Chapter 16 - Break

Thanks to Trevos' behavior, Axel became reminded of one other important thing. Without his meeting with Trevos, maybe Axel will forget it until the day H.

His weapon.

He breaks both his own weapon and Eva's one in his fight with the Dread Rider.

If the Oracle suddenly gave an impromptu mission or something, how would he be on duty without possessing a single weapon?

With that in mind, Axel stopped his elevator on the B6 floor.

Equipment Center

'Ding!'

The elevator door opened again. And now, it shows a fairly large room with various items in the storage warehouse.

In the distance, Axel could see many workers who walked to and fro transporting combat equipment.

Some appear to carry modern weapons such as rifles, some appear to carry weapons similar to those used by members of the special division.

It was a weapon that seemed like a medieval weaponry. Covering swords, shields, spears and so on.

Axel wondered why fight with such a weapon if there was a rifle?

But he immediately understood it after seeing the weapon experiment beside where he stood. Where some people seem to try various weapons to attack the Wyvern scales that seem to come from Axel's quarry yesterday.

On one hand, some of the special division weapons were capable of scraping Wyvern's scales. Not used by members of a special division.

On the other hand, the machine gun fired in a row was difficult to give a meaningful scratch. And worse, the machine gun had limited ammunition.

Perhaps a machine gun would come in handy when fighting low monsters like Goblins and Orcs. But facing Wyvern? Or worse, the Dread Rider? It might not be useful at all.

While Axel was looking around the B6 floor, a bald man with a burly body appeared to pat his shoulder quite hard.

'Plak!'

"Hohoho.... If it wasn't Axel who beat the Dread Rider by himself. What's up here?" Speak to the main guard on this floor with a big smile.

"Aaah, you were the uncle at the time. Look, my sword...."

"Break didn't? But I didn't think you could break our sword so easily. You know it's made of a very strong special metal, right?" Reply The bald man seemed to know what happened.

"eeh? You know that?" Reply Axel.

"of course. News of your achievement has spread everywhere. Therefore, the Oracle asked me to create a new weapon for you." Said the bald man while walking in a direction.

He slightly nodded his head several times, hinting that Axel was following him.

The two walked through several aisles until they finally arrived at a storage warehouse.

The bald man appears to have picked up a weapon and handed it to Axel. It's just....

"Huh? A bow?" Axel asked in confusion.

"You know, your weapon-making materials are quite rare and difficult to obtain. So for now, use your bow and arrow as your weapon. Or at least, it was a message from Oracle." Obviously that bald guy.

What was in Axel's hand was a mechanical bow shaped like a regular stick with many segments.

When he releases the key, it opens and becomes a large bow made of metal similar to other weapons.

The bow also seemed to light up with a beautiful bluish light on part of his body.

While the arrows prepared by the bald man were 50 pieces. Where the end of the arrow is made of the same material as the bow.

"At least, you can't break that bow, right?" Said the bald man with a smile.

"But how do I fight at close range?" Ask Axel.

"Just close the bow again. It can be a spear or a sword with both ends sharp enough."

Axel no longer had the words to reply to this bald man.

If the Oracle did think that this weapon was suitable for him, how else would it be? After all, his previous sword was unable to last long when used in a state strengthened by the Flux Booster.

'Maybe I'll start learning archery. But at the moment....' Axel thought in his heart as he hooked the bow and bag containing the arrow on his back.

Finally, everything is in order.

Now, Axel has come out of the basement of the Liberator's military building.

The top floor of this military building is much more crowded with many people walking around here and there for their respective activities.

But as a member of the Liberator special division, Axel got a slightly more privileged treatment compared to everyone else.

"Baked meat! We have roasted beef for you, Sir!" Said an old woman while showing off the roast meat in the canteen.

Axel rejected everything subtly.

If He wants to enjoy all the benefits, at least He wants to enjoy it with his sister.

"Hm.... The special division relatives apartment.... Where's?" Axel asked in confusion.

"Master looking for a special apartment for Liberator? Come on, I'll take you." Said a young man in a black uniform.

He was none other than a part of the military inside this fortress. But according to the Oracle, not all humans evolved with great power.

And only those who exceed certain limits are even entitled to undergo Flux surgery. Where they will not accept it.

While the rest....

Not far from ordinary people.

Both of them walked under the illumination of this bright light. It was as if reflecting the sunlight even though the city was underground.

"Hey, will the lamp always be on?" Ask Axel.

"No. At night, the lights will be turned off. It really helps our sleep and work cycles." Reply to the young man with a smile.

Axel was indeed told that the Liberator's grey uniform would give him a slightly more privileged treatment. But he didn't expect it to go this far.

After a while, they finally arrived.

In front of the two, was a building complex with a hexagon-like shape with a spacious garden in its center.

Several guard soldiers in black uniforms appeared to be patrolling around this large apartment.

"We have arrived, Mr. Axel. Have a good rest." Said the employee before going back to the military headquarters.

Axel walked into the apartment, where he was very well welcomed by the guards and employees in this apartment.

"Chloe, she's my sister. Where does she live?" Axel asked one of the officers in the lobby.

"Aaah, so you're Mr Axel? Your sister is always waiting for you to come back. Come on, I'll deliver." Said the girl friendly.

This apartment is not only large and spacious, but also so beautiful with many decorations and employees who keep their cleanliness.

Axel walked up the elevator. The goal is to the 3rd floor, which is the floor where his sister lives.

In this huge building, one floor has only 6 rooms. Each one with such a large size.

"Your sister is in room 301. Have a good rest, Mr. Axel." Said the employee girl while bowing her body towards Axel.

"Thank you."

Right now, Axel was standing right in front of the door with that number 301.

His heart was a little beating.

Will his sister be angry? Or will it be happy to see it become like this?

Become a truly reliable and trustworthy person.

'If I think about it, I'll only be separated from Chloe for 2 or 3 weeks. But I don't know why.... Feels like it's been separated a lot longer than that.' Axel thought for a moment before knocking on the wooden door.

Until finally, after gathering all his courage, Axel also knocked on the door.

'Dok! Doc! Doc!'

"Chloe, it's me. You're in there?" Ask Axel.

'Bruk! Bruk! Bruk!'

The sound of hasty footsteps could be heard from behind that door. Makes Axel a little surprised.

As soon as the door of the room opened, Chloe's figure immediately jumped towards Axel standing up. Hugged it with all his might.

"Chloe?" Axel asked in surprise.

Axel himself could not see his sister's face. But he could feel it, that the girl was crying.

"Foolish brother, why just leave without informing me? Wh why? How do you think I feel when I hear you're falling helpless out there? You're...." Chloe said as she continued to lightly hit Axel on the back.

Axel didn't know what to answer. But both of his arms knew what to act like.

Slowly, Axel embraced then hugged the girl's body. Occasionally, stroking her hair gently.

In the end, there was only one word that came out of Axel's mouth.

"Sorry."
