Chapter 41 - The Power Generation Incident 4

"Akane! Akane! You okay?!" Axel asked while shouting. He tries to make sure that Akane is still able to breathe.

But when Axel brought his ears closer to hear Akane's breath....

"Damn it! Hang on!" Axel said, realizing that Akane was no longer breathing.

Axel thought of injecting the Flux Booster to save Akane in this situation. It's just, the thought he immediately threw away when remembering his condition after getting 2x injections of Flux Booster.

Now, Axel is trying to make sure that Akane's heart is still beating.

As Axel brought his ear closer to Akane's left chest....

"Americans really don't know themselves? Uhuk! Kugh!" Akane said suddenly.

Blood kept coming out of his mouth as Akane spoke. However, the wound on his neck slowly began to close. Stopping the potential for heavy bleeding in his body.

"Well.... Thank goodness you're alive." Axel said he felt relieved after seeing Akane rise again.

On the other hand, Akane gave a slightly sharp look towards Axel while saying.

"My body's regeneration is pretty good. But besides, you didn't do anything when I passed out, did you?"

"Huh? Did what? I'm trying to save you!" Axel's reply was upset.

"Don't pretend to be stupid. I know Americans like you think such activities are like everyday food."

Now, the wound on Akane's neck had completely healed. It left only traces of blood on his neck and clothes.

His body's regeneration speed was, even far beyond the average regeneration ability of a physical-type Liberator. Which makes Axel a little surprised.

Akane, no longer answer the words of Axel. He simply cleaned the blood from his neck and clothes with a cloth that was nearby.

...Center of Power Plant Complex...

After taking over his weapon from the ruins of the watchtower, Axel and Akane re-explore the power plant complex.

Now, Axel and Akane are standing right in front of a Flux energy reactor. The reactor has a hexagon shape with a size that is as big as a 6-story building.

Around the reactor, thousands of corpses of monsters and other living monsters seemed to be trying to walk closer to the reactor. Treading the bodies of other monsters that had been lying around.

The pile of bodies was high enough to be several meters around the reactor.

They tried their hardest to grab the center of the Flux power plant reactor itself.

"What the fuck?" Axel said confused when he saw the scene.

Akane just kept quiet. He didn't say a word.

Realizing that, Axel began to regain prejudice against Akane. As if she was hiding something.

But before Axel asked, Akane had answered him.

"I know what you're thinking. Why am I not surprised, right?" Ask Akane.

Now it was Axel's turn to be speechless.

"I used to work in an engine factory, it's common to see a Flux reactor at my workplace. Even though it's a lot smaller than this." Akane continues.

"What about the monsters?" Ask Axel.

The monsters completely ignored the existence of Axel and Akane as well completely. And just keep running, and trying to climb the reactor.

"That monster?" Ask Akane.

A faint smile began to be painted on his face. Axel's suspicions begin to come true.

"Have you forgotten what I asked you before entering this power plant complex?" Ask Akane again.

"You mean, about that Flux?" Ask Axel.

"Flux is the blood of a dimensional crack. Which blinds even intelligent beings like humans to try to master it. What about lowly creatures like those monsters? Of course the same thing will happen to them." Obviously Akane with a face full of confidence.

Hearing that answer, Axel immediately understood what Akane meant.

"Like a herd of moths attracted to the light of a lamp.... You mean like that?" Reply Axel.

He casually passed through the ranks of the monsters without any fear.

Every now and then, Akane's right hand seemed to be enveloped by the hot red flames. Melted the body of any monster touched by his right hand.

Axel walked along. Following the footsteps of the red-haired woman.

Little by little, they finally arrived right in front of the Flux energy power plant's reactor.

The two began to climb upwards. Ride up the seamless steel walls of the reactor.

That is 6 pieces of thick circular glass pipes with sizes from large to small from bottom to top. The glass pipe appears to have a dark blue liquid in it. What is unmistakable is a Flux liquid with high purity.

In the middle of the entire pipe, there are 6 large metal pillars and connected to various joints on the side.

The metal pillar is a tool to capture Flux energy that is released from the rotation of the pipe and convert it into electrical energy.

But nevertheless....

There's one strange thing.

One of the six pipes broke and leaked. Dropped a lot of Flux fluid into the ground.

The liquid with such a high energy, slowly began to evaporate and pollute the air around.

"So that's it?" Akane said as if understanding something.

'Did I misjudge Akane? I think it is. If he has bad intentions, why help us?' Axel asked in his heart.

On the Liberator fortress, humanity also hoarded a huge amount of Flux energy. But the Flux never called out to the monsters because it was sealed so tightly.

His body was so big, it was 9 meters tall. But the problem is, his body is formed from hundreds of other monsters that seem to stick to his body.

And everything is alive and moving. Continuously shouting as if always in pain.

"Axel's? What's up there?" Ask Akane who has come down to the bottom of the reactor.

"Akane! Quickly finish whatever you do! Something bad just came!" Reply Axel.

"I understand, but be patient a little." Akane replied as she continued to try to insert the blue viscous liquid that splashed on the ground.

Little by little, dredge it with the shards of glass around it. Put the liquid into the glass jar.

But the monster Axel saw?

He had no intention of waiting.

With his 6 legs so deformed, the monster continued to run. Directed right into the reactor it was in.
