Chapter 55 - Medications

"Good job, Axel. Eva." Said the Oracle briefly to the two of them in this meeting room.

All troops and civilian workers have been recalled to the headquarters in light of the incident. Even so, Oracle and the rest of the team were still unable to understand the motive of the beast.

"Is there some sort of tool that distracts the monster? Why is the Chimera retreating?" Axel asked curiously.

"We don't know either. But there's no other wave or flux around. Follow-up observations also showed the Chimera went to look for food." Reply to Oracle while showing video of the satellite image.

On a large projector screen, the view of the Chimera previously fought by Axel can be seen clearly.

Right now, the monster was busy slaughtering hundreds of Orcs alone and eating their flesh.

"So they're not on the same side as those monsters?" Ask Eva.

Several Liberators and other soldiers from East Asia appear to have noticed this discovery.

In fact, Akane from East Asia also first saw this incident.

The red-haired woman whispered with a fellow Liberator from East Asia next to her. Discuss the discovery of this monster.

"Hao Yu, we've never seen this before, have we?x Tanya Akane's.

"No. There has never been such a beast in Japan. Or at least around Osaka." Reply Hao Yu with a stiff face.

The two realize that this discovery may affect their grand plans.

On the other hand, Leona and Frans appear to be waving their hands towards Axel. Ask him to follow her.

"You're using Booster again?" Ask Leona.

"That's how...."

Axel knew that his age had been cut off by Eva's help. But how else?

Axel could think of no other way to fight the Chimera at that time without using Booster. It would be better to wear one and survive without a wound, compared to not wearing it at all and then suffering a fatal wound.

That was what Axel had in mind at the time.

"Honestly, your body may not last much longer. The damage to the cells in your body from Flux has been quite severe, it can even be said to be a miracle you can still fight like that." Clearly Leona with a sharp look.

Hearing that scolding, Axel simply fell silent. After all, he will immediately stop working after fulfilling a mission from East Asia right?

"Can you not tell me that?" Reply Axel while reaching for the three injections.

He noticed the two-fingered device. Flip it around to see the whole part of the syringe.

"Best? You mean it's medicine?"

"I told you it was an experimental drug, and I used it on you. If successful, humanity may be able to counteract the side effects of excessive use of Flux as Liberators do."

Instantly, Axel's two eyes opened wide. He could not believe that such a powerful drug would actually be developed.

Even if it was still in the testing stage, but Axel could understand the main potential of this drug.

In other words, Liberators no longer need to face the fear of so many cut ages.

"This drug will treat cell damage in the body of its users due to Flux. Then regenerate that cell as it should.

Side effects are known that drowsiness is extraordinary and physical ability decreases dramatically for 24 hours. Make sure to only use the drug when it's off." Obviously Leona while leaning her back against that iron wall.

"So.... Will there be broader expectations for Liberators?"

Frans only nodded briefly. Indicates that what Axel thinks is true.

"Remember, this drug is strictly confidential. Don't let those people from East Asia know." Whisper Leona.

"I understand." Reply Axel briefly.

"East Asia is keeping something a secret, that's what we know. But so do we. In short, they can't be trusted." Reply Frans while walking away.

"Remember. Use only on holidays." Said Leona who also left Axel alone in this room.

After looking back at the three injections, Axel put them in a bag behind his uniform before returning to the meeting room.

"Axel, what's wrong?" Eva asked curiously.

At first glance, Axel can see Liberators from East Asia, including Akane, listening to the conversation between the two of them.

"No, Leona just reminded me not to use Booster carelessly. You know that, right? Side effects." Axel said while pointing to his back.

If considered well, Axel's back to the back of his neck looks to have a purple-black skin color. Signifies cell damage that is bad enough as a result of excessive Flux use.

Of course, just as requested by Leona, Axel would keep this medicine as private as possible.

And after learning what the two of them were talking about, the Liberators from East Asia seemed to start walking away.

Realizing that their conversation was not very useful for East Asia.

"Your injuries are bad enough too huh?" Reply Eva while watching Axel's back neck.

"No problem. I'm still alive anyway. By the way, do you want to have dinner with me?" Ask Axel.

"Eh? I didn't hear wrong? You're the one who took me?" Eva asked back with a big smile.

"Yes. That's also if you want to."

"of course! Over where? Meat? Meat right? I know, we're gonna eat meat!"

The enthusiasm from Eva was a little relief to be seen by Axel. Least.... Makes him slightly forget the fact that his current lifespan is only less than 10 months away.
