Chapter 38 - The Power Generation Incident 1

Los Angeles, California, North America.

Axel, assisted by Akane, managed to utilize one of the vehicles that can still light up on this road.

Both take over a big bike and fill it with fuel around it. Or rather, take the leftover fuel in other vehicles around them.

"You can really tamper with the engine?" Axel asked amazed to see the figure of Akane who slightly dismantled the Harle D motorbike. That's.

"That's easy. I worked a machine factory before the world turned upside down like this." Akane replied calmly.

The sound of engine keys and other workshop equipment sounded quite loud when thrown by Akane regarding this asphalt road.

Of course, all the gear was 'Recovered' by Akane from the trunk of the car around.

And Axel can only look in amazement at Akane's ability to repair the motor vehicle.

Until finally, after about 1 hour and also 6 fuel tanks of the car they stole....

The engine sound from the motor was so loud. Solving the loneliness in the middle of this dead city.

Akane continuously pulled the gas in the motor, making sure the engine didn't shut down. After a while, Akane immediately boarded it.

"What are you waiting for? Quick ride." Akane said with a posture ready to ride the HD motorbike.

"Eh? I'm in the back?" Axel asked in confusion.

"Huh? Why why anyway? Besides, I'm the one who fixed this bike, so it's mine now." Reply to Akane who wasn't wearing the helmet.

After swallowing his embarrassment for a moment, Axel also piggybacked behind.

"You know, I could've run and...."

"Huh? You know sector D that Oracle refers to is San Francisco, right? You think you can run 620 kilometers without stopping?" Ask Akane again.

'BROOOOOM!'

All of a sudden, Akane immediately pulled the motor gas with all her might. Make the motor run very fast for a moment.

Once again, Akane sped up the speed of her vehicle abruptly. Axel was shocked and almost fell off the bike.

"Damn it! What are you doing?!" Shouted Axel annoyed.

"Buahaha! Unlike what I imagined, Americans aren't that great either?" Akane replied with a loud laugh.

"What did you say?! Wh-wait! Why are you braking all of a sudden! A moment! Don't drive suddenly again!"

The 620-kilometer journey continues.

With Axel who always suffers from Akane jokes that he thinks, is not funny at all.

San Francisco, California, North America.

After about a 5-hour drive through the mostly ruined road, the two of them finally arrived.

In the presence of a huge power plant complex.

Mentioning it being in the presence might be less precise, because right now, they were looking at the power plant complex from the top of one of the hills.

But unfortunately, everything collapsed.

The defensive walls, large-caliber machine guns, as well as the electric-powered wire fence had collapsed. Leave only the Flux power plant facility itself.

Akane slowly starts stopping the bike and then turns off the engine.

Axel who was sitting in the back earlier is now down immediately. And so did Akane.

"Isn't it ironic?" Akane said while paying attention to the view of the power plant complex.

"A technology that is considered to save humanity from an energy crisis, it eliminates civilization itself. And turn humanity, into something that is not human." Akane continued while letting out a bit of fire from her right hand.

Axel who listened to Akane's statement also agreed.

If only....

Humanity has never discovered the energy now called Flux, will life be any different?

And though mankind has never faced monsters from this other dimension....

Will the world remain peaceful?

No one knows for sure.

But this is the reality. A world that has died, with all its defects.

"Hey, Axel. Do you know what Flux is?" Akane asked suddenly while turning her body.

"Hmm? Very dense energy and also a strong electricity producer is not it?" Reply Axel is confused.

He's never asked that before.

That's because Axel doesn't have to think about it. As long as he and his sister can enjoy free electricity from the Flux, there is no point in asking further, right?

The evidence is in plain sight, right?

"Do you know why it's called Flux?" Ask Akane again.

"No.... I don't know." Reply Axel.

Akane then lifted the Flux Booster capsule on her right waist. He pointed it at Axel while flipping through the capsule where the bluish liquid inside moved to and fro.

"Flux means flow. A stream from another dimension. Perhaps what keeps those two dimensions from ever meeting at all is the Flux itself." It was clear Akane with a reassuring look.

Axel was silent. He was trying to understand what Akane was going to mean himself.

"And humanity thinks it's a good idea to tear apart those inter-dimensional gaps, where that 'Water' of energy flows so profusely every time humans tear it apart. And from there formed a portal and a dimensional drill." Clearly Akane is further.

"Wait a minute, I still can't keep up with him and...."

"You gotit? This is the blood that the universe inflicted when humanity went too far, transcending their limits by destroying the boundary of the dimension itself." Akane continued without giving Axel a chance to speak.

But now, with that sentence, Axel began to understand a little what Akane meant.

He began to narrow his eyes before replying to the long red-haired woman's statement.

"So you said.... Is this our punishment? Punishment for mankind?" Ask Axel.

Unexpectedly, a wide smile was painted on Akane's beautiful face.

However, what came out of his mouth was completely unexpected by Axel.

"That's if you're a pessimist. But to me, a pretty optimistic person...." Akane said as she began to play fire magic in her right hand.

Axel just kept silent, waiting for what Akane really meant.

"That means humanity has acquired the means to subjugate the universe itself. And using their 'blood' as material for mankind to continue to evolve." Akane continued while turning her body.

Looking straight into Axel's eyes.

At that moment, Axel had not noticed it at all. He knows nothing of the reality of this world.

But the real enemy of all events in this world....

It is humanity itself. Hiding behind their savior masks while distorting the reality of this world.
