I don't think time goes so fast. Izam is now about three years old. The age at which he is active. So is Salsa who always imitates what Izam does.
Hana, the son of Pandu and Ani, is the same age as Izam. The difference is, now Ani has pregnant again the child from Pandu. Mr. Minto passed away a few weeks ago. And Pandu's memory starts to recover slowly every day.
"She, I just want to work in the city. Don't you want to come with me with Hana? You're pregnant I can't bear to leave you alone here" Pandu spoke to Ani by rubbing Hana's sleeping head on her lap.
"Why go to the city? Can't Mas Pandu just work here like you used to?" Ani asked Pandu intending to voice her objection.
"I'm not a father who can treat people. I could only make medicine for myself, even because it was taught by your Father a few weeks before your Father died. Maybe your father has a feeling. And I who do not have special skills, here can not get a job, because they are on average doing it themselves. Unlike in the city where most people depend on other people to do their work," Pandu explained to Ani trying to convince Ani that she would want to come with him to the city.
"But where are we going to live Mas? We don't have a place to live and the money we have is mediocre. If we go into town, will our money be enough?" Ani told her of her fears while in town.
"I'm a man, I'll try to find money and a place to live for you guys" Pandu tries to convince Ani.
Ani seemed to think, she did not want to be away from her husband, especially now her father was gone. And he also has Hana who will definitely look for his father. Not to mention later for example she needs something or cravings because she is pregnant at this time.
Pandu indeed wants to search for his lost memories in the city. But he also intends to work there because he has to support his family. He did want to find the woman in his dream, but he also could not leave his wife and child, especially now his wife is pregnant with their second child.
"Think about it, what are we gonna eat here?" Pandu tries to make Ani understand.
"Eating as usual, as it were," answered Ani who was still thinking about Pandu's desire to take her to the city.
"Okay, we can eat potluck, then what about Hana? Can't you think about it? What about the school? Where am I for school fees?" Pandu said with a slight annoyance at Ani for not understanding Pandu's anxiety about their living expenses.
"Please Ani. don't be selfish, don't just think about yourself, think about the lives of our children," Pandu now said softly so that Ani would agree to his request.
Ani thought again. In her heart she confirmed all her husband's words. It is true that they have to think about the cost of their child's school. Schools may not pay, but for books, uniforms, shoes, bags and others will certainly be very expensive, while they do not have the money to buy it.
With a heavy heart, Ani agreed. Ani saw all the corners of the house room full of memories of her family. Now he has to leave her. He will surely miss her very much. Missed all the memories that woke up in that house with his Father and Mother. And the memories of when Pandu began his days as a Pandu.
"alright. When are we leaving?" Ani asked with a heavy heart.
"Tomorrow. How about we go tomorrow?" said Pandu with great enthusiasm.
"Can't I just back off a few days?" asked Ani who seemed heavy leaving her house.
"Faster is better," replied Pandu who seemed to be uncontested.
The next morning Pandu invites Ani and Hana to walk out of the forest area. Pandu held Hana and carried several bags containing their clothes. The clothes they have are not much, so the clothes they carry are only a little.
They walk because they do not have a vehicle. Often they stop to rest in a place or on the side of the road. They now look like aimless vagabonds.
Until a pick up car passed them. And the pick-up car will give you a ride when Pandu stops it.
"Okay sir, it's okay. We are very grateful even," replied Pandu.
And they also boarded the pick up car to be able to arrive at the village mentioned by the pick up driver earlier.
In a village they did not know the pick up car was stopped. They got out of the car to find a place they could stay because it was getting dark.
"Sir, Hana's hungry." Hana starts whining about hunger.
"In the meantime, we'll find a place that sells food first" Ani told Hana.
"The food we brought is finished, ma'am?" Pandu asked Ani about the food they brought from home.
"Already from now sir, even I was holding my hunger from now on. Lately my appetite has increased" Ani replied.
"Yes I'm going to buy food. You are here first so you are not tired," Pandu asked Ani to wait for him.
"Sir, Hana's coming. Hana wants to choose her food," said plain Hana who does not know the financial condition of her parents.
Pandu carried Hana walking in search of food stalls. Until they arrived at the stall that there were several buyers eating at the stall.
"Sir, Hana wants it," said Hana while pointing at the fried chicken in the shop window.
It must be expensive, but it's a pity that Hana can't eat it. Besides, I would be ashamed if I did not comply with Hana's request, Pandu said in his heart.
"Mom, two packs of rice. Only one uses fried chicken and the other uses tempeh tofu, yes" said Pandu to the seller who stood in front of him.
The seller also wrapped the rice according to Pandu's order. And receive money from Pandu.
"Sir, where are we going now? Hana is tired, Hana wants to sleep," Hana said as they waited for change from the shop's mother.
"Well you're not here, are you?" ask a customer who helps the owner of the shop.
"Not Ma'am, we just got here, and we're here to look for work, so we don't have a place to stay yet" Pandu replied with a clumsy smile.
"Why don't you guys just try to go to Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin?" said the woman.
"Ofraa!" the owner of the shop called out to the woman.
"It's not so Madam Mirna, who knows at Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin they can stay while working to help there," Anita gave her opinion.
"Al-Mukmin Boarding School? Where is that? Is it true we can stay there?" Pandu asked enthusiastically.
