After spending three days at a beach, they returned to their previous activities. After the holidays Raihan returned to live with his mother and father.
He was surprised to find a new house bigger than before. Alina also explained that they had to move, because the residence yesterday was not comfortable. That is the lie he gave the baby.
Right on this day the age of Alina content enters five months. The fetus in the stomach has begun to feel kicking to surprise his parents. Their happiness increases with the existence of the baby.
The clock shows at six in the morning, Zaidan's little family is enjoying breakfast together. Zaidan continued to chat with the baby in Alina's stomach. Sometimes they laugh when they feel a small kick from the baby.
Raihan who was sitting across from them could only look at the togetherness of his father and mother. Bribe by mouthful of rice he put into the mouth cavity that somehow feels tight in the chest.
He spent nearly two months with his father, Azam. During that time Raihan did not meet his father and mother.
Like a child abandoned, he thought Alina and Zaidan didn't want him anymore.
After he was at Azam's house, they took him on vacation. The uncomfortable feeling that suddenly greeted him also made Raihan a little silent.
The boy was watching mom and dad she continued who just spent time together without caring about her whereabouts.
"I'm done," said Raihan, then moved away from his seat, grabbing a school bag. Alina and Zaidan were flabbergasted and looked in the same direction.
"Eh, you're done eating, honey?" alina asked, looking at her baby.
Raihan nodded briefly then gave a knotty smile. He shook his parents' hands and set his feet. However, before that happened Zaidan's voice stopped.
"Darling, let's go together" she asked.
Without looking back Raihan shook his head. "No need, Dad. Today I promised to go to school with a friend" she said.
"Ah, alright then be careful on the road," Zaidan replied again.
"Yes be careful on the road, honey," continued Alina.
"Eum, Assalamu'alaikum."
"Wa'alaikumsalam" replied Alina and Zaidan.
...***...
Along the way to the school with the route being far away, Raihan kept his head down. Many times he sighed with a feeling of tightness just suddenly rained on him again.
"Have you and Mom forgotten me now? Since they're gonna have a new kid, am I just gonna be forgotten?" mumbled wailing.
Not long after, a light pat landed on his back. Raihan looked back to find a little hijab girl smiling sweetly at him.
"Good morning, Raihan," she said kindly.
"Oh, Cyla? Good morning," Raihan replied to find his classmate.
Cyla Haniyah, a child of the Haniyah family who is attached to his religion, frowned. He walked along with Raihan while continuing to pay attention to him.
"Is something bothering you?" ask the smart girl.
"Ah .. oh, nothing. Why are you asking?" ask Raihan.
Cyla smiled then looked straight ahead at the many pedestrians on the sidewalk. "No, it's just like you're thinking something."
Raihan who was born from a broken home family with both parents already has their own family also feels alienated. He cannot be like other children who freely express happiness with father and mother.
"Cyla, can .. can I ask?" asked Raihan a little doubtful.
Cyla turned her head and nodded briefly. "Sure, what do you want to ask?"
Raihan took a quick look at her and returned down. "What would you do if ... if your mother had a new family? I mean, if your mom gets married and has a child with your new dad?" he said with a fear tone.
Unexpectedly Cyla developed a smile, the white-veiled girl looked up at the gray sky this morning.
"You know .. I currently have a new father. My new mother and father had lived together for three years and seemed happy even though. Then, I had a younger brother, and my new mother and father's love was more and more directed towards him."
"But I can't do anything, I want to complain for nothing. I can only accept this situation with a smile."
The words of the eight-year-old girl were like an adult woman who understood every circumstance. Cyla is also the child of a broken home where her parents separated when she was three months old. He did not know how his biological father looked and had been living with his maternal grandmother.
Knowing if his mother remarried he could only swallow the sadness and pretend to be strong behind a smile.
Hearing the brief story of his classmates, Raihan turned to watch the crescent moon perched beautifully on his beautiful face.
"I'm .. sorry to ask a bad question" Raihan said.
"It's okay. Nothing to cover up. I'm fine with how I am right now" said Cyla.
Raihan reviews the smile and realizes that Cyla is really a strong child. He couldn't even imagine how to be in his position. He is also not much different from his classmates.
"Actually, now my mother is pregnant with the child of my new father. I ... do not know what to do when they are more attentive to the baby," said Raihan honestly.
Cyla is fixated, not expecting that Raihan is also the child of a split victim. Again and again both corners of her reddish lips curved perfectly.
"Don't be sad, you're lucky to still be able to stay with them. Although at first it hurts, but after getting used to everything will be fine," said Cyla.
Raihan was flabbergasted watching the glowing face next to him. "Em, thank you."
"Will you be my best friend?" pinta Cyla stopped the move.
Raihan followed him and met the other person. "Of course, I want to be your best friend."
Cyla chuckles happily then reaches into her uniform pocket taking out two orange-flavored candies. "This, as a sign that we're friends now."
Raihan laughed softly and accepted it. "Thank you." He ate it with his face cut off. "Asam" he said.
Cyla laughed lightly at her reaction. "Indeed, but then sweet?" Raihan nodded in his favor.
"That's how life is, let's go in a little while the bell will ring," Cyla pulled her wrist.
Raihan smiled gently watching the little girl right in front of him sparkling. He looked at the hand perched on his arm carefully.
"I didn't expect there to be a child whose fate was the same as mine. Cyla's fate is not much different from mine. This jolly girl, hides her sadness very well," her monologue in silence.
Raihan is happy to meet a friend whose family conditions are the same. From now on he can share his sad and happy story with Cyla.
