The call through the messenger had come to Jean to have a meeting with Prince Hans and his followers. He brought his new assistant, a navigator named Rose, with him.
"Mr Jean! Please don't be too fast! I'm going to fall!!"
"Sorry! But I'm in a hurry too! Strong grip so you don't fall!"
Jean skillfully spurred his horse at a very high speed. Even though Rose sitting behind him felt like dying!
The looming roots, the branches of the trees that spread to the ground, as well as the slippery rocks, all could have been avoided by Jean. Rose tightly hugged her from behind. Oh, her spongy chest came into contact with Jean. It may also, it feels quite heavenly!
Jean and Rose get to the prince's main tent when everyone has gathered. There was no tension on their faces. In fact, their expressions and body gestures were very relaxed.
Jean knew that today, 10 days after the pending conquest of Bucharest, Prince Hans and all his followers decided to make a move.
They had gathered all the knights, mercenaries, and militias they had brought from the Dublin kingdom to carry out the attack today. A map lay out on the table and several small pawns lay on it.
"Jean, your job is to stand guard at the back line and make sure the food supply stays smooth! You're not allowed to leave your post no matter what! Understood!?"
Prince Hans tried his hardest to bully Jean. In fact, she immediately trembled in fear as Jean entered her tent.
Jean just nodded. A disappointed expression hung on his face. Rose who saw the decision of prince Hans and the despairing face of Jean sighed and shook her head while cursing in her heart.
'Is this prince so stupid as to throw away his precious subordinates!?'
That very afternoon, Prince Hans and his followers set off towards the front lines. Bryant brought in the most mercenaries and Viscount Lostov who had the most knights and militias, in addition to the Cassilas family and the Baldric family, given considerable authority to lead their fellow merchants and nobles.
Rose looked at their departure from a distance. He sighed and turned to look at Jean who was disappointed. But how shocked Rose was when Jean let out a wide grin in her mouth. His expression was completely different from the one before!
"Lord Jean.a-you..."
Hmmmm? Jean looked at the frightened Rose. He suddenly realized that he was grinning and immediately closed his mouth. Ahem! That's a little embarrassing!
"We no longer have any business here. Let's go back to the village and send some men to guard this place."
And once again, Rose almost died because Jean was riding her horse as if walking towards hell!

Unlike what princes Hans, Greg Cassilas, and Hansen Baldric had imagined, their plans did not work at all! Instead, failure after failure always finds them.
Neither they nor Bryant nor Viscount Lostov thought that the kingdom of Bucharest would have a very fierce fight. They also received help from the kingdom of Vilnius and managed to quell the attacks of their enemies.
Deaths fell on the royal side of Dublin without significant damage to the kingdom of Bucharest. Their walls were thick enough that damaging them with logs tied together was not enough to knock them down.
They had also tried to climb the defensive wall with large ladders. But, as they attempted to reach above, the enemy troops instantly poured an extremely hot black liquid! The body of the Dublin royal army instantly melted as soon as they were doused by the liquid.
The situation is completely chaos! The mercenaries, who had no obligation to fight to the very last point of blood, fled leaving behind the merchants who hired them.
Several knights who lost their masters also fled, followed by the militias whose guts had shrunk. They don't want to die!
But they're not that lucky. Jean and his soldiers had been standing in the back line with arrows ready to be shot from their bows.
"As long as there is no order to retreat from the prince, then anyone who leaves the battlefield will be instantly executed!!"
Jean's ultimatum left them with only two options. Die at the hands of the enemy or die at the hands of his own allies.
They will probably get a bit of luck when they turn again to the front. If lucky, they might survive somehow. Or even get credit for their hard work.
However, for anyone stubborn to escape, Jean gave no pardon. He would shoot people who ran indiscriminately.
"Why are you doing this, Mr Jean?"
Rose curious. He did not defy Jean's orders. This question arises purely out of curiosity.
"Why did you say? Aren't people like them a good target for archery lessons?"
"Eh?"
"Hahh.I just want to teach a lesson to those who run away. That's all."
Jean looked at the pile of corpses lined up.
"The deserters, in the end, will be something troublesome. Whether it's bandits, robbers, and other criminal groups. Their actions were blocking my future plans. It's better to get rid of it now before it becomes a tumor."
Jean casually shot the head of a knight who was running away in a pinch.
"Ah, may I ask you something else, Mr Jean?"
"Hmmm? Okay, just ask."
"Why do you look happy when Prince Hans forbids you to jump to the front line even if you put on a disappointed expression earlier?"
Jean smiles. He sat down on the ground and took a stone and threw it at a sprawling carcass.
"They don't want me to get more achievements. Conquering these three villages and cutting off food supplies for the residents of the royal capital Bucharest alone was a considerable feat. You know that yourself, right?"
Rose nodded. She's a smart girl. So he knew about Prince Hans' intentions.
"But why do you accept that, Mr Jean?"
Jean smiled again. This time, he saw a group of crows circling the corpses. Jean let the crows do as they pleased.
"good right? I don't need to send the soldiers I have for a futile struggle. They must have failed. Perhaps with my intervention, the kingdom of Bucharest could soon fall.
"However, the price I have to pay is too expensive. My soldiers will be killed a lot. Bringing them to the war on the front lines this time was a futile investment."
Well, Jean prefers to invest her resources on something else. And for that, he had already prepared everything.
"The news will come tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. And I'm sure those people will agree."
Rose could not read Jean's intentions at all. For some reason, Rose's body suddenly goosebumps when she sees Jean looking at the crow crowd who is busy pecking the bodies with very calm eyes.
