Svetlana realized she was crying. She wiped her tears and smiled at Jeanne. It was embarrassing to cry like this in front of his daughter.
Jeanne herself understood and spoke of nothing. But the atmosphere was already awkward. So Jeanne decided to go get some drinking water for the two of them.
"Thank you, Jeanne. You're very nice."
"Either. Mama's good too."
The two looked at each other for a moment and then exchanged laughter. The awkwardness between them was gone and the atmosphere was back to normal. Svetlana and Jeanne spent their time joking around. Svetlana and Jeanne feel someone in front of their house.
"Ah, that must be one of my friends! He said he would be here today! Mama, I'm going ahead! Can you help me welcome him?"
Svetlana nodded. He said he would prepare drinks for his guests. So Svetlana went into the house and made a drink. While Jeanne, she ran to the front door of the house after washing her sweat with a wet towel.
As soon as he opened the door, a woman his age stood in front of him. Despite his age, his body was shorter. It looks more like a 12-year-old girl regardless of her age which is 10 years older than it looks.
She has white hair tied in a twin tail style. Unlike Jeanne who used to wear her knight uniform, this girl wore a rather free dress.
"Hi Jeanne, good morning. I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your time but there's something important I have to say."
"Eh, Hanna? Good morning too! How about we go inside? It would be more convenient to chat inside!"
Jeanne's mood gets better when a woman named Hanna comes to her house. True, Hanna was the one who was considered a friend by Jeanne. Although they were the same age, Hanna was much more senior in the knight squad considering her family background.
During this time, Hanna was the one guiding Jeanne. He taught what a knight should and should not do. Hanna also taught knight etiquette and many other things. That's why Jeanne considers Hanna a precious friend.
Both of them walked to the living room. There, Svetlana had prepared fresh drinks and snacks for the two of them. After Jeanne and Hanna sat down, Svetlana said goodbye because there was still something she had to finish.
"It's not the first time I've been to your house. But still, I was amazed by the interior. Although simple, this looks very authoritative. Somehow it's more a knight than my mansion."
"Silverfufu... Mama is more comfortable living in a place like this than a luxurious home. So am I."
Hanna laughed a little. A moment later, he came back serious. Jeanne too. If Hanna gets to her house, it means there's something really urgent. They both had no more time for pleasantries.
"Alright, there is a special mission given to the knights. This mission was given by the palace directly. I'll explain the outline. Details will be discussed at the headquarters."
Hanna gave Jeanne a parchment. When Jeanne read the contents, it turned out to contain what she had to do.
"The spy has found a place that is thought to be the base of pirates. We'll be together in three days."
"Hmmm.... Is there any indication of their numbers? It would be difficult to gauge their strength if we didn't have more other information."
"So far there is none. But we plan to send 500 people, including you and me, on this mission. The rest as I said earlier, we'll discuss it at headquarters."
Jeanne stared at the parchment she was holding onto. He was not sure of the mission. But mission is mission. He immediately stood up and prepared.
"All right, I'll be ready for a moment. Please wait here, okay?" Hanna nodded.
15 Minutes later, they set off for the Knights' headquarters in the Warsaw royal capital, Krakov.
