Night Raid (2)

The sounds of horse-rattles, sword-slashes, and human shouts filled the night sky. The blazing flames licked the sky, its black smoke covered in the dark veil of night. Add an arrow flying overhead, so anyone who sees it will think that there is no tomorrow waiting for them.

As he planned, Jean stormed all three villages nearby. He has gained additional manpower from the militias. Despite their incompetence in battle, their existence was extremely useful.

First, Jean mobilizes the militia to raid enemy posts sporadically. Although not good at fighting, their large numbers make the enemy overwhelmed.

One by one, Jean saw victims falling on his side. As soon as he saw that the enemy was exhausted, Jean signaled that the militia would immediately withdraw.

Jean did not give rest to his enemies. Once the volunteers had retreated to the point they should, Jean immediately deployed her cavalry to break through the opponent's defenses.

Unlike the previous ones, these cavalrymen were the group that Jean trained hard on. Despite being inexperienced on the battlefield, their mentality was as hard as steel.

They swept through the opponent's defensive line and finished off all the troops fighting them. The cavalry's movements were followed by a line of infantry at the back. They also killed anyone who dared to resist.

In just five minutes, Jean and his army managed to capture one of the enemy posts. Two more left.

'There were ten men who died in my ranks. But there's no time to think about that now.'

"Install the next post! Kill all who fight! Catch the people who give up! Do it quickly!"

Jean's instructions were immediately implemented. Without spending much time, his Cavalry immediately raided the other two posts. Followed by infantry.

According to the intelligence he obtained, the Bucharest royal forces stationed here were mostly volunteers and mercenaries. Their number was approximately 1,300, while the rest, 7.00, were filled by knights.

They don't have much time to maneuver. As a result, they could not stop the pace of Jean's forces.

On that night, 300 people were killed on the royal side of Bucharest while 20 on Jean's side (without counting the number of militia killed). The rest surrendered and Jean took them as prisoners of war. It's not for moral reasons or anything. There was indeed a little compassion from Jean, but apart from that, they were quite useful for doing other things.

Jean did not forbid looting. More precisely, he ordered it, but he strictly forbade murder and rape.

Some residents, especially young people and adults, try to put up a fight by doing an ambush at a certain point.

It's not like Jean would forgive them. So once he still found the people who put up resistance, Jean would behead those people in public with her own hands.

"As you can see. I will save anyone who stays and does not fight in any form. If you do, as you can see, I'm not holding back."

Jean said such a thing to the terrified villagers. Well, he said such a thing in a carefree tone, which actually made himself look like a demon.

Ah, of course Jean did not hesitate to execute anyone who went against her orders. Even if it was the people he was with.

As soon as Jean gets word that there are some knights and militias raping girls in this village, Jean immediately calls them and executes them in public.

"You see too, guys? Anyone who disobeys my orders will have the same fate as them. So, please be wise in doing, okay?"

His warrior legs trembled as Jean executed their comrade with a wide smile and said such a thing in a light tone like a child having fun.

Jean had instilled fear not only in the souls of her enemies but also her allies.

"Oh, that's right! I'm sorry for looting your property. But please don't blame me, okay? Blame the prince who led this war. Because he's the one, I have to do this all."

In fact, the loot he took was not for himself but for the princes and nobles and other merchants who participated in this war. Well, Jean intends to throw responsibility on them, not herself.

That night, the night raid had succeeded resoundingly.
